If you want to get away from the crowds at the lake Louise front shoreline, take this for a little jaunt. Different perspectives of the lake, especially at the back shoreline. A loop is possible.

This was my 2nd time coming here. I love it. I hated outmaneuver underneath the fallen logs from the storm not to long ago. If you have bad knees yes this will be awkwardly painful. Other than that at the ledge it was super windy and cold. Took my group of ladies about 3 hours to finish. The sunset was pretty <3

Beautiful and fun hike! the hardest part for me was closer to the top where all the rocks and boulders were but other than that definitely doable and so worth it. its a popular hike so definitely prepare for that and be sure to have a parking pass or get one at the station just a few miles before the hike.

Beautiful view, at the end! This hike does require a lot of rock climbing and can be a bit slippery. Make sure you wear hiking shoes for good grip. There were a lot of people who brought their dog along for the hike, but they just have to be on a leash.

Climbing up the mountain was a bit of a challenge and may appear scary for those afraid of heights. I thought I wasn’t going to make it up at first and freaked out when looking back down.. but I manage to push myself to the top. Surprisingly the way down seems a lot easier.

Parking day pass is $5.

P.S. don’t follow strangers down a different path.. you go up and down the same way you came from.

Beautiful trail, arrived at 9:45 am on a Saturday and would recommend going a bit earlier. The hike itself gave a great view of the forests and the cascades at some point. Waterproof shoes are a must, the trail became a creek at times. Lots of cute dogs, saw a small avalanche on the far side of the lake (didn’t interfere with the trail.) I recommend a down layer if you’re planning on sitting near the lake at all, the sun doesn’t get into the valley at all due to it rising and setting so far south.

Went at 1:15pm. Very crowded in parts of the trail but was able to run some on the way up and down. Beautiful views! Worth every bit of traffic!

Beautiful hike! Not much to see on the way up but the lake is stunning. Pretty easy if you’re in some sort of shape. Ice and snow when you’re pretty much to the top. Definitely doable without spikes and poles but HIGHLY RECOMMEND waterproof shoes and layers for up tops. The sun didn’t breach the ridge line so the whole lake was shaded the entire day. We got to trailhead at 9:15 and there weren’t too many people but trail was definitely crowded on our way back down. Would not recommend going on ice.

Not too strenuous and no views going up. Views at the three ledges aren’t as good as surrounding national parks.

Must do. Moderate to difficult climb but the view is incredible!

No snow or ice on the path at all. It was a little crowded even though we went up around 9am but the view up there was amazing. When we went down around 1pm the parking lot was packed so I would recommend to go there early.

Beautiful day with our friends on this winter hike. We definitely needed our Yak Tracks for the snow at the top! Gortex boots made the stream crossing simple.

Requires a bit of effort to scramble up some rocks but the view is worth it! Tried to catch the sunset up top but some of the surrounding rocks blocked the direct view but it was still beautiful! Would totally hike again

This is one of those hikes I could do and never get tired of. I only do this one in the winter for the scenery.

Beautiful trail with many hops over the creek. I did this trail during winter and was a bit icy.

This hike was so much fun! A quick little hike with some climbing, but not too difficult.

Short hike with moderate difficulty. The view at the top is PRICELESS. Defiantly an awesome trail!

Great challenge

It was awesome!

Beautiful views from the ground of the rock formations and canyon. The trail end does not have any Wow factor and the views are consistent along the whole trail. We did it in the winter and spring or summer might be more fun with the creek crossings and blooming wildlife. I would recommend this trail as a sight seeing activity rather than a trail hike. Good to go in 1 mile and out or for an easy day walk.

Gorgeous hike and suitable for all skill levels! The beauty of this hike is in the options! if you do not feel like a climb to the "end of the trail" the sweeping vista views are 360 degrees and available basically from the bottom/parking lot. We were lucky and came at around 3pm and got a parking spot in the small lot off back o beyond road and took our time climbing as high as our girls would allow us to. When it became too busy near the top we just stopped and snacked and took pictures. What an amazing way to spend a few hours!

1/6/19 - Quick and easy hike. Rained before I hiked it so some of the rock surfaces were a bit slick. My buddies were burnt out because we did a 14 mile hike in the Grand Canyon the day before so they waited in the car for me so I pushed it hard and made it to the summit in 17 minutes. Enjoyed myself a few views and pictures and luckily for me a rainbow popped out of nowhere which was awesome. Made it back down in about 15-17 minutes again taking caution going down on the slick rocks once again. All in all did the entire thing in about 45 minutes which was rushed but still a great enjoyable hike nonetheless.

2nd time here view still amazing took 2 first timers with us they loved it started 1:35pm -4:40pm stop and took a lot of photos few trees down due to wind storm night before but trail was still busy

This is my 2nd hike to Rattlesnake Ledge. Beautiful well maintained trail, no ice or sleet. Fairly easy hike to the top for moderate to experienced hikers. I went at 8:30, wasn’t as crowded. The view was amazing! Very windy at the top, but I took a break to eat and the scenery was just wow! Additionally, bathrooms are well maintained and stocked. Unlike many other places that I have hiked to. I will definitely go back again.

This hike is amazing! It was very icy when I went which made it very difficult during the first half, but after the climb in the crack, it’s smooth sailing from there. The view is breathtaking and totally worth the difficult hike up to it! You won’t be disappointed!

Great rewards for such a short hike! Only 2 miles to the top, but still a workout. No snow or ice. Trail is in good shape and bathrooms at the trailhead we're clean and stocked! (Always a plus)

We absolutely loved this mini challenge! The views at the end were worth the short, but intense climb up! We tracked about . 6 miles upwards. Be sure to take shoes with good traction as the rocks can be slippery!

Wow, what a hike! First you have a lot of fun scrambling up. Wear good hiking shoes! And I recommend bringing hiking poles, they make the later descend much easier.
The final spot has great views at the valleys and mountains. We missed the sunset by just a few minutes, but the upside was that there were zero people at the top. We had it all for ourselves. It’s just awesome.
Our descend was a bit sketchy, because it was getting dark. But with hiking poles and some confidence we ended up just fine.
Overall, amazing and interesting hike with unbelievable views. Enjoy after the mandatory Devils Bridge.

Ok. I’m gonna tell you how it is. My alarm goes off. 6:30am. I click snooze - whatever - anyways I get up 7:30. After that, my little lady fed me sum homefries and jackfruit griddled eggs like mama did back home (and her mama before her (secret recipe)). Anyways, I digress. The hike at Cathedral was on my mind all morning. All I could think about were those red rock peaks - I couldn’t wait for the helluva challenge! I get in my truck, wife, dog and son with me, and head for the trailhead. Long drive. Parking was hard to come by, but I backed the ole girl in (always been good at that!). We get out and the ground real slippery. Been snowing last couple days and it all gosh darn turned to ice already. Dog son wife and me get out and walk on up to the mid section - couple tourists round these parts of the trail. We scramble on up toward the top, takes son a couple goes to get the rhythm of scrambling - he’s only 6. He had his party couple weeks ago (transformer themed). One of his buddies weed on the floor and it was hella sticky but we cleaned it up just fine. As my cousin used to say, wet anything with water and she’s clean. I digressed again. So we’re hiking on the middle section and don’t you know it my god darn cell phone I carry in my pocket starts ringing. And it’s Jerry from the office who is dating Jessica but who secretly loves Emma. I told that boy not to call me when I’m spending my time with my boy. Track was a bit too busy for me. Two stars.
