Cool scenery with a variety of terrain obstacles. Very easy to get lost.

Fun trail with beautiful views. Trail is a little narrow at times and we’re sharing the road with bikes, hikers but no problem if you know your vehicle!

We love to come here! Great trail for new drivers but still fun for those experienced!

Altogether a beautiful trail. I took my 2017 Jeep Cherokee Latitude with 29" tires through here and then onto the San Jacinto truck trail all in 2wd with no problem whatsoever. The sights were amazing. Came across a few other trucks going the opposite way, but it isn't a problem as long as you're paying attention to your speed.

Such a super easy, fun trail with amazing views. There is also a cool area on top for camping.

Just to clarify here:

Maple Springs Truck Trail is OPEN. End of Silverado canyon.

Bedford truck trail is OPEN: Corona, behind a housing development.

Main Divide Road WEST is OPEN: this is the side towards Corona that takes you to Beek’s place and Sierra Peak.

Main Divide Road from Ortega Highway to Santiago Peak is CLOSED: no time limit on opening, the gate is locked with a ‘fire hazard, permit entry only’ sign on either side. Just to be clear.

Rode my Africa twin and almost die due twice because of dune buggy that going 40+mph through corners.
Highly recommend to remove ear protection on this trail, look out for mountain biker going +40mph downhill, lookout for slow moving vehicle when speeding through the downhill.

This was really cool!! When we went today there was not one person out there and the weather was amazing, no trash or graffiti here! Just remember, if you feel like you’ve gone too far, YOU HAVE. The trail where you turn is really close to where you park. I could see my car from the stairs. From the parking area you only hike about 0.2 miles and then turn right where those brown posts are that say “no motor vehicles.”

Closed till Sept 2019 per post

Beautiful, trail is moderate. We made it in a jeep jk, our friends were in a stock Tacoma. I would go again, it did get really cold at night.

It was my first experience intentionally off roading, however, I have driven off road before when on the beach or looking for trails. This was no different. I had a blast even though it was easy. The scenery changes the higher you go. I made it all the way to the top and back down in about 4 hours with regular photo stops in my stock 2018 Subaru Crosstrek. Got my pass at the OHV office in Glendora and drive up. You need a permit to go up (it’s free) and a code will be provided to you to unlock the gate entrance. I went up on a Tuesday for sunset and was the only vehicle up there so I had a blast.

This is one of my new favorites! I made it with a stock Chevy K1500 and 32" tires. The rocks are sharp so I'd suggest making sure you have good tires, but ground clearance requirements aren't too bad. I didn't find the last switchback to be anything overly difficult either, but I have a regular cab short bed. I might think differently if trying it with a longer wheelbase, though I suspect it's still manageable.

It’s really easy the first miles you can do it with any car. After you see a sign and another route if you go right it gets moderate, you don’t need 4x4 but you should have a lifted truck because there’s a lot of rocks and holes, the view is really good. I took my Range Rover and I had a good time.

good trail for beginner mtb riders its about 7 mile up hill climb before you catch a glimps of some shade to cool off in take but all in all i would go back again

Ease and not much traffic.

Very nice scenery, but the trail was super easy not moderate. A motorhome can easily make it through! I was expecting a few challenges for the jeep, but it was a dusty fire road with lots of ruts and bumps that made 5 miles seem like 10 miles.

*very short hike
*hiked in .3 miles and out .3 miles
*rocky and sandy hike (basalt rocks everywhere)
*climbed up & down the tunnel
*saw the scenic cinder cones

Only negative is all the trucks and motorcycles. A very dusty trail due to that... otherwise it’s a great hike with great views... nice trees!

A great hike with amazing views at the top on a clear day! Need to be in good condition.

Fun day trip with my buddy and our wives. A novice off-roader, had a fun time. Not much change in elevation. Flat and rocky but the trails winded around mountains/hills and made for an adventurous day. Stopped under a rock wall and had lunch. Was 90 degrees, not horrible. Didn’t need 4WD. Enjoyed the loop, only saw (passed) one vehicle, plenty of room to do so throughout.

beautiful place to lose yourself.
