Nice, quick mountain!

A very short, very easy hike with a great view. The summit is large and offers what appear to be totally different views than bald mountain which is only a few miles away. This is a very easy hike for a family with young children.

the was an easy climb with a wonderful view. there are no views till the summit though. for snowshoeing stick to the long trail. the short trail is not good oon snowshoes.

icy the whole way up but worth it for the views.

Family friendly! Great views!

Beautiful hike! Challenging in some parts but the view is well worth it.

Did this in snowshoes. Up short trail, down long trail. The sun was out when I got to the summit so I took a short nap. Out and back within two hours. Took my time. Pretty icicles along the trail.

Is this trail open for hiking now? March 2018?

This trail has an easy start up until the old ranger cabin site. It gets steep after this, but very fun and challenging. This is a very good hike summer, fall or winter with 360° views. Springtime can be very muddy. There are several water sources along the way also.

Took nearly 5 hours on snowshoes. It was a nice day barely any ice, and trail was broken.. as previous reviewer said false summit has nice views. Actual summit is in the woods. Someone wrote on the marker so you know when you’ve hit the top.

We took the long trail up and down on 3/17/18 with our Golden Retriever. Beautiful winter hike. Most people were using snowshoes but we used crampons and had no issues. There are definitely some steep icy areas that would be difficult to pass with just hiking boots. We recommend Pawz disposable waterproof dog booties if you’re bringing your pup. They make life easy and avoid having to worry about injured paws. The hike up was a little bit harder and icier then we anticipated but it was still lots of fun and the views from the summit were well worth it. The hike down was slightly sketchy and quick due to some slipping and sliding but it was an absolute blast. I’d definitely recommend this hike to anyone looking for a quick easy/moderate winter hike.

Fantastic view , make sure you have snow shoes

Took nearly 7 hours on snowshoes. Had to break the 2nd half of the trail.

Broke the trail in snowshoes. Worthwhile to be up there in the snow. I think it took an hour and a half at most. Took my time at summit. Highly recommend.

This hike was the completion of the Tupper Lake Triad challenge (third completion, 2 X Winter, 1 X Summer). This hike is one of those best bangs for the buck kinda mountains. When ever we have friends visiting who not not regularly hike, we take them on this hike.

Did as part of the Tupper Lake Triad today. All 3 little mountains is just under 8 miles. Fun to do all 3 in one day. Very short hike 2.2 miles total. Great views from summit. There is a fire tower but if you do not like them you do not need to climb it to have good views. Look for the little benches to see great views.

Nice easy trail. Good for a beginner. I did this as part of the Tupper Lake Triad today. The three little mountains are about 8 miles round trip. The views at the top are ok. I was hoping to have a good view of Tupper Lake but didn’t. About 3.4 miles round trip.

Easy little hike. Part of the Tupper Lake Triad. I did the three little mountains today. Easy trail with nice views at the top. About 2.2 miles round trip. Icy conditions today. If your using crampons (I did) it is a piece of cake.

This was a great winter hike. We hiked up the short/steep trail and down the longer/more gradual descent trail. it was very icy but with some spikes totally doable. Great views at the top for a short hike. Park in the designated trail spots up in the North Country school lot near the trailhead. We were told by a local that you will get a ticket if you park on the street.

Beautiful view. Great climb. Trail was icy needed to wear spike. One of three for the day.

I LOVE this mountain. Absolutely wonderful Winter hike. I used microspikes but probably didn't need them. 45 degree day which was awesome. However, it was super windy & cold at the Summit. That was fine. This was my third Summit in under 24 hours (Rattlesnake & Poke-O before it). Amazing way to wrap up things up!

Hiked on Feb 18/18. Only one other on trail who i caught up with at summit. Trail not particularily well marked though the other hiker broke trail which made finding my way easy. Little snow but lots of ice ,some very challenging, a few ice covered scrambles that required thought on how to climb
False summit has nice views, actual summit is in the woods. There is supposed to be a marker at the summit but could not be found. Likey some jerk took it for a souvenir. Decent was like the assent with a few challenging spots.
My first winter solo.Enjoy

Nice hike with good views
Not difficult though the trail was somewhat icy going up
Spikes essential
Decent was easy snowy trail with little ice

Did this on Sunday. Wow, it was icy ! In winter snowshoes are a must and for what it’s worth it would have been impossible with my dog. Nice view and the loop made for an interesting hike both in and out.

Great hike!!! Easy, but fairly long trail. views on top r stunning!!!

Completed Baker in and out in about 1 hour. Very very icy...not sure how anyone could complete this hike without crampons. Lovely view at top.

Beautiful day for a hike, 3 hours in and out. This was my second of the 6er. We also completed Baker shortly thereafter.

Nice views from the top!! If u start from the jack rabbit trail located near whiteface lane you can find a herd path which will be a lot easier then the one from 86. Also McKenzie and haystack u can do it in one day. Cheers to winter hikers!!!
