Scenic drivingGreat!Rocky

Trail was perfect! Easy to hike, rocky but easy to climb, minimal mud, great views!! No equipment (spikes or poles) needed! I got there at 8:20am on a Monday and didn’t see anyone on the way up, hung out at the summit for a while, the trail started to get crowded around 10 or 11am. 10/10 recommend, especially since Mt Si has so much snow rn.

HikingGreat!

Saw a garter snake! Hike was good. We went in August, the waterfall was in trickles. We plan to give another go when the falls is in full glory.

Got to the parking lot at 11 am on Monday and there were 4 other cars there. I only saw 4 people total in the trail and it was so peaceful! Snow higher up and would highly recommend microspikes or you will be sliding around on the snow. Can't beat the views, even the highway noise did not bother me.

Trail was pretty easy with switchbacks just at the earlier section of the trail. Just be sure to check for ticks on your way out. Did a quick check but found one later when I got home.

Slushy after snow but the trees were beautiful. We didn’t get a view at the top but the jagged rock faces were still stunning.

For context, we entered via the road right next to Halemanu with our 4x4. I highly recommend going this route if you have one (but don’t attempt with a regular car because you will get stuck for sure). When we reached the end, we parked and made our way into Canyon trail. Definitely recommend taking the short detour to Cliff view. All in all, trail wasn’t bad if you’re an experienced hiker. Some muddy parts but nothing crazy. The view of the falls was a little disappointing because you can see 2 small drops and only the top of the bigger part (barely). Make sure to look at Waipoo falls via one of the lookouts on your way off the mountain because it’s super satisfying to see where you had just hiked!

This is a great trail. Please note that is it not illegal to park near the woodside trailhead. It’s perfectly fine to park in the adjacent neighborhood respectfully, it’s a PUBLIC street, NOT private. No one will be ticketed or towed as these fake signs claim. King County Parks agree FYI. Enjoy the trail people and know your rights.

Great moderate hike, patchy snow at the start of the trail and compact at the top. Spikes helped a lot, one member in my group didn’t have them and she made it work with a lot of sliding around. Trail is well marked, and little monotonous until you start getting to the lookouts which are breathtaking even on a cloudier day. No views from the balcony as we were pretty much in the clouds, but I imagine on a sunnier day it’s awesome.

Have done this hike several times, all seasons. Nice day, low clouds, bit of drizzle, lots of fresh snow. Put spikes on ~ 2km in, spikes & poles highly recommended. You can get up without them and slip & slide your way down but why risk getting hurt?! Flat out beautiful, ~6 feet of snow at elevation. There is a major blowdown on the way up, there is a rope to get around it but it’s a bit of a tricky bit. The trail around the lake is not broken, need snowshoes but frankly with the avalanche risk on the Mt. Pilchuk side of the lake probably wise to avoid it for a while. Snow in the parking lot but passable even for a passenger car with 2WD. Got there ~10:00, lots of space. Usual collection of folks in sneakers & grossly underprepared for winter hiking, yet another Darwinian moment.

I wore spikes and had my poles and it was rough. Compact snow was extremely slippery. People were sliding everywhere. We had to sit and slide down the ice packed stairs as did many others (you go fast!) because you would slip and fall otherwise. Would not recommend this for kids at all right now and definitely wouldn’t attempt without spikes and poles. We made it to the top and the view was breathtaking but it was a lot of work and sketchy to get there! Be cautious!

Trail was slushy on the way down from the rain. My dog and I got there around 730am and finished at 12pm. It was a great day! I didn't use any trekking poles and slipped a few times with crampons on, mostly due to my dog pulling I'm sure!
