Love the Incline. Does anyone know if Barr trail is clear or if it has snow and ice? (I know it snowed yesterday, but am hoping it’ll melt off this afternoon. I don’t want to slide down Barr trail on the way back!)

It was beautiful!!! Amazing views, it was steep and snowing when we went, but the view at the end was worth it. Can’t wait to do it again during the summer

Hard going! First half straightforward, second half difficult route finding, mostly breaking trail and frequent thigh-high snow. Snowshoes would help a lot! At least there are now two sets of tracks to follow...

Lots of people- but so so pretty!!

great trail plenty of spots to rest awesome workout

I wasn't planning on coming out for this trail but I'm glad I did! From the parking area (equipped with a bathroom!) it doesn't look like much but once you get down into where the formations are it's stunning! It would definitely be great during sunrise/sunset rather than in the blizzard I got but the trails are pretty easy and it looks like you can make your own loops! I just went to the formations and back but the trail intersections were marked and there was a little incline but nothing super difficult!

Beautiful views and definitely a work out! Pack your inhaler!

4/20/18 Steeper than I expected. There’s a period of elevation in the beginning where I got worn out, then it evens out for a bit and you get excited/ relieved and the last portion steepens with large rocks.
There is a restroom about 2/3 of the way up.
There wasn’t a parking fee when I went.
The lake wasn’t frozen. This trail would be better during summer when the trees come back to life!

My Girlfriend and I completed this monster on 4/20/18! It was definitely a work out and the change in altitude was intense! First time in Colorado and doing a hike! The trail down was breathtaking as well! We Walked and Jogged it!

Great trail with spectacular views of Estes Park and the Rockies! Worth every step!

Kind of a crazy day today- winds reached up to 90 mph in the Denver area, and even in Estes the winds were blowing pretty bad (although not quite THAT bad). When we started off the hike, it was sunny and blue skies, with only a few clouds. By the time we got to the lake there were snow pellets slapping against our faces and we had to cover our faces as much as we could on the way down so we could see where we were going. We got pretty cold and wet, but the hike was worth it. Can’t wait to do this again in the summer!

Well for one thing it's longer than 3.3 miles the Incline it self is 1.2 miles and the loop down is one of the most Breathtaking 4 mile hikes down you will ever travel... CONQUERED THIS BEAST 4/16/18

Okay hike if you live in Colorado. However, if you are visiting or don’t get outside much- there are much better options! It was cool to see the colors, though.

The trail was, for me, steep in a lot of places. I just took it slow (I'm not accustomed to the altitude), and was rewarded with fabulous views on the way up, and a nice little lake at the top.

A very strenuous workout but well worth the view! Use Barr Trail to go down and for amazing scenery.

Amazing workout. You can use the Barr trail to hike down.

This trail was great!! The views were amazing. The only downside was the wind at the top of the mountain. My husband and I were able to set up our hammocks at the top and eat lunch though - it was wonderful! I highly recommend!

Always a good time

Definitely a strenuous climb! Take lots of breaks and water because the view and accomplishment at the top is totally worth it!!!

The first time I did the incline was just a week after I had moved here from texas, so it was tough. I workout regularly so this is a nice way to get my cardio. The feeling of accomplishment when you make it to the top is amazing!! This is definitely not a hike but a serious workout. I always take Barr trail on the way down to add some miles. I recommend it!!

Incredible! Love the dispersed camping near the trailhead. Wonderful views at every turn!

Hiked today 4/5/18. Great weather and well maintained trials. The lake was half froze over and lots of people enjoying the views along the way. Only have been to Estes Park / RMNP 3 times and next to dream lake hike this is my 2nd favorite so far!

Here’s my wonderful review of the Incline. As many have said, it’s an amazing workout. I would say that you should be in half way decent shape to attempt this. It was not entirely fun, to be honest, and I would say that if you’re wanting to go for a hike, then this is not the trail you’re looking for- try the Barr Trail. I have a piece of advice that I wish someone had told me: do NOT go down the same way: this intersects with the Barr trail at the top & halfway mark & you should use that to make your descent

Talk about a workout.. it’s quite the trek, but reaching the top is such an accomplishment. NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED!

Awesome views and fishing

This is a great trail if you have friends or family visiting Colorado. They will absolutely be fascinated with this.

Great workout! The improvements are awesome!

Super cardio workout! Not a trail for visitors that haven’t acclimated. Hard on the knees if you go back down the incline due to the Barr trail being iced over.
