great views! if you are scared of heights this is not for you.

It's an easy hike that follows the river. I don't think we ever found Moulton Falls but we continued and saw Lucia Falls. There are zero signs on the trail. I took the advice of previous people and took a picture of the map, though that didn't help us. I'll give it 3 stars for being easy, having pretty enough views of the river the whole time. However, it's crowded and the falls remain a mystery to me.

It's one of my favorite training Runs

A great place for an easy hike. Just don't go in the summer if you don't like crowds.

I did my first mountain bike here this afternoon. And it was awesome. Fairly easy trail but lots of fun. I went up to the falls day picnic area and turned around which is under 5 miles. Need to yield with peds and horseback riders but everyone has food etiquette and friendly. I plan to do the trail again and go even further.

Good hike

Gorgeous river and waterfalls!

Great trail. I love this area so much. Road is BAD we parked 2 miles away from the trailhead so we hiked an extra 4 miles. Do NOT take trail to the left on the rock while it’s snowy- we were postholing in about 6-8” of harder packed snow but still fell through. TONS of animal prints everywhere. Very windy. The trail to the right of the rock is your best bet- SO much easier.

Super easy out and back. Went on a crisp January day, damp and overcast with about a dozen people on the mostly paved trail with me.

Good New Year’s Eve hike, snow was very picturesque!

Quick huff and puff. Always good

It’s a really beautiful trail. Great for an easy walk with kids or dogs. I would have given 5 stars, but the gunfire really is what ruins the ambiance. Nothing against guns, but they’re just not what you’re looking to hear when you’re going for a walk in the woods (or at least we aren’t). Otherwise it’s awesome.

So glad I chose to hike this trail. it is beautiful! Trail mainly consists of switchbacks but the views are perfect at every turn

Love this trail and I’m lucky it’s right in my backyard

The falls were gorgeous and the hike along the water was relaxing. Not technical, pretty easy

Steep especially in the beginning, 800 feet elevation in the first mile, I enjoyed the snow about half way up. Was cloudy but could imagine that the view was beautiful at the top, in my list to repeat in the spring.

This was a great trail. There was only a little snow in some spots, and we only saw only one other person. The waterfalls were spectacular!

Great hike with amazing views. My husband and I really enjoyed it all!

Did this hike a while back. Did not disappoint, very beautiful.

A moderate hike with waterfalls, views of the valley, and a lake. We went in November and there was little snow. You'll have to go later in the season for consistent snow. It was very cold at the top though! And a bit slick...

Hiked this trail about 10days ago. Largely clear of snow but icy parts around the top of the pass so microspikes or poles would be helpful. The lake was not frozen over when we visited but I suspect it will be soon.
Lovely scenery along the way with the waterfalls. Was perfect for a sunny November day.

went out for a bit today (11/27/18) and it was nice up there. a little windy and foggy but overall a nice hike. I only did about half of the trail because o was short on time but I did not encounter any snow. the road is as bad as always but I still manage to make it up in my Subaru Crosstrek with relative ease.

My hubby and I happened to be stranded in Portland for the weekend with our truck in the shop so we rented a car and decided to hit the trail and we came upon this one. We had a wonderful time and found the hike quite entertaining. I would consider the trail a fairly easy hike to the top with plenty areas to rest and take in the views..:.would definitely do this again

Not for the faint at heart, but breathtaking views! We did this quick hike with 2 young kids (7 and 5). The railings made me nervous for the kids, but that is coming from someone who had a small fear of heights.

Would recommend to almost all ages and abilities.

"Climb" might not really be the right word here (though if you're a rock climber you can do that too here).
becon Rock is about 850' tall, but if you hike it, you start about 200' from the parking lot where the trail swings around and mainly takes you up South West side of the rock. Most of the path was paved some time ago and once you're taking the switch back son the side of the rock you have hand rails and even few small bridges. The grade of the trail is easier then Multonoma falls, with the switch backs that range from 25'-100' a with each turn.

As a older and fatter hiker, I really didn't have any problems going up or down, other then stopping a lot to take photos of the views you get from here. You only need at best a liter of water on you, and I saw numerous kids easily handle the trail. This included 1-2 year old being carried by their parents (the trail won't handle strollers).

Most of the hike is on the south-western side of the rock, but just when you think you've reached the top, the trail takes you to eastern side for the additional views. The top part of the hike is probably the easiest as a whole too. You raise up about 850' from the base but keep in mind that you start from north side on this hike, you skip about 200' or so feet of the full elevation climb if you use the trail. Easy good hike for all ages.

A hidden gem. Multiple shots of the peaks as you hike. the panorama is the cake!

Got a clear day today 11/12 and it was phenomenal views at the top. With the exception of the first half mile and maybe last half mile (which are steep) the hike is pretty chill. Well worth it on a clear day, def be prepared for wind and dropping temps up top. Happy hiking

Definitely an hour well spent, but the views from the top were obstructed by trees. We spent more time admiring the views from the trail than we did at its peak.
