Loved this hike! We hiked late afternoon and there wasn’t too many people in the trail, most of them were coming down. When we got tot the top only saw one other person. It was peaceful, beautiful and just incredible looking over the valley. We didn’t stay for sunset but I would imagine it’s a great spot for the sunset.
A little more difficult trail as you have to climb up the sandstone rocks. If you don’t have hiking shoes it could be slippery and tricky. But otherwise just a steep climb.

Beautiful view...if you can get it all to yourself. It was absolutely PACKED when we got to the top. Way too touristy! There was an actual line of like 15 people waiting to get “their perfect photo” on the bridge.
The hike was short and I would say easy. I was disappointed as I thought it would be more difficult or longer. The end has steps up to the top but other than that It was an easy leisure hike.

beautiful challenging trail

Did this in 2017 and a year on I am still convinced it is the best hike I have ever done. So rewarding on both ascent and descent and not just for the two falls. The scenery throughout is stunning. Hard to avoid the crowds but many don't proceed to Nevada. It is tough by virtue of its distance and constant, steady elevation gain but it is not a killer. Take your time and enjoy every step. It really will take some beating for me to find a better hike

Yes the trail IS open! A very strenuous hike (for us 60-somethings) but oh-so-spectacular 360 views of the park from the Landing. Glad we fulfilled another bucket list hike in one our most breathtaking NP’s.

We had a jeep and were able to drive in to avoid walking the dusty trail in. The view from the top was amazing and a must to go on the bridge and take some pics!

Not for those afraid of heights, but do it anyways! You’ll be so happy you did. This hike is not to be missed.

It was a nice view worth the hike. Went 9/23 started @ 930 finished @ 1230 sat up there for about 40 minutes to see the view & snack. The inclines can be a little tough on knees and stuff but keep your hands free to help climb a bit. Water for sure needed. If you go earlier I’m sure it’s not as hot

Great views on this hike. A challenging hike for someone not is shape but I still made it to the top.

Beautiful and challenging hike, well worth at the end.

Absolutely breathtaking! You have to walk a little less than a mile through sand to actually get to the trail but the hike itself and the scenery made it so worth it. There’s also three trial options of ranging length and difficulty, all leading to the bridge.

Just amazing and easy! Highly recommend, did the longest route.

Great hike. Fairly short. Small crowd since it was early Friday.

Busy but fun
Tough in some parts but doable

Great views. Worth the hike.

This hike is awesome! There is a fairly extreme element of danger due to the huge drop offs on either side of the trail, but it makes for a very exciting hike with great views at the end! This trail is extremely crowded especially once you reach the top and the chains.

Can’t wait to come back in spring

Wife and I loved it! If you don’t hike much it can be a bit strenuous, but I still tend to recommend this one to anyone (beginners included). The ending makes it all worth it!

♥️♥️♥️

Nice trail. Halfway around I came across a 5’ rattle snake on the trail in the morning. He coiled up and I went the other direction.

Go early to avoid the dust and crowds

These two trails are awesome. Usually when I want to show someone Yosemite and bring them on a hike with me, I take them to these trails. Vernal falls is very amazing, especially in the late spring early summer. It has the most water late may! Taking the mist trail you get completely soaked. The first 1/2 mike of the trail is fairly easy, just lots of incline but on a paved path. The last part of it after the bridge is all stairs and water. So make sure you have boots that can track in water. Once you reach the top of vernal, you can relax on the pavement or choose to continue on to Nevada. Nevada is much harder to get to because it’s about 2-3 more miles of switchbacks. Bring lots of water for Nevada especially. These are 2 of my favorite trails in Yosemite!!!!

Start early in the morning (by 8am) to avoid crowds. We were there in mid-September and was not too crowded at that time, but was busy at the bottom when we were finishing up. Hard hike with a lot of vertical climb, but worth it for the views. Take the easier John Muir trail down for some added length and also for the views looking back at the falls you just climbed. Beautiful hike!

great trail with lots of shade, views are wonderful. Only downside for me was that it was very crowded, then again guess it's good that lots of people are able to enjoy being outside. Next time we're doing this very early in the morning

Gorgeous views. Very easy hike until the last quarter mile.

Nice mellow hike. second half is shaded. Obviously, not too much water but it's worth seeing the end.
