Very hard, very worth it. Don’t bring your dog, it’s too much for them. The steps take about an hour, and then it’s a nice leisurely walk down the Barr trail. Beautiful!

The trail is mostly clear with some icy sections towards the top,my regular trail shoes handled it just fine. We took the bar trail back down since the ice was making me nervous. But if you have crampons/yaktrax then no worries. Wasn’t busy on a Sunday afternoon. We took our sweet time and did it 2.5 round trip. Love the views and workout.

Hiked 12/8/18 - Conditions were great. a few sections of ice/snow but mostly dry. No traction needed...just expect to be more careful on the small sections that are ice/snow covered. Hiked it with full winter loadout and completed the incline section of the route in 54 minutes. Then we took our time going down the Barr Trail. This is a great workout hike and even better if you add a summit of Rocky Mountain to it!

It does need some energy to get there, but worth it!

Love it!

loved it!

I hiked down this from Mt. Sanitas. I will definitely be back to run up!

Steady climb and overall fun run.

Amazing, beautiful worth the pain. Took my out of shape and bad knee 3.25 hours to top. Bucket list. Pace yourself. Tough trail especially when it’s icy.

My husband and baby went snowshoeing here today; it's a long-shot, but he lost his car keys. Old beat up key for a Scion tC, safety pin, house key, and a silver metal flash drive. If anyone happens out there tomorrow and sees them, please let me know! RhiannonDean07 @ gmail

Hiked the Incline yesterday. What an incredible workout. The incline was lightly snow covered with ice underneath in many spots so Yaktrax is a must. We were happy to have ours. The Barr trail on the way down was wonderful. Will do this again. 2:30 round trip was a nice comfortable pace for us.

Beautiful views. Great trail for a quick (2.5) hike, close to Denver, easy ride to get there. Not a lot of traffic on the trail which was great for our first visit here.

A little tough getting from parking to trail. Good snowpack, could get by with spikes.

Nice trail-pretty views! A little icy though when we went.

This trail starts out at an easy 450 foot slow descent. About 1.6 miles into it, the trail starts to ascend back up about 500-550 feet. Overall, the trail was easy to hike with our family including my son on my back and the slight snow conditions from a week ago that is now compacted into some icy spots. Recommend wearing hiking boots that can grip the snow/ice. Has a couple of great views along with it! The total trail length according to my Garmin watch was about 2.8-2.9 miles. Unfortunately we did not spot any big wild life, only squirrels.

Great hike, not super challenging. The trail was covered in snow 75% of the time, I wore my hiking shoes and did just fine not too slippery. Beautiful view, I throughly enjoyed it!

Probably the best shaded hike I’ve ever done!!

This incline will test your cardio! I moved here a week ago from Florida and the elevation was ruthless for me. Made it to the top in 50 minutes and the view was immaculate. I highly recommend spikes for your boots this time of year, it was slippery at certain points on the stairs up and the same in the trail down. 10/10 would hike again.

Today the trail was packed, didn't need snowshoes until that last 1/2 mile after turnoff for Lost Lake. Most of the hike was shielded from wind before getting to the lake. Super gusty today so not a fun afternoon to linger at Lost lake, but saw a few pretty views while there. It's a fun and easy to moderate level snowshoe trail.

Loved this hike! We went 11/12 and it was super snowy! A lot of people had snow shoes but our spikes worked just fine. Saw 3 large moose on the trail! You have to hike about a mile from your car to the trail head, so factor that in! Also, there was a frozen stream you could hike, however with our spikes it was a little sketchy. If you don’t want to hike the stream there is a trail to the right of the stream that goes through the woods in order to get you to the trailhead.

Snow and ice on the incline, but still very doable. I would've liked my yaktraks on the way down the Barr trail. It took me 1 hr 26 minutes to make it to the top and less than an hour down the Barr trail. I've been in Colorado for about a month - the altitude was the biggest challenge.

This was a beautiful hike that had a ton of snow today. It was a gorgeous day out and I cannot wait to do this hike again. Heads up, the road to the trailhead was snowed in and we had to walk the rest of the way.

Great views. Lovely wildflowers. Plenty of spots to stop for rest on the steeper parts. We were at Panorama Point for sunset (driving up) earlier this week and heard a mountain lion snarling!
Keep your dogs on a leash for sure! Also, if you’re going to bag the dog poo, take the bag with you! Leaving the bagged poo defeats the purpose of cleaning up after your pet!

Great trail without a lot of loose rock and fairly easy footing. Steady inclines and great views made the hike really enjoyable. Parking can be a bit tough but the hike is well worth it!

Amazing! I agree to go clockwise like everyone else said. It was a pretty steep incline, but after that it was not bad at all. The views were absolutely stunning.

Good for a local front range trail.. some hard packed snow near panorama.

WHAT A WORKOUT!!! Per the placard: 2768 steps, 2K elevation gain and .88 miles.

I am definitely out of shape and completed this in 53 minutes including a plethora of of water and quick bite breaks; after the 1800 mark I did a break every 200 steps until the 2500 mark.

There was some snow and a bit of ice on the left hand side of the stair (while going up) but nothing that made for trouble with just my vans outdoor shoes.
