Very short hike, but steep going up the steps. Every person we saw on the way up said it was worth the climb and it absolutely was. I haven’t seen very many falls to have much to compare it to, but it did have that...WOW this is so awesome effect on us both. We even saw some people on their way back down, who had made it to the falls in flip flops, which I would not recommend, as it can be slick on the rocks after the steps part of the climb. I’d go again if in the area.

Breath taking views from the top! Slippery when wet, gets real muddy in the rain. Wear appropriate shoes.

There is a paved steep pathway to the observation deck. Not far but steep. Beautiful view from the top. Take the clingmans dome bypass trail back down to the parking lots it’s worth it. I wish I knew there was an adjacent trail before I saw the ranger at the deck.

Fantastic views! It was very hard to find the trail. We went up the opposite way as recommended to us due to recent rain. It was really tough to climb up in spots. There are ropes to use most of the way. More like climbing than hiking in places. Really fun!

The hike to the top is very steep but the views are amazing and so worth it! Parking is a challenge.

Absolutely loved this beautiful trail! High Falls is a BEAST and easily one of the most impressive waterfalls we've ever seen! The trails were nice and wide, some pretty steep incline between Hooker Falls and Triple Falls, and while there were no trail blazes noted, it was easy to find and stay on trail due to signage. Highly recommend this hike- it was beautiful! Full trail review + more pics coming soon to our hiking blog at www.Wander-Full-Life.com

We hiked the first week of November 2018. Great trail, beautiful colors with the leaves. The day was awesome, mid-60's. The trail was nice, a little mud from recent rain, tree roots and rocks in the trail. well marked to Hen Wallow Falls. Round trip was about 4.2 miles. This trail is highly recommended, we would definitely hike here again.

Nice hike on old road bed. Great views. I agree with the difficulty rating only because I was carrying a 30 pound toddler in my pack. It really isn't too bad. The hike down was almost worse because of all the loose rocks hidden by leaves.

Amazing hike! We hiked in and camped in the wooded section just off the summit and hiked back out in the morning. I had read that camping was prohibited on the summit, but there were dozens of tents set up. Very popular spot!

Easy hike up to the Falls with a breathtaking view. It is mostly steps which makes it possible for all levels. Bench area midway for rest.

Lover's Leap Loop trail is a relatively short loop hike that follows the French Broad River out of downtown Hot Springs, NC. The trail goes quickly from a flat stroll along the river to a somewhat rigorous hike up the mountain, but your effort is rewarded with amazing views of the river and valley through which it passes. A number of rock outcroppings including "Lover's Leap" allow you to take in the beauty of the valley and the mountains beyond or just take a breather and rehydrate. Due to it's relatively short loop, this hike provides plenty of opportunities to stop and take in the sights if sections become rigorous.

Words can’t describe it!

the most beautiful falls in a short hike. steep- but the steps are very helpful. past the stairs can be muddy and lots of roots and rocks, but with a walking stick it can help you navigate and is very simple. a wonderful bridge is at the top to see the sight. the view never gets old.

Was a great hike. Steady climb was a workout but not as tough as I was expecting. Very slick in some spots with the leaves covering up wet rocky spots though. Fire tower views fantastic!!

Scrabble up the rock side on the stepped rock path to the left as you come in. Ropes are there and you’ll need them. Continue on trail for easier climb.

Gorgeous trail and views

Amazing hike... long with no real hard climbs.. the view from the top is well worth it!!!!!!

While we had no view at the top due to weather, the drive up was beautiful! The hike is an asphalt path which was fine for footing. Saw many people in street shoes as opposed to hiking shoes. Be aware on a wet day it might be slick coming down in street shoes. I’d do this again on a clear day.

Very accessible and scenic, therfore a bit busy. The first half went by the waterfalls and the covered bridge. It was nice to complete the loop, because even though the second half was less scenic it was a nice quiet stroll through the woods without the crowds.

Great short hike, but I would not rate it as easy. You are still hiking up a mountain. Good for most skill levels, but if you are out of shape you will struggle a bit.

10/31/18 - Lots of forest walking and steady climbing until you reach the Mt Cammerer trail. The leaves were as close to peak as I could’ve hoped and weather was perfect. Just shy of 2:30 on the climb from the ranger station to the tower and I rushed return trip in 1:27 (with a bit of double-stepping). The views were incredible and worth the fasted effort. GPS clocked total distance at 11.5 miles.

Beautiful narrow, rocky, root-filled path. We hiked on Nov. 1 and the colors were spectacular as was the view of the river. Path was easy to follow even though there were some overgrown sections. The view of the railroad tracks traversing the river was a very nice sight.

Not too strenuous of a hike, except for the quick incline. Go early morning and you’ll be the only ones up there!

This was a great waterfall but definitely not easy.

Excellent easy hike. Love this place and so does the dog!

Nice short hike to a beautiful waterfall. The steps are well built with hand rails but I recommend a walking stick for added stability.
