That was a great little family hike. Lots of cold water pools to lay around in and 4 leaves up or so there was a hole that was about 2 ½ feet wide by 3 ½ feet long and about 10 feet deep. Jumped in with my arms by my side. What a rush. The hike is easy. Parking was a problem so get there early.

Amazing view at Summitt

Our first time doing this trail with our German Shepard and Boston Terrier. Was a great hike, but definitely think your dogs need to be in good shape as our Greman Shepard wasn't. We weren't aware of the rock scrambles, so we had to lift our Shepard in a couple of spots. Great workout with great views! Would do again, just not with our out of shape dog...

Liked this very much. Good for the dogs and enjoyable for everyone else

Finally got to hiking the mountain in my hometown-we went on a hot day so it was difficult with my asthma but if we’d done this hike on a fall day I’d rate it moderate. Trail starts out steep right away! But levels out as you go. We found a BUNCH of blueberries on the trail, bushes everywhere. Overall a fun hike and pretty views.

This is one of our favorites-not too far of a drive from Portland, and an easy to moderate level of difficulty. This was one of the first mountains we did, when we went back several months later and with a few more mountains under our belts, it was MUCH easier. Second time we did burnt meadow and stone mountain together, up and down and to both mountains took us about 3.5 hours. Beautiful views!!! Highly recommended.

hiked this trail with my 3 kids (ages 8-14yrs). we went up the Eagle Scout trail and the Nature Loop trail and came down the Ledges trail, it was a pretty easy hike and my kids loved the stone tower. it was a bit cloudy when we went but it still had great views. a hike i would recommend for really any age or skill level.

Fun family trip with just the right mix of fun and challenge. Some steep and rocky parts but nothing too tough. I saw people of all ages - from young families with parents carrying babies in packs, to teens and seniors. Nice brook running up the side of the trail at some parts. Nice view st the summit. Can be a bit busy - not the trail you want if you prefer solitude. Well marked. Done with a 10 and 12 yr old, and 4 month old puppy. Nice canopy of trees to shine away the elements.

Nice moderate uphill trail. Beautiful views at the top. Great place for a picnic!

Perfect hike for families with younger children. One of the highest visual-payoff-to-effort ratios you can find.

Wonderful trail with beautiful views. It’s moderate but definitely. strenuous if you aren’t in good shape. Took my dog along. Saw a few people along the way. From Denmark road parking area it’s about 3 miles to the top. There is access from the other side of mountain that is about a mile shorter. Took about 2 1/2 hrs to reach the summit and about 1 hr 40 mins to get down. Stopped a number of times for my dog who was really struggling with the heat, and for ourselves on the way up to catch our breath. We had plenty of water. On hot humid days you will need about 3 liters of water for a person plus a dog. Trail is steep from the start until reaching about 2/3 of the way up, then there is relief as you hike the ridge. Definitely worth repeating.

was a nice hike up today. under the canopy of the trees, air temp/humidity not bad for our group of 5 to make it in about an hour. the kids did fine, though one thought it was more steep than she expected. a great day

Amazing trail for family of 6. This was our first time in the White Mountains and a perfect hike for beginners. The trail is well marked with a beautiful forest canopy to start followed by a rocky ascent deserving of some fancy foot work. The kids couldn’t wait to get to the top. What a view! Well worth it. Spent 30 minutes snacking and taking in the amazing vistas. Coming down saw many hikers going up. We lucked out not having hikers on top. Will definitely visit next time.

A nice hike with some very scenic views at the top, but it is not ‘easy’ (at least not for a 65+ year-old who is reasonably fit). Elevation increases the entire way; lots of roots and small rocks to watch out for; and large rocks to climb on the last 1/4 mile. For me it was a medium-level hike (especially since it was hot and humid today), and a very enjoyable one.

The hike gets steep right from the start but that just means that you get to the great views faster. I found the views along the ridge on the way up to be just as enjoyable as the view from the top, if not even more so. This was my first time hiking alone so I was nervous about getting lost but the trail is very well marked by either yellow diamonds or cairns.

This was a really pretty trail. Well marked trail with flower/plant photos. There are areas that are steep so having a trekking pole is helpful if you tend to have some unsteadiness. Really is for different skill levels. My husband and my 2 teenage boys and 8 year old all made it challenging for themselves.

So romantic to do with your boo ;)

Took the trail behind the visitor center to the left. Hiked up 1.6 miles expecting to reach the top. At the end of the 1.6 miles there was another Mt Williard sign for .5 or .6 miles. With sunset coming I did not have the time for the extra leg. This website either needs better directions to the trailhead or to update the hike the 4.4 miles.

Great hike! Took about an hour and a half to get to the summit. I would say this is a moderate hike, like others have mentioned it starts right off steep right away and then levels off for a little before the last steep trek to the summit. Had great look out points throughout the whole trip. Would recommend for a quick day hike in a beautiful area!

Enjoyable hike but not much variety to it or views. Did find a bunch of different kinds of mushroom on the path and saw the occasional chipmunk and toads.

Fantastic! Easy to find with plenty of parking. All of the trails are clearly marked and even though it’s “1.6” miles you can easily make it longer adding more trails. We did 2.6 with the kids. Very kid friendly

Short hike to falls- first part of the trail could even be accessed by wheelchair or with a stroller. Climb up higher on the path to get up to the top of the group of falls. Small waterfalls and natural rock slides - good for all ages but can be very slippery so watch the little ones.
Gets very busy on nice days, go early or go when it’s raining to avoid the crowds.

Ran this with Rick Collins for spartan race training. Perfect for this!!
Tried taking kids and dog up and it was boring. It’s Jeep road with nothing to see. Until you get to the fire tower and that’s locked.

Over all it’s great because it’s good exercise and close by

Definitely a family friendly hike on a well marked, gently sloping trail. Easy for even young children or seniors to climb. Beautiful views of the notch from the top.

I did a run around the ring trail, goose foot, cedar trail, vulture’s view, back to ring trail. The trails are in good shape and I got a nice workout.

So much fun and the view is to die for !

Spur of the moment decision to hike this with a friend and my pup. Pretty hot summer day so taking the yellow trail up was a bit longer but being in the trees was a welcome relief from the sun! Tons of wild Maine blueberries were ripe enough to snack on - sooo good! This was my 1 year old labs 2nd hike and he did great! After the hike we found a great little public beach at the pond below and all went for a swim. Really fun day!

great mountain. feels longer than it is. the summit is badly marked but the top of the mountain is so beautiful that it doesn't matter. at least 3 or 4 false summits that were all gorgeous. some rock scrambles toward the top. I wouldn't suggest folks who aren't active do this trail.
