Beautiful view with the snow and lake. Highly recommend spikes.

Short bit difficult; went in March (3/14/18) and very icy. Made harder and less fun. Want to go back

beautiful views! for my first hike it was well worth it!

I definitely recommend crampons/shoe spikes!! Very necessary. Very steep slick icy spots still, saw multiple people slip! It’s totally worth the incline up!!!

Bring microspikes in winter months.

Beautiful lake.

Went up when it was frozen over with some friends. It's tough getting up and back down with all the snow, but so worth it. Some people hike up and sled / snowboard down. You get to walk around on a big frozen lake once you make it all the way. Really awesome.

Perfect day hike. Good distance with some nice elevation gain. Had to go back down to grab the crampons we forgot but it’s doable with out them and some hiking boots. Great view of Coors and even saw about 10 deer. Parking lot was full and plenty of people on the trail but it was still enjoyable.

Was fun , great for a quick weekend hike ! Was pretty active a lot of bike riders but they were courteous and path was shared .
Great views found a little hidden water fall that was frozen ! Kids loved it would go back again .

Steady climb but easy pace and well trafficked. Nice reward at the top.

Icy, but beautiful & worth the effort.

Pretty boring at this time of year.

This trail used to be much more pleasant but it has become over-travelled. The mountainside is being destroyed by people creating their own trails going straight down the fall line at every possible switchback on the hill. It’s eroding quickly, plants are being trampled, and nobody seems to care for it.

Super dog friendly and beautiful trail. Incline is steady in parts and more severe in others but overall it’s not that difficult. Rewards are the view at brothers lookout.

Don’t let the trailhead fool you! The path gets extremely(!!) steep and slick. Even with crampons it was tough! Saw lots of people attempting it with Converse/Nikes/Keds and slipping or having to just slide down. Many people turning back halfway too. Ice spikes are a must!

Great hike did it yesterday 03-10 about 3 Miles round trip.. beautiful lake the water was just as pristine as u can imagine and waterfall .. the trail is somewhat doable without micro spikes but highly recommend them because a few places were pretty slippery

Lovely, easy walk along the creek that passes several small lakes. Some bikes and others dogs, but pretty quiet for a Sunday afternoon. Easy for all abilities and ages.

Had a nice hike this morning! Windy Saddle Trail was really nice, but Lookout Mountain and Beaver Brook Trails both had a lot of ice. Still doable with Yak Traks or good winter gear.

Nice soft trail to run on near a little creek and a couple lakes.

Pretty decent. Get there early for parking

Nice, quick workout close to Denver! I agree with the review before me...The trail is mostly dirt, but the sections where there is ice it's super slippery!! I had to put my Yaktrax on because I could barely get traction without them. I also went super early in the morning so the icy sections might be softer later in the day. Happy hiking!

Very moderate incline and declines over the long trail. Quite populated but not overbearing. Beautiful scenery and overall great weekend hike!

if you're afraid of slipping down a steep hill perhaps this isn't the one for you till all the snow melts :)

Great hiking. No ice. Not overly crowded early.

Beautiful hike. Not very strenuous. At this time of year, it is still icy in some spots where it’s shaded so some spikes would probably be helpful. You can definitely get by without them though.

It’s a beautiful hike but quite treacherous if there is snow and ice on the trail. We saw a ton of people not wearing proper footwear that I hoped wouldn’t fall off the mountain. Definitely want to go back in summer when there is no ice.

Great hike with beautiful panoramic views of Golden. Tricky to follow the trail last weekend (3/4) due to snow coverage. The entire trail you will be on and off of ice, so bring crampons! They are easy enough to stick in your bag and you will be happy to have them. Saw lots of people falling without, and was so grateful to be able to grip into the ice as needed.

Great spot for a sunrise hike!

Make sure to wear ice spikes! Can be pretty slippery. Great views and a great hiking workout - uphill madness!

It was really great hike. Short and kind of easy
