The initial trail made it seem like it was going to be more of a guided stroll and it increased in intensity as you continues.

I did Angels landing as an extra loop to the West rim trail/telephone canyon. Angel landing itself is great, but a little too crowded. From bus stop to top, then back down, it took me 2 hours. Go as early as possible (went there with the 4th bus of the day, and already starting to be annoying). The trail is NOT hard - more like moderate - but there is a 1500 feet gain so you need to be ok with that. Although it can be narrow, the holding is always extremely easy. The biggest danger is that it is too crowded and people are impatient. The view is great, so do it! Definetly in the top hikes in the area. Otherwise do observation point via east mesa trail is a good alternative overlooking angels landing.

Impressive! Much of the trail is paved and offers gorgeous views! After Scout Lookout it gets ridiculous. Many places you cling to angled rock feeling for a foothold in the rock; hold the chains and pray you don’t misstep and plummet 1500 feet to your death.

Go early. Awesome hike.

Beautiful hike! Started at 8 am and the weather was great; it was in the high 60s when we started and mid 70s when we got back to our car. The hardest part of the hike was the slab, straight up incline. Must bring water!

Got started before the first shuttle got there since we are staying at the lodge. Left the cabin at around 6:45 and we’re one of the first few people to the top. Recommend going in the morning as the way down had a lot of congestion.

Fun!

Tips to the hiker:
- hike early. The mountain gives a good shadow to hike in if you’re out there early.
- bring lots of water and snacks.
-take a friend (or at least have someone know you’re out there).
- gloves are handy for the way down as you climb down the rocks.
- hiking shoes are way better than running shoes

I consider myself to be pretty fit and an adventurous hiker... but this was a tough hike!! I loved it, but it challenged me more than almost any hike I’ve done. I saw multiple people who had turned around before the top because the terrain was rough. Lots of scaling up rocks and trying to keep balance on some loose gravel. Amazing hike, but be prepared to work! I did it in 4 hours (minus the 30 minutes I spent at the top).

Killer view at the top...

It’s a tough one but well worth the journey. When the trail seems to dissipate look ahead and you’ll find it we learned the rule is to stay to the left going up when the path splits avoid the right

Trail gets pretty crowded on cool weekends. But it is a beautiful easy/moderate hike with a great view at the top. If you time it correctly (top of the hour from 9am to 9pm) you can see the fountain from Fountain Hills when you look north from the cave. Next to no shade on the trail during the day but nice and cool at the top.

Amazing hike!! The view at the top makes the challenging hike up worth it. A few things to be mindful of: This is a very difficult hike! Trail markings are few and far between so be aware of your surroundings and be extra careful on your way down.

I hiked this trail today and found it very challenging. I'm not in the best shape and I'm apparently very scared of heights so i was terrified most of the time. Its absolutely beautiful and i loved every second of it. Bring a ton of water and some snacks. Good hiking shoes are a must or you'll be sliding on all the loose rocks. To put this in perspective, I went up the Echo Canyon trail of Camelback yesterday and the climb to Flatiron made that seem like a leisurely stroll. Totally worth it though.

Great hike! Difficult but not awful. Worth it to go down to the falls. Just watch for the black rope just a ways up after the turn where the sign is.

This trail is tough, but the falls and view of the valley are worth it. The entire way up is a good climb, and the trail is pretty rocky.

This is a hard trail because of the steep switch-backs. Pace yourself up this trail. Think of it in four parts. The first is the steep switch-backs up the outside of the mountain. But once you make it up that you get a break by hiking in the shade and more reasonable path back inside. But be prepared to hit the third part of the trail that takes you up shorter, but steeper switch-backs a good bit up. At the end you find the part that’s flat where you can rest and go to the bathroom. From here you can go back down or take the final leg up where you have to hold on to chains and make your way to the top on a small ledge with pausing for hikers moving back and forth up the trail.

Must see when going to Utah. Went at 9:00am, crowds were getting bad when leaving.

This was such an amazing experience! It was a little tougher than I had anticipated but definitely worth it! Took us 2.5 hours to get up... make sure you are using this app and gps, as some spots were hard to tell if we were on the trail. Also the white marks on the rocks helped! Get started early in the day as it gets hot when the sun comes over the mountain.

Love this trail! It’s great for beginner (in shape) hikers. Views of Vegas from the top are fun and there’s lots of change of scenery throughout the hike. It’s a quick day trip in the amazing Red Rock Canyon! It’s pretty exposed so bring lots of water- would not recommend in the dead of summer.

Absolutely breathtaking. Cannot stress enough how dangerous and difficult it is, though. If you are unsure, stop at Chicken Rock. From there, the steep drop offs begin.

amazing hike. we loved the views and the challenge. highly recommended.

Went all the way to the summit...about 1.5 feet of snow at the top...it slowed me down a decent bit but it was still doable with out an extra gear...just keep that in mind. Again, I’d like to reiterate that the second half of the trail is soooo much better than the first half...it’s got a whole different energy to it.

this is easy and takes about 3 hours tops. Good for kids and pets. Pretty busy and cost is now 9 bucks

thumbs up

It’s hot. Very hot. And takes a long time to get there so make sure your car is gassed up and you have plenty of water. Other than that, pretty cool rock formations.
