Added it on to the Mt. Sanitas loop to make the hike longer (4 1/2 total). Nice way to start. Parking lot had plenty of space at 8 am.

Took Jacob and Garrett. Beautiful views!

Awesome hike great views along the way and is challenging hike. Steady elevation to the top. Reward on the way down, plus you can view the Continental divide view! Highly recommended this one!

easy and beautiful

Would do this again.

Nice trail - moderately difficult. A lot of small rocks, so be sure to wear good shoes. Conditions today were very foggy so couldn't see the continental divide. The switchbacks were nice because you could see where you started from with each level. One section that wasn't very well marked was around the wooden bridge. Be sure to take the bridge and don't go towards the left which puts you under some metal bunker looking object and then into a very rocky section.

No rattlesnakes seen today, was probably way too cold / no sun for them.

Nice trail for a leisurely stroll. Super short but beautiful at the top. Great for a short morning walk. Kid-friendly!

The whole family loves it! Great for kids, the views are gorgeous from every point. No dogs, no strollers, but lots of people in the Fall time for Aspens!

dogs are only allowed on leash for the first 3.1 miles, before the trail cruises into Rocky Mountain Wilderness Area, where pets are not allowed at all. I was really looking forward to this hike, and thus, pretty annoyed when I arrived to the very clearly marked trailhead. the stream along the trail was completely dry in late Sept, not that surprising, but still disappointing. & there was little to no foliage along the trail that i COULD do with my pup, which I was looking forward to, but that's not the trail or AllTrails' fault that there weren't many aspens along the route. I wish I'd planned my day currently.

Nice short hike, we went up the rocks to get to the top and hiked around the rocks for a while. Perfect for pictures! The rocks are gorgeous. Nice hike for being so close to town. Surprisingly, we only ran in to one person while we hiked the whole time. Good workout! Not for elderly or overweight for sure!

Beautiful views at the top make this worth it. The hike itself is pretty and a decent quick workout, but there are prettier hikes in the park if you have limited time. I did this one with my dog since dogs aren’t allowed to hike in the park. It is a dry trail with no water sources for the pups, fyi. Wasn’t very crowded during the week. No bugs that I saw.

Fun hike, lots of people though.

The scramble at the top was too much for a 3 year old but maybe we'll do it again in a few years.

Beautiful views of the lake and surrounding mountains. A little steep but short and rewarding! Saw lots of cute muskrats swimming around in the lake.

Quiet hike on a weekday . Super easy flat terrain . Aspens looked beautiful

Pretty hike but in no way easy. To my mind "Easy" would mean I can take Grandma and Grandpa for a walk in the woods with the kiddies. This is "Easy" relative to climbing a fourteener, but it's steep and I was concerned my shoes (trail runners with tread) would hold on the rocky inclines and declines with the loose scattered rocks. As to being strenuous yes, it was a pretty good little 30 minute workout, I would liken parts of it to going up about four flights of stairs before leveling out. If you're out of shape or over weight, or elderly this is probably not a good choice. But it is surprisingly wooded for being so close to town. .

Good with the kids.

Easy hike. Terrific overlooks. The feel of this Canyon is impressive. Weekends are packed. Arrive early or go during the week.

Excellent fall hike. Actually, it’s great anytime. Enough elevation gain to feel like you got a little workout. Pretty views back toward the divide. The hotel ruins and railroad are interesting as well.

Awesome park

Great hike. Some steep parts, but overall pretty easy!

Nice hike not hard at all. Nice view

I enjoyed this trail. Much of it is through the woods so shade is appreciated on a hot day. Wildflowers we’re past time so I would like to do it in mid summer. Nice walk with dogs. Not difficult.

Beautiful scenery the whole way. Nice steady uphill climb. Moderate. One of my favorites!

Fun hike! We did a hard 8 miles in the sun and shade. Dogs loved the stream!

Amazing views for being 20 min from Westminster. Even saw a rattler!

Awesome views from overlook, highly recommend this hike. It's pretty much uphill the whole way, but the view is worth it.

Great hike with our dogs. Beautiful views!

Love the view. Shaded hike for the most part, until the last maybe ten minutes or so. Beautiful views of all the smog
