Beautiful!!

I am not from this area. I along with several other cars pulled over and parked in front of the gate right off the highway and waited for the gate to open. I read online and it says that it works off sensors and opens as several cars leave. After seeing about 20 cars leave and it never opened I got frustrated and decided to try my luck by going up the highway and turning around and entering from the other side. There is no gate on the other side. You go straight in. Beautiful waterfall.

Definitely an hour well spent, but the views from the top were obstructed by trees. We spent more time admiring the views from the trail than we did at its peak.

Amazing

Nice hike and views on a clear day! Amazing two guys built this in 3 yrs. The hired technical guy was buried in the little cemetery east of the rock, left on hot springs rd for the rest of the story.

I'd suggest going to any of the other waterfalls in the area.

This is extremely packed with tourists, and the top of the trail is closed due to fire damage.

Pretty cool hike! Not for the faint of heart. My friend didn't make it to the top for her fear of heights :( However, it was rainy and she didn't have very stable shoes on. There are some spots that have great lookouts even better than the very top. So if you are nervous, you will still see some amazing views even if you don't go all the away up.

I'm afraid of heights but due to other Hikers, they helped me overcome. There are rails to hold on to as you go up the path if you need to sturdy yourself. I was grateful for such a trail to allow a novice like myself to enjoy the view. The trail kind of wraps around the Rock and one spot was just a little too much on the edge for me. But the value of the many Hikers worked perfect for me as an encouragement. Beautiful sights the whole way!

As of now, the old highway is closed due to the Sept 2017 fire that burned though. The view of the waterfall is gorgeous but i does get really crowded. Was able to hike up to the bridge, but any further hiking was closed off.

The trail is super short and currently closed. Not a bad trail but the bride and waterfall get very crowded as the day rolls on. I recommend going early. Right bow everything is fenced off, I would wait until the trail is open and the area has had some chance to regrow after these fires

Quick but worth it. stunning views, way too busy

Great falls to see if you haven’t check it out before. Crowded with tourist but it is a sight to see and enjoy. Many of the trails are closed off due to the fire from 2017.

Beautiful. Sad it was closed at the end of the bridge. Hopefully it will be open next time. Lots of people too.

Beautiful views and falls. Well marked and paved. Was bummed the trail was closed at the bridge. Still worth seeing the falls. Parking was a breeze because we went early.

Love Beacon Rock, it’s in our “backyard” and we grew up hiking it many times. We took our kids for the first time last week. It’s straight up via switch backs all the way up, but there are many viewing points where you could stop for a rest. (Our five year old complained quite a bit and wanted frequent rests). The top viewing area is very small, not many people will fit together up there. But it’s worth the hike for the view! And the downhill is fairly easy. Love that there are restrooms at the trailhead. You will need a Discover Pass to park here.

Well paved and easy walk up to the bridge. Well maintained.

Prepare to get wet! Fantastic hike along and in a creek. Beautiful scenery as you hike through a canyon, climb over a huge log jam and wade through the water to reach a cascading waterfall at the end of your hike. Highly recommend!

Easy trail, well paved, quite a bit of incline. The river that flows into the waterfall at the top is very fun to play in. The water is nice and cold to cool you off after the hike.

The waterfall itself is magnificent, and the bridge adds a unique vantage point and looks pretty cool in photos too. I gave it 3 stars because unless you come super early or super late, you’re going to be with hundreds of other people. If you can manage to come when there’s little to no crowds, it’s easily a 5 star waterfall.

We visited today with our two-year-old. While the hike above/after the bridge is closed, we had a nice quarter-ish mile walk up to the bridge, which is a main viewing point of the falls. Had a kid in a carrier backpack going up the hill, so the round trip was brief, but still made us break a little sweat. Uphill walk but nicely paved. Expect a crowd on the bridge. Parking lot leads right to the falls, so you can’t miss it. Only giving four starts bc main hike was closed and the first viewpoint should be marked as a separate east hike.

#1 favorite hike to show friends and get them excited about hiking.

This is one of the shortest hikes I've done that still gives you high-up Gorge views. If you exercise regularly, it's an easy climb. The trail did get fairly crowded with families around 11 am (I went on a Friday), so go early or during the week if you don't want to be passing someone on every switchback.

Great hike, really cool history, and beautiful views.

Went early in the morning, less crowded. Fantastic view from top. Lots of switchbacks.

Trail Is Still Closed At This Time. The Historic Columbia River Highway is Closed Until Further Notice. This Includes Trails Between Bridal Veil Falls and Multnomah, and Trails Between Multnomah and Ainsworth State Park. The Road Is Only Open To State Troopers, Game and WildLife Patrolmen, and Residents That Live On That Road. Anyone Caught Trying To Hike Said Trails Are Fined. This Is All Due To The Bad Fire They Had Last Year And Several Told Me They Aren't Sure When It Should Be Open. One Trooper Told Me It's Looking Like It Will Be June 2019. :( That Means Oneonta George, Oneonta Falls, Horsetail Falls, Ponytail Falls, Larch Mountain Overlook, Fairy Falls, & Wahkeena Falls Are All Closed Until Further Notice. If You Are Looking For Alternatives, You Can Look Into Multnomah Falls & Trails, Latourell Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, and Vista House. You Can Also Take A Drive To Ramona Falls.

Arguably the best views of the gorge are from this trail. Located on the WA side of the gorge it's grown in popularity since I first hiked it. Yes, I'm terrified of heights. Yes, I went suuuuper slow but once I got going the hike became easier and more enjoyable. On a cloudless day the view is out of this world. I found the history of the rock very fascinating and it blew my mind that I was climbing the exposed inner core of a prehistoric volcano. Read the signs when you go if you have little ones. It adds an extra dash of fun.

WARNING: Too busy as we were passing through. Exit 28 currently does not go through to the lodge. The road is closed. We heard from others that the bridal veil falls we stopped at we’re just as pretty, but not as tall.

For great views of Beacon Rock, try the LITTLE Beacon Rock trail across the road; be sure to scramble to the top of the peak on your right at the end of the easy trail

This was my first time going and it was amazing! Beautiful views and all of the other hikers were friendly and said “Hi” when going past. At the top were a few squirrels who came up to me while I was munching on snacks! They were a little hungry.
