Great workout. Trail was in good shape. Fitbit claims equal to 140 flights of stairs

Biked trail in a few hours easy.

This trail has everything you’d want in a hike. Water features, amazing outlooks, some challenging stretches. Definitely recommend. Wasn’t as crowded as I was anticipating.

Good workout...great hills. Best to wait a bit after it rains...very sticky

It’s a wonderful trail with many entrances, a fun Kids Park, à couple of Dog Parks. There’s a Waves & a Starbucks downtown for a nice break.

Great exercise, and a view that makes the climb worth it! Bring snacks and water!

Fantastic short, steep workout in the forest, topped off with a beautiful view!

Before my review, I think I left my avalanche shovel by the first lookout of elk mountain (if not there, it's in the parking lot). If anyone has seen/moved/taken it, could you contact me at 7783189930. Thanks!

Did this hike in Dec 31. Hike up to Elk was very icy, and microspikes were useful if not necessary. Great views of the surrounding mountains and Baker as well.

Did this hike in Dec 31. Hike up to Elk was very icy, and microspikes were useful if not necessary. Beyond Elk, snowshoes were handy, but I think we could have done it without. Great views of the surrounding mountains and baker as well. We only went to the false summit of Thurston.

Extreme snowshoeing!! Not for everyone, trail is not maintained, deep snow, trees over the trail, wild animals, and physically challenged. when you finish you know what the meaning of surviving. will do it again for sure.

Probably more on the hard side, as opposed to moderate. Sections of the trail cross marshes, you will most likely need to get wet past your ankle to get through. That all being said, it's an awesome trail, and if you can hack it you should probably go.

Awesome hike. Road wasn’t that bad, but definitely needed a decent 4x4. Never found the propeller memorial but it may have been buried by snow. Last few km difficult to follow due to snow and lack of markings. Micro spikes proved very useful. Incredible views, very worth it

so great for a sun rise and dog

Did this hike with my bestie today and I gotta say, waist deep snow is not a whole lot of fun to hike in, especially when you don’t have the proper gear! But it was an amazing experience, and an even more amazing view ☺️

We were hiking for a total of about 7 hours today. after you reach elk (which is straight ice on the way up be careful), it turns into knee high snow and then thigh high, and then waist high the closer you get to Thurston!! We made it within 1 km of Thurston and had to turn around due to the snow and not having proper gear and day light.

Definitely recommend this trail though! I will have to retry after winter is over ❄️

Nice walk but a not a loop as the description says. It's an out and back line from Fort Langley to the park near the Houston Trail parking lot. Nice stretches along the river and the occasional eagle.

good grind

hiked 18th Novenmber, the sun has melted the ice so no need for crampons, just a little muddy in some spots. spectacular views all round. No water available on the trail and quite strenuous so bring lots!

very rough road parked after 4 km from trailhead didnt want to damage my car was amazing views and decent hike wish I had snowshoe would of helped

Just a nice little walk.

A cool walk!

Hard is right, even knowing the route, it gets steep, especially when you have snow, but what a sight :)

its an amazinge hiking trail! would def. recommend - but it was kind of hard to get to the top because of the ice

The area between the first set of stairs and the summit is in poor condition creating difficulties on the descent. Avoid in icy conditions unless you have good micro spikes.

Always a good hustle to the top! The view is worth every minute.

Great hike. 2 hours 40 minutes round trip. Fairly easy except near the top when there’s snow on the ground. Gets a little slippery and would recommend something to put on your boots for grip.

Tellement un beau sentier ! À faire n’importe quand :)

There will be mud! Sometimes knee high if you don’t pick the right path....
All reviews hold true when it comes to the hike being very muddy. Once you leave the creepy abandoned building it’s a chose your own adventure kinda hike with lots of ribbons and ropes that may confuse you. Other than that, it was a great hike/adventure. Probably not your first date kinda hike unless you’re testing one another.
Just remember, no matter what way you go, THERE WILL BE an anonymous amount of MUD. Good luck out there!

This is a beautiful trail that we have walked a number of times but it is now tainted by the fact that someone broke into my vehicle yesterday (Nov 3/18) and stole my wife’s wallet. The lowlife also emptied the change from my ashtray. No windows were broken and the vehicle was locked up afterwards which leads me to believe that it was done with a slim jim (tow-truck driver’s tool).
I should mention that this was at the lot off McKinnon Cr.

Be cautious out there folks. We are seasoned hikers who slipped up and left something of value hidden away and not on our person. Nothing was left in sight. This was the job of someone who probably frequents this location looking to rip off hardworking families. Hopefully this headache doesn’t happen to you.
