Absolutely a beautiful hike. We did the hike on Sunday January 20, 2019. Perfect weather, very easy to moderate hike. Very well maintained and well marked. Recommend to do.

Great hike especially for January. Literally got bit by mosquitos... it felt like summer. My brain was confused. It was a killer on the knees coming down but we didn't do the loop due to the sun going down and not having a lot of time because they close the gate at 4:30pm.

One of the toughest hikes I have done ! Great work out , I did it in 44 minutes

This trail has everything you’d want in a hike. Water features, amazing outlooks, some challenging stretches. Definitely recommend. Wasn’t as crowded as I was anticipating.

Great exercise, and a view that makes the climb worth it! Bring snacks and water!

Hike/run took 1 hr 50 min.

too many tourists.

too many tourists aviod. Do Baden Powell instead to mount Seymour Hwy instead

Easy to moderate hike: easy in terms of technical skills required but moderate in terms of fitness level. There are lots of steps which are very well maintained and the only way to get across three creeks and gorges. Beautiful, tall trees and a wonderful view at the end. In all, a very well maintained trail with lovely scenery along the way to a beautiful viewpoint.

Last time I hiked this trail was 30 years ago - much has changed. Crushed gravel laid on potentially muddy sections, bridges over creeks and hand railings on steep side slopes. Great accessible trail for all abilities.

I learned 2 things today that reacquainted me with the Westcoast rain; 1) touch screens on cellphones don’t often work and 2) OR Foray Rain Jacket and matching rain pants work awesome!

So many steps

Hike this trail today. Trail conditions are still very good. There has been a dusting of snow which starts about 4 km in on the trail. The temperature was quite cool 3c some icy spots also. Many people starting up the trail very late, many not so prepared. All in all, great hike.

Easy trail. Not much for views or amazing vistas, but perfect for those times when you have only a couple of hours and want to stretch your legs, get some fresh air. I've done this trail at least a dozen times and still enjoy it. We usually go clockwise around the lake to get the minimal bit of elevation out of the way first. Sometimes we pack a lunch to enjoy at the picnic area at the north end of the lake.

It typically gets quite busy, so we usually try to get on the trail early. Lots of people, lots of dogs (about half of which are running off-leash). The busy-ness is the only reason for my rating of 4/5 stars. The trail itself is great.

Easy Trail

Hiked on Dec 8th! Not enough snow to snowshoe but the trail gets very icy the higher up you get. We didn't have spikes or crampons but definitely bring them if you have them. Many areas were inches of solid ice hidden beneath a dusting of snow so it was very sketchy and there was a lot of slipping. It was still a fun adventure! On a clear day I imagine the view is still spectacular (but it was super cloudy for us).

4X4 with a decent clearance to the trailhead. From thereon, a good hike to the peak and if the weather is clear and sunny, you'll be rewarded with a good view otherwise, a good hike!

Hiked yesterday. There is snow along the entire trail. The trail was packed down, so there was no need for snowshoes. It was quite icy and slippery. Wearing spikes would have made the hike much easier and safer. The view from the top was stunning.

Great quick hike but way too busy.

great Trail for a half day hike with some good conditioning and what A View From The Top. Outstanding restaurant and bar to relax in when you're done. Perfect playground in Vancouver's backyard

What a hike!
Beautiful drive to the trailhead; well maintained roads and no snow.
The trail is very well maintained and has multiple outhouses throughout the trail to the the lake, as well as some at the lake in the Campground areas.
There was no snow at the beginning of the hike, but it didn't take long before we hit snow. The snow was dry and crunchy so it was not too slippery on the way up, I did use (and highly recommend) microspikes on the way down.
It is a decent climb up, definitely gave my legs a good workout! We started on the trail around 930am and made it to the lake camping area right around 1230/1240pm. Had a quick snack and some tea in the shelters (so cool that they have these!!) before heading back down. We hustled back down in 2 hours (thanks microspikes!).
The lake was absolutely beautiful and the blanket of snow made everything feel quiet and peaceful. I will definitely do this one again!

I’ve done it a good number of times. The best workout ever if you’re up to the challenge.

Left the lake at about noon on Sunday. There is about a foot of snow at the lake and about as much at Taylor meadows. The trail is clear from rubble creek up until about the 4 or 5 km mark. After that it’s pretty well packed snow. Can be a little slippery so boots with good tread or spikes are a good idea if you want to make it all the way to the lake.

Great trail. Last time we did it on November 17. Great views, lots of snow, but still doable.

I'd say it's our toughest one-day hike so far. 30km, 1600m elevation. ~40% covered with snow. Took us around 12hr with all the stops. I guess we could've go faster, but there were so many spots, where we wanted to stop and just enjoy the views.

Many people couldn't make it to the top, cause of snow.

Gators, crampones and warm waterproof boots are required.
