The best I’ve been at

awesome steep climb. Only bring your dog is he's a good climber. One of my favorite hikes!!

My first high peak! Loved it and the view was awesome!

This was a little tougher than I thought it would be. The first overlook, when you turn around was magnificent. The top was cloudy and very windy. When the sun did peek through, the view was a 10 all around. This was my first high peak, I'm 61 and I am so glad I did it. No crowds, great people along the way. This years foliage was outstanding!!!

Beautiful day on the trail on 10/14. Lots of fresh powder came in overnight. Some areas were quite icy, but it was very manageable if you come prepared and aren't hiking in sneakers. We saw less than 10 people total during our 3 hours out. Views were limited by the snow clouds, but it was still spectacular!

Great hike. Challenging. Be in shape!

Map indicates going up and returning on the white trail. Best to return on the yellow trail. Trail maps were available at the start of the trail, just before the car tunnel.

Short hike to top - 1:45 moving slowly. Amazing 360 views on top. Did it in the Fall - beware of icy rocks coming down. Crowdy but great hike if you have less than 4 hours.

It is a little strenuous but the views are amazing. The fall colors are just starting and in about two weeks, it will be wonderful! It was a beauty day for hiking today. There were so many people on the mountain, it was unbelievable!

Great 360 views all around!

Super easy, well kept trail. The lake is really lovely. It's a little crowded for my taste, but what a great time of year to go. The leaves are starting to change, and it will only get better in the next couple of weeks.

Skipped Lake Awosting, Did Rainbow Falls and the Shawangunk Ridge Trail up to Litchfield Ledge, Castle Point, and Hamilton Point Carriage Rd back. The cut-through from Castle Point down to Hamilton Point CR is a little hard to find and is a straight down scramble. Beautiful.

It was beautiful but very icy! The whole trail was nothing but ice. Need some yak tracks and hiking poles. Went on 10/12 and it was very crowded on the way back down. Worth the views but definitely would wait until the summer to do it again.

Love this trail, definitely difficult though!

For someone from Indiana this was definitely more moderate than easy.

Gorgeous views! The journey was through snow and ice for the entire hike. Would recommend traction and waterproof shoes. Sunny and clear Friday oct 12 when we hiked but very windy, especially at the edge of the lakes!

Beautiful hikes. Pretty easy hiking with great views!

Beautiful hike as expected but extremely windy! We started around 8:30 and the parking lot was pretty empty. Def would recommend wearing micro spikes because a good portion of the trail is very icy and also waterproof shoes! The wind was blowing so hard at Dream Lake I was sliding across the ice! It was pretty with the snow but hard to see the mountains. The trial was very crowded on our way back down so still would recommend going early.

Pretty easy hike, paved mostly so great for littles. Awesome rock formations to check out too!

Such a gorgeous hike! It was rainy, foggy, and filled with leaves. When you got the chance to see views through the clouds and Fogg they were worth the hike up, even the trees were gorgeous! Will definitely go again, just take your time and enjoy nature ☺.

It was pretty chilly, but still beautiful! Took us about 3 hours with a lot of photo stops. Unfortunately we couldn’t see much of the mountains, but we got some pretty amazing photos of snow-laden trees being reflected in the waters. It was by far the busiest trail that we did all weekend, I can’t imagine what it would be like during peak season! We went early (around 8am) and didn’t have issues with parking. The lot was filled by the time we got back

Some trails intersect with other trails, which can get confusing. Otherwise an amazing and beautiful hike. While it can be tempting to just hit the overlook, doing this entire loop is well worth it!

One of my favorite hikes ever, even with the crowds. A must see during winter, too!

If you are looking for views this trail is for you. However, plan on spending up to two hours going up and and two for going down looking at your feet! The rocks are unbelievable and very dangerous going down! I personally think this is not a great way to spend 4-5 hours. Would not recommend unless you are in very good shape and experienced on climbing on wet large rock. I've hiked all over country including Canada and this was one I would not do again.

This was my first hike and pretty challenging for a newbie. #1TIP wear comfortable shoes and clip toe nails beforehand. The incline and decline on the rocks will do a number on your feet. Sunday morning hike (9 am) didn't see much of a crowd. The trail is about 1.5 hours from New York on the Metro North(BEACON STATION). You'll need to take a cab ride from station to trail roughly (5 mins). The view and experience is well worth the hike.

Steep and Rocky. Great late afternoon hike to get the sunset against storm king.

This was my first experience in the Adirondacs and I absolutely loved it! The trail is very nice and requires some skill when closer to the top. The view at the top is spectacular. It does get muddy when it rains. Our ascent was dry but it started raining as we begun our hike back.

Amazing views!! Go in a few weeks for an breathtaking view of Fall foliage!

beautiful place to enjoy with family
