Nothing wrong but not too exciting either. A couple cool views of Golden but not much else during the winter.

Not my favorite hike at all. Still pretty, and nice - just so many other beautiful hikes to do in the area I would have rather done. Went 2nd weekend of December and wore spikes. Not necessary, but glad I had them. You can see the Coors plant for a lot of the hike which is not my thing at all. I like to be away from stuff, more quiet (or at least nature sounds) and different views. Nothing “wrong” with this hike, just not one I will ever do again, and wish I had not gone on. I think a lot of locals use it to walk their dogs. I can see how it would be great for that, just not one I was especially excited about as someone visiting and looking for more of a hike.

One of the most underrated trails I’ve ever done. Absolutely breathtaking. Not too strenuous, but difficult for us Indiana folk because of the whole breathing thing.

Nice hike! Not too difficult but beautiful views for it’s proximity to the city. Trail alternates right now between dirt/mud and snow/ice so bring crampons in your bag if you have them.

It was a nice hike hear the city! Very icy on parts so bring your spikes if you have them :)

Hiked on 1/21, the trail is very snowy, and can be slippery at some steep slope (even with micro spikes), especially near the top. but the trail was absolute beautiful, quite, and it’s super fun to hike on! It took us a little more than 3 hours to complete, because we stopped a lot for taking photos. Lake on the top was half frozen; it’s gorgeous and totally worth the effort.

Nice gradual climb to peak. Lots of shade. Icy in some areas. Spikes not necessary but would be helpful.

Awesome trail, definitely excited to do it again when all the snow melts! Very, very slick at times and fell a few times. Definitely would recommend cramp ons if you go

Loved this hike! Great variety. Definitely need spikes as there’s lots of snow, but no need for snowshoes. Loved the variety of the differing terrain, between mountains, through the forest, up and downs. Will definitely do this again soon!

I loved how peaceful the trail is, yet there still are little mini trails to fulfill that sense of adventure. Will do again!

A good balance between snow and dirt trail, easy to follow. Wear yacktrax.

Love this trail in all seasons. Snow packed and muddy. I hiked in boots with good tread.

Did the south loop this morning. Snow was packed down well, a few icy spots but went well without spikes or snowshoes. Muddy at the lower elevations near the east trailhead.

Hiked on 1/17, lots of wet snow making the trail difficult at the top. Yaktrax were helpful. The lake was mostly frozen.

My favorite mt in Denver Metro although usually prefer from the housing area using Nightbird trail rather than Canyon because you have a great view of Downtowm Golden, Coors, and both North and South Table Mts...very rocky and medium steepness

Great for hiking in the snow! absolutely beautiful. Trafficked but not heavily. I will be back soon.

Completed 1/15. Pretty snowpacked with ice in some spots. Needed spikes almost the entire way. Beautiful winter hike!!

Beautiful setting. This is set as Easy however parking is a bit tricky and it's a pretty steep climb to get to the glacier. Was pretty slick with all the snow, will go again in spring.

I just moved here and found this hike a little challenging because of the altitude. the trail is pretty packed down so I did it in tennis shoes with no problem. a lot of people brought sleds that looked fun! I took a lot of breaks but the view was great.

Great view, fun hike. There were some parts where I wished I had grips for a little extra traction in the snow but you can get by without them. I’ll definitely be going back when the weather has changed to see how the trail is then and maybe even while the snow is still around.

For someone not used to the altitude, this hike can be more challenging than most people have rated it. It’s short, but fairly rocky and steep. Combine that with the altitude, and some breaks may be necessary. Once you reach the top though, it’s worth the effort and you’ll probably want to hang out for a bit. Beautiful hike, but don’t underestimate it!

Very enjoyable! Plenty of trails to pick from. There’s about a foot of snow right off the trail but much more if you go too far off. You see elk and wildlife here and there. Woods but if you go to perimeter trails then you see meadows. I used my basic spikes (smaller less heavy duty) over my hiking boots and it was a great hike!

Great hike. Light cover of snow made the views beautiful. Snow packed trail, no ice. Wore my boots and had poles.

beautiful hike! lots of snow overnight, some spots near the top had almost a foot. we hiked with just our boots but snowshoes for some of the less trafficked trails would probably be better. so much fun :)

Few icy spots in the beginning so be careful but it’s worth it

Great hike for the entire family! We battled 40+ mph winds and still had the best time! Can’t wait to do it again. We hiked on 1/4/18, completely snow-packed but made it even better. Kids slid back down the trail almost the entire way!

Fun hike with the pup

Beautiful!

Beautiful views! Great hike to bring the dogs with on a leash.
