Amazing. Hard. Long. We did go counter clockwise, thank goodness, the other way around would have been madness. We are mid 30s, fit and used to strenuous hikes. Still took us 8 hours (with lots of photos). The scramble on loose rocks felt iffy, we heard an avalanche while standing on the top in an adjacent valley. Bring plenty of water. We had rain, snow, mud, loose rocks, sunshine,... everything, so bring your layers! Breaking through the clouds to the sunshine above was glorious. Stunning 360 degrees views. The ridge hike was delightful. Overall, strenuous and no joke, be prepared and know your way.

Easy, beautiful hike!

Has a clear path. I'm extremely out of shape so I was surprise to see that it only took me 2.5 to almost 3 hours to complete (climb up).

If you pace yourself, then it's a beautiful hike up. I would definitely recommend.

Great hike to do solo if you are just wanting to get some great exercise and views at the top! There is no route-finding and given the popularity of the trail and the gondola overhead, I wasn’t at all worried about wears. The pooch loved it.

lots of switchbacks!! Quite challenging and some great food at the top to enjoy :)

quick hike to complete in an hour. take the "more difficult" route for a more scenic hike and awesome gain elevation near the waterfall to the top. i would recommend you come back the way you came vs doing the "easy" route back down; it's boring but understandably save for those that need a level way to walk. beautiful view of canmore. don't forget to carry your bear spray. :D

great hike! great view :) on a snowy day

Only completed the portion of the route up to Lillian Lake. Approximately 13kms round trip. Lovely route, following the creek a majority of the way. 10 walking bridges on route. Path is mainly rolling hills but near the approach has a sudden steep incline to the lake. The lake is a great photo op. Brought the dog and he loved it until he became a bit tired near the end of our return back. Took about 2hr 15mins there and 1hr 45mins back.

Great hike! We did it in the middle of winter and it was fairly slippery. We slid down on our bums the whole way back and it made for some amazing memories ;)

Stunning lakes! Quick and easy hike :)

An easy trail to follow. Well signed.

Wish this trail was closer to my home. It wasn’t easy to find and stay on the correct trail so we ended up blazing our own. Turned out to be more difficult than it could have been but we still loved it! When starting out, definitely go to the right and you’ll be on the correct trail. Seems like a common mistake.

We did this hike yesterday morning, it took us 4 round trip to the helipad including lunch at the top. Nice inclined up with a few sections of steep and a boulder field cross. Views from the top are amazing, on one side you have Canmore and on the other side alpine meadow where we saw a family of grouse.
Hiking poles and boots are highly recommended.
We started hiking at 8:40 and nobody was there, we saw a whole bunch of people on the way down.

One of my all time annual favorites; any weather or any season. Always best counterclockwise.

Great place to hike for any age. Make sure you have proper footwear as it is quite rocky - a lady making her way up had fallen and hurt her ankle (hope you are doing ok!) If you go in the late morning/early afternoon it's quite busy all the way up to the waterfall, take a left and follow that trail into a nice open spot with inuksuks and hoodoos, we stayed in that area for half an hour and didn't see many others.

Sept.9/18 completed with a group of three. The hike took us 3 hours with a 20 min stop at the top. 360 degree views at the top of mountain ranges and barrier lake on one side and prairies on the other. This hike is suitable for all ages - we passed people ranging from 5-70 year old, and lots of friendly pups! The trail is wide the whole way except the last 30 metres. Fantastic hike!

Very well marked and comfortably wide trail. My family of 5 did the counter-clockwise loop in 5 hours with a few stops along the way. Very scenic and well worth getting to the very top (small scramble). Watch young children and pets at the top as there are many precarious spots where one could fall off a cliff. Bring lots of water - there's one spot on the way along the Jewel Pass Trail to collect.

Closed for another month :(

Great hike! Steady, well marked trail.
We did it counterclockwise, nice tree views on the way up.
Not hard at all!

This ones on my top five under six. Beautiful quick incline all the way up, trails are quite clear; lots of foot traffic. If you make it to the flag at the peak the views are spectacular.
On a side note if you head right at the top you can also do Miners Peak so you can check off two amazing hikes in one day trip. Happy hiking.

It’s a nice hike but would be neat in summer when there is water flowing in the creek/river. Go right to the cave and climb up to it.

My go-to for a quick but rewarding trip if you have limited time.

Great hike through mostly trees and a great creek. All signage good even if one for Praire Link was written with a marker.
I was hoping for a link to Prairie Mountain but didn't see one. Guess I'll have to go back to get Prairie ⛰ done.

Très touristique!!

Expérience incroyable! Quel ascension! Un vrai bonheur! La vue est incroyable!!

good one to do this afternoon with my dog (hot day) as the path is the shade (treed) most of the way. we missed the trail head so had to back track a little. parked on the left near the powderface sign, hence missed the start as no signage of when to take the path to the left... its open and straight up! will do again, but when it's less smoky so can enjoy the view at top.
