Completed Hikes Map

Good one for the family. Love being this close to Superstition.

Early November was a perfect time if year for this fun trail.

Awesome trail only got to 3rd mile marker will definitely start earlier next time!

A ranger suggested we go up the right trail and come down the left trail. I am so glad we did. The right trail has a lot of elevation gain and I was tired when we reached the top. Beautiful view. Coming down the left trail was easier...since there is less elevation decline. My dog enjoyed the hike and the many new friends that she met. Since there is little shade, it could be a better winter hike. Enjoy.

Busier than expected. Parking was a little tough, too. Only made it halfway--taking to many notes for a geology assignment.

Lots of people. Beautiful view!!

best hike in Scottsdale Phoenix area. Not as rough as echo canyon but very challenging. great views.

Great workout! Slightly overcrowded and parking can get wild but the views great!

I hiked this with three of my kids ages 7, 9 and 11. We are beginning hikers and this was doable for us. Challenging enough to let us push through with grit and make us feel proud of ourselves at the end, which is what I wanted. Nice views! Lots of loose rocks and gravelly areas, some scrambling in the steeper moments. Will definitely do again!

Awesome brother-sister hike!

Good views of the city easy in easy out

Easy trail; well maintained. Beautiful views of the Superstitions and the surrounding mountains. Round trip in less than an hour at a leisurely pace.

Awesome trail, view from the point is well worth the time spent getting there. Restrooms and water multiple places along the way. The view from the top is great, but there’s nothing like experiencing it from within the canyon.

Hiked from the rim to the plateau point and back in late October in around 7 hours. We got a late start at 10:45, and got back to rim right after sundown at around 5:45pm. We spent around 45 minutes at the lookout point for lunch.

Well maintained, water every 1.5 miles. Our mileage counter said 14 miles, not 12. Incredible views, and very well maintained. The first 3-ish miles were fairly busy, but it really thinned out once you're past the second rest stop. There were a few people hanging out at the viewpoint as well. The last bit of the hike is very open and exposed (hot). Remember to drink water; ended up coming out of the canyon dehydrated which made for a miserable hike up.

A fun easy hike to do with the family. The scenery is beautiful, the trail is well groomed, not much shade to hide from the sun if you need a break. I only give it three stars because it is a very simple walking trail with some elevation and decent views.

Awesome views, clean area, different options

A little crowded but a great hike with an excellent reward. Beautiful sunrise!!

Fun moderate hike. The first mile is typical AZ hiking on dirt and rocks. At the top, be sure to follow the hidden valley trail (it's a loop so either direction is ok). That trail makes it interesting. You will see lots of people, including young children and dogs. Not a lot of parking in the lot but street parking available a block or 2 away.

This was a super fun hike! We clocked a little over 5 miles. Getting to Fat Man’s Pass was a little confusing and the trail to get there wasn’t clear. But after roaming around for a bit, we found it. Went w a friend who used to liver here and she said it was her fav hike she’s ever been on here! Def would go again. A little bit of climbing

This trail is not for the faint of heart. Marker 27 after the Helipad was all I could do today. A good tip is to not attempt after leg day at the gym. Will be back!!!

Great hike!! Recommend going before sunrise, and hike as the sun rises. I started climbing around 630am. Extraordinary views. I made it to the peak. I’m not an experienced
hiker but I am very athletic so it was a pretty difficult hike but wasn’t bad at all until about the last leg of the hike-as others had stated complete stair climber machine! I sat at the peak for awhile moving from the few areas to sit and the longer I sat the more people joined. I started the decent about 9am and on my run down it was getting very crowded but very hot. Had no experienced with any wildlife but again amazing views especially while the sun is rising the mountains surrounding captured the sunlight perfectly! Backpacks not needed just water and a snack-however I did carry one with my GoPro and snacks.

A challenging rock scramble at the top, but definitely fulfills bragging rights when you safely return down...enjoy!

Went up echo trail and down this way! It wasn’t as well marked and less trafficked. At one point I was scaling a rock bc I thought it was part of a trail before someone saw and told me I was on the wrong part. Haha. I’d do it again, although I heard going up this trail is easier than going down.

Amazing Hike with Friends.....Great Incline Workout....Moderate/Easy......

Very fun! Mammoth Saloon after is a must!

This was a great hike. The direction we took made for an intense workout because it was hilly. This is my first time hiking in Arizona and wow, the sun is no joke (it was in late October). Take the water advisory very serious. It was in the sun the whole time but really beautiful!!

Nice trail. Not for beginners.

Pretty busy, but a great hike. Short enough if you're tight on time but hard enough to make it worth your while.

Beautiful little hike
