Amazing views of Rocky Mountain National Park.

took a lot longer than anticipated.....pitch black on arrival to car . hit snow ice VERY Slippery making our descent down the primitive trail downright scary! had 2 dogs almost lost one crossing a frozen waterfall...thank God my son is super fit and was able to pull her up despite the ice and yak tracks .....it was rough and scary . we have been hiking year round and would NOT recommend the primitive trail for decent. best to hike this in summer and early fall.will not forget this hike anytime soon

Great trail, snowshoed this on December 1st 2018. could have gotten away with yaks or just heavy tread hiking boots, but certain spots were deeper and icy. great trail.

Great trail!

Great hike! Nice place to take your dog for a hike.

A good mellow hike with not much uphill. Good conditions today with moderate snow and some ice underneath . Slightly disappointed there was no viewing area at the top... other than that - had a great time!

We went last week and this hike was perfect! It was sunny and cool, but still warm enough to be comfortable. The aspens are changing color - the perfect autumn scenery. We were lucky - all of the snow is fully melted!

Snowshoed this in late January. Great trail for snowshoes and dog walking.

Beautiful this time of year with the leaves changing color! It was a little confusing on where to go sometimes, so download the map if you can! Follow any arrows you see on the trees as well.

Tried to do this hike the morning we left the Mountain Park Rec Area campsite. I'm not sure if it was just us or what but we lost the trail about .5 mile in and got pretty lost. Just had to hike back down towards the campsites. Not as well marked as other trails around here are.

A bit difficult going uphill on the bike unless you're good with super technical / steep climbs. Down hill was a blast tho. Only saw a couple other bikes on the trail, but it was a Monday morning so..

An alternate route to the Crown Point B-17 bomber, started at 9 in the morning and realized we wouldn’t be back before sundown so we stopped at Browns Lake and turned around. Nice amount of elevation gain, didn’t see many other people.

We thought we were doing the easier Kreutzer trail as there are two entrance points in the picnic area that you can get on the trail. It was a bit difficult for my 8 and 10 yr olds. Lots of burned and beetle kill trees. We will come back for the easier trail and the kids can build up their strength for the harder one.

I've been hiking this trail for 45 years and enjoy it still.

Nice walk with some great places off the track along the river to enjoy. Coming back the views across the mountain range are awesome. As you descend down to the car park

Mileage on the All Trails app is inaccurate, it is closer to 5.2 miles. Counterclockwise, the descent is challenging and slippery and steep. If we do it again we will go clockwise so we can have a calmer and more enjoyable descent. $6 to park. Bring lots of water, sunscreen, a hat and rain gear. Leave the dog home so you don’t annoy other people on the descent.

I took my dog on this hike and she loved it! Tons of little streams and different landscapes. The incline is a little difficult but if you take breaks along the way it is doable :)

Loved it! This trail is very lush and green! A nice change up from all the dry dusty trails in NoCo. I went all the way to the meadows just before the dirt road, a little over 10 miles all together. I would suggest wearing bug spray for ticks and mosquitos, I found ticks on me a couple of different times after walking through the more dense parts of the trail. Pants might be a a good idea on this hike. Also it was a great bonus that I was the only person on the entire trail! Definitely going to do it again in the fall, lot of aspens!

Amazing trail that runs along the Poudre most of the way. Great views at higher elevations along the trail. Watch missing 411 documentary before or after your hike depending on how freaked out you wanna be.

Incredible hike. Road is closed for logging (:/) though and you must go to beaver creek trail head near Tom Bennett campground and sky ranch. Keep driving when you reach sky ranch and there is parking at the end of the road at the trail head. It’s about 6.1 miles to the lake from there. The first 4.5 are simple after that you start to do the incline. Well well worth it!

Great cardio workout. Steep incline. the primitive trail on the way down was a bit scary. Look for the rock markers to know you are going to right way. I had my dogs with me but had I known the way down was primitive trail I would have gone down the way I came up. That trail was very well done. No one else was out on the trail when we went. Lots of great views. Not much shade.

One of the better hikes I've been on within a short drive from Fort Collins. You essentially get to hike into RMNP from the backside, and I did not see a soul when I did it solo... only two very good sized bull moose that I watched feed for about 20 mins!! Was windy up above treeline, and it's a longer hike, so if you aren't a fast hiker, start early.

Great hike with a dog lots of shade and water!

Great hike! Good that the most challenging part of the hike is in the first mile and a half. The rest is Colorado forest and flowers at their best. My wife and I were treated to a Moose crossing our path, late in the afternoon, on the way down. I think he was startled by us and ran across, and down the path, ahead of us by about 100 feet - pretty close. It was a large (tall) buck, probably young as he was not bulked up.

Easy hike along the Poudre River. Tons of places to go off and down by the water. So happy that I brought my chacos so that I could get in the river to cool off. Made it about 3 miles in and turned around.

Beautiful hike. Fair foot traffic late on a Saturday morning/early afternoon. Wildflowers were abundant and stunning, including classic Colorado columbines. Hiked to the May Creek bridge and then back out. No snow and just a few wet/muddy patches on the trail.
