Fantastic. It’s strenuous. I am in decently good shape and it was moderate to hard. It’s all uphill and a lot of rock scrambling. But views along the way and at the end are stunning. Took us 25 mins from the cathedral Rock trailhead to get to the top. Then it’ll be another 25 to get down. Everyone said to get here early because the trail is crowded and the two parking lots get full. So we got here at 8am in high season on a Thursday. The first lot was full but second lot was mostly empty. This was the perfect time to go because the trail wasn’t crowded at all and we had space to get up and enjoy the view and the weather was perfect (58 degrees). Definitely worth it!

I did the Piestewa peak summit trail. I was actually very disappointed in this trail. The entire trail up the mountain is just stairs and stairs. The scenery was just more stairs. The trail was very man made and even had railings at certain spots. This also should be rated easy to moderate. If stairs give your knees problems then it’s moderate, otherwise it’s easy. I should have just went to the gym and did the stair master for an hour. It says no dog allowed, but everyone brings their dogs.

Definitely a challenge. I have a major fear of heights and I decided to just do it. (Nike would be proud y’all). Had second thoughts halfway into it but it’s like a roller coaster: you really can’t go back. Crowds tend to keep you moving forward and it’s challenging on the chains. The views, however, were so so worth it.

Moral of the story: WORTH IT. Brave your fear of heights but also be careful.

Very short hike but awesome views. If your in the area you can do this and Horseshoe Bend in one day. Both are pretty amazing.

hard but worth while!

Beautiful, as expected it was pretty crowded. If you wait out a few mins between groups it is a pretty good climb without dealing with back and forth traffic on the narrow path given. Definitely, invest in hiking shoes for this hike. A lot of crazy college kids who would jump and run the hike. Patience is key to enjoy the beautiful view at the top!!!

Love the trail and the view at the top.

pretty good, depending on where you park a good portion of the hike is like a fire road and kinda uninteresting. the views aren't as good as other hikes in the area but the photos on the bridge are cool. get there early, we finished around 8:15 and the parking lot was already starting to overflow.

great little hike with a cool view. at the top go to the left and up another rock scramble to find a more secluded area. get there early because it is going to be busy.

Did this hike today with my infant on my back in a backpack and my 4 year old. my wife and mother in law also made the trek. my gps had the distance of this hike at 1.2 miles so not sure about the 1.9 listed on this, maybe the trail went further but I thought I hit the top/last pillbox. very nice views, very close to the edge of the cliff, keeps your kids in arms reach.

The views throughout the entire trail are impressive..as is everything in Zion. Go early to avoid the crowds.

We usually do North Park but decided to do this one to have a challenge. We went Monday to cut down on the weekend crowd but at about in 9:30/10 am it was already really busy. The hike itself was nothing too hard. There are a ton of places to rest and most of the incline is fairly gradual... no real sharp vertical areas except at the very top. In all honesty I do not feel this trail is nearly as difficult as most of the reviews on here say, and the traffic through the area is bad enough i want to say the view isn't really worth it. I went all the way to the summit as a personal goal and im glad I did it once but.... I wont be taking this trial again for quite a while.

Excellent trail and wonderful views along the whole route. If you’re looking for parking it is marked as Dry Creek trail at the main road. With that said parking at the trailhead is minimal but parking on the main road works and is definitely worth the views on this hike.

Amazing and Death Defying.

If your in Sedona AZ it’s a must hike

We got there around 9 and waited about 10 min. for a parking spot. But we planned on that and used the time to apply sunscreen. I would suggest this hike for those who consider themselves athletic. There were many people we watched go part way and then have to turn around feeling defeated. In my personally opinion the view from the top was not tons better than part way up but for me it was more about the accomplishment of making it to the top. At the top it is not flat like Camelback. It is much like the rocks you are climbing up to get there so it is hard to find a comfortable place to sit or lay. Climbing this trail is like going up stairs the whole time. I would suggest a stairmaster to train for this if desired. It is a great pretty quick workout. Be sure to wear well fitting shoes. I thought mine were till I was on the way down and my toes were pressing into the end of my shoes. Be sure to bring water.

This trail is no secret, but it is everything it is hyped up to be and more. My friend and I did it as a spur on a longer overnight journey into Zion’s indescribably ethereal backcountry via the West Rim Trail, which I would highly recommend. There are beautiful views from the trail camps, and it really takes you through all of the classic Zion environments. The landing definitely slowed us down a bit thanks to the crowds. Walter’s Wiggles, the switchbacks on the initial climb up the canyon, are difficult, exposed and steep, but the spur up to Angel’s Landing itself is not as physically taxing as it is nerve-wracking—the Trail gets to be an extremely narrow ridge at points, and you feel like a bighorn sheep! As everyone has mentioned, start at the very first light, if not earlier—that’s the best way in the desert, to beat the heat and the peeps. Nothing like jumping into the Virgin when you descend back into the valley!

This trail is very heavily trafficked trail that leads to the start of the lower narrows. It is a nice walk along the Virgin river but is built for the high traffic so you are walking on concrete or pavement most of the way up. We had great views of the waterfall on our hiking day because it has snowed the night before and the snow was melting.

Enjoyable hike, but crowed. Spectacular views. Rated as moderate but has sections with significant rock climbs. Used the Baldwin/Templeton routes to access the trail, added 2 miles to the hike. Avoided the crowded trail head problem.

Oh boy, I've done longer hikes with more elevation change, but the switchbacks here are one of the toughest stretches of trail I've found. Trail gets easier after that part though, as it's just being careful navigating the narrow parts with a bunch of people passing you. Definitely among the best day hikes I've completed; the view at the end is utterly worth it!

One of my favorite. It’s a moderate hike but you can take the kiddos. Make sure you bring water with you and your camera ready to take spectacular pics!

Great hike, but get their early. Limited parking and the trail gets crowded, particularly near the top. Last section is rocky and basically one way. Have to wait at several location for traffic to clear. Also have to wait for pics of the bridge. Everyone seems to want individual pic of friends/family atop the arch.

Awesome hike...only able to go about .25 miles in the river because of some rain but it was just stunning.

Amazing, the most beatiful

Great hike went this morning. Had beautiful weather and great views. Was mild traffic not too bad just make sure to start by 9 on the way down was getting a little crowded. Also bring the right shoes very rocky terrain. Overall I enjoyed this hike and would do it again.

Trail is easy to get to a flat. I would recommend going early in the morning. It was quiet and serine walking through the water and having the canyon walls shooting up around us. Despite going the first week of March after we had turned around to head back around 10:30 there were numerous louder groups coming through so we were glad we had gone earlier.

Beautiful trail and scenery. It’s a bit rocky in some areas and some of the trail was washed out. There are parts where you walk on the fire access road.

Great hike—challenging with a great sense of accomplishment at the end. Please be patient when going on narrow areas; if it’s narrow and some people are descending, don’t just start your ascent and then make it difficult for people to pass. Just be patient, because this trail can be dangerous.

Recommend going early, just as sun rises. Fewer people on the trail and the worst part about this is the number of people there that make it difficult to do the hike.

It was a fantastic trail!! Paved which is nice and steep which is really what makes it be considered hard! It was a great workout and I wore my backpacking backpack just for extra weight but definitely only need some water and a camera for this one. No real “gear” needed.
