was here the morning of 4/15/18, boot pack stopped less then a mile from the lake but with no snowshoes was too much with just poles. Will check it out again soon.

Amazing, breathtaking views. Many wonderful picture opportunities. Short, easy, well maintained trail. Convenient parking. Great trail.

Great climb! I recommend microspikes and poles, still lots of snow on the last mile. I took the old trail up and down.

Be prepared for snow

Definitely a tough hike. Went up the old trail and down the new. Old trail was pretty wet/muddy for the first 1.5miles. snow and ice the last mile. Snow was super soft the last half mile push and was tough even with microspikes. the new trail seems exceptionally easy albeit long after the steep climb up. Fun and challenging trail though.

Heading back soon as I was unable to complete due to work ;( Expect this trail to take a minimum of 3 hours at a decent pace (3 mph average)

Leg Day!!! A nice challenge. The journey is definitively worth the destination here! You'll be glad you did this one. Fair warning, the water is freezing cold! Even in July.

More for site-seeing and not as much hiking of course. The hike has beautiful views and is worth the short trek. They have a lot of narrow walk-ways so if you have dogs who get excited around other dogs or people just be aware that it's a tight fit, especially if your dogs get aggressive around other dogs (just be aware).

Beautiful trail! Definitely worth a visit. Go off the main trail to some of the side trails for stunning views

Awesome..made it today inspite if severe snow storm & rain...

Beautiful! One of our favorite hikes to add to the list. It takes awhile to get there from Forks (1.5hr) but it was worth the drive. We saw TONS of bald eagles during the drive so that was awesome! The hike itself is easy, light rain, trail had water/muddy so wear boots but overall the trail was really nice. It was a little foggy but you still had good views. Very few people were there so that was a plus. Definitely will come back to this place.

I went in October and the view was beautiful. The colors of the leaves were just changing and very vibrant. You can see the NYC skyline once you get to high point of the trail. The trail was very moderate and anyone could do this trail!

Done it for first time twice in one day part of our training for Himalayas. 8.000 ft vertical gain and descent in a day is not bad. The trail is great experience and training ground to. The old trail requires a level of fitness but is doable for a beginner in shape. Amazing you have perfect phone signal.

Spikes were definitely needed. I wish I had poles. Old trail was very icey and hard to manage with how steep it was. It was still very satisfying to make it to the top. My Fitbit tracked close to 4 miles up the old trail and 6 miles down the new.

Did this in August with some friends and it was so much fun! Definitely recommend starting early because it took us a while, especially since we did bridal falls first. This trail is hard with tons of switch backs and a lot of uphill stairs. If you are somewhat fit, you will be fine. The lake is nice to swim in during the summer time as it is completely clear and cold. Reminds me of Lake Twenty-Two but you can’t walk around it on a board walk :) Bring lots of water and snacks because there are a ton of places to take a break and look out at the landscape. Highly recommend for those of you who want a challenge!

Simply beautiful!!! Bring microspikes.

Hard but worth it

Long drive from the Seattle area. Went in early March. The trail is 1/2-1 mile long downhill. When you get to the bottom there’s many different trails you can explore leading to different views of the caves and ocean. Trail was slightly muddy so boots would be advised unless you don’t care about getting your shoes dirty.

This is one of my all time favorite hikes, its so beautiful!!!

very easy and well maintained. Also incredibly beautiful!

I live by this hike and it's my favorite I do it year round. I've seen all ages do this hike

The drive from Port Angeles was very long. The beautiful weather when we left wasn't nearly as beautiful when we got there. The hike was short and sweet. Not too difficult. the views were amazing. We can say that we have seen them but not sure I'd do it again.

Great trail - steep but worth the climb. Microspikes are a must now, poles would have been nice too. Definitely a little windy up in the boulder field, but totally doable.

Steep hike, particularly in the winter with lots of snow. Bring snowshoes if going in the winter, but you can make it without if you know what you’re doing. Amazing views on a clear day. Even a frozen lake is worth it.

Old trail up. Great workout. Packed snow in a trail too narrow for snowshoes. Summit is snow covered rocks and boulders so can’t use snowshoes there either. A bit icy towards the top, I had yaktrax but I wish I’d had microspikes. Ok the new rail down, seems long with lots of switchbacks. My favorite hike in the PNW so far.

This is a great trail highly recommend doing it, it is moderately hard however the view is definitely worth it!

Absolutely stunning. Easy trail, with a charming wood plank trail to look outs around the cape. The most beautiful place to watch the sunset.

Very pretty. View of NYC skyline was cool. This hike is as good as any in the lower ADKs and one of my fave Jersey hikes.
