Tough trail for beginners. Definately a good workout. This is also a very popular trail.

A few weeks ago I and three buddies I go to college with hiked the Conundrum Creek Trail to the Conundrum Hot Springs and camped overnight. A permit is required for overnight stays. The second day we hiked back in the late afternoon. It is a 17-mile hike round trip. There was clear sunny weather both days. The trail is in pretty good shape. It was a bit muddy in a few areas. A good pair of hiking shoes is essential. There were few others at the campsite overnight. We had the hot springs to ourselves that night. The second day we hiked a bit further south and then returned to hit the hot springs again before descending. The only people we ran into that day were an older couple on the trail passing by while we were in the hot springs and a guy and his two teenage sons who joined us in the hot springs.

I read a review that talks about people being "inconsiderate" because they were naked in the hot springs. Please note: These hot springs have traditionally been a place where people are naked. There is nothing inherently inconsiderate about this. My friends and I enjoyed being naked in the hot springs on our trip. Nothing more. Nothing less. The older couple passing by seemed shocked and shook their heads at us. The wife muttered under her breath that we could cover up when people pass by. By contrast, the father and his sons decided to join us naked in the springs and everyone had a pleasant time hanging out. Clearly the main difference between the two groups of people we met while we were in the hot springs had to do with their differing attitudes towards nudity. Please, either respect the right of others to enjoy being naked in nature or avoid the hot springs, however, do not expect others to stop enjoying this traditionally nude area because you have a problem with simple nudity!

Fun hike. Nice for beginners as it offers at least a bit of a challenge. Beautiful views.

Awesome hike. Not overwhelming hard but tough for moderately in-shape folks. Mostly climbing steps. Gorgeous view at the top.

Trail was not super tough. I would highly recommend using spikes. I did not and was fine. Just watch where you’re stepping. Though my wife did use spikes and said she felt much more comfortable coming back down. There was an incident with a dislocated hip. Not sure if it was from a fall or whatnot, but it is better to be safe than sorry. As you get further up trail you run between dry land/rocks and icy areas. The end is def worth the hike up. Just be careful!!!

Beautiful trail. well maintained and not much traffic on the trail today because of the cold may be. But the parking lot is full as there are lot of trails starting at the same place. I have parked on a close by street. It snowed a bit while I was there and it was beautiful

sick trail

large crowds, leg burner, beautiful trail and views

My favorite trail in Boulder. I do it several times a year in all different seasons. Traction is definitely a good idea in winter. Can be crowded. It is steep. But I still love it. On clear days, one can see out the expansive eastern plains, and the city of Denver in the distance appears very small and isolated.

Pretty awesome hike close to home.

This was a lovely hike, quite the ass kicker at the very end. Good workout and a wonderful view at the end.

The popularity of this trail has completely destroyed the area, there's poop everywhere along the trail & around the campsites. This place has transformed into a rocky mountain national park or emerald bay of tahoe lake situation. Aholes that don't respect anything go & pollute so the forest service now requires reservations to camp in the middle of the wilderness. Thanks people!! Crappy fake casual outdoors people ruined it for absolutely everyone, great job!!!!

we definitely got lost through here. and I mean LOST! make sure you follow the cairns and stick to the right. we ended up following a seemingly obvious path only to find ourselves climbing over boulders on the edge of a cliff... pretty wicked views though! if we wouldn't have taken that detour, it would have been a super easy and neat walk. highly recommend!

Started at trail head around 930. Was pretty packed at the arch but a great hike. Some challenging switchbacks for people like us that live at sea level. Take plenty of water!!! Gorgeous views of the flatirons and surrounding valley. The arch is absolutely stunning. Will do again when I come back to the Denver/Boulder area.

Went on a Saturday morning (10/20) around 9:00. Wasn't busy on the way up but packed on the way down. Challenging hike but nice views at the top and the arch is very cool.

Favorite trail in Boulder!

Rewarding Trail for steep ascend and rocky terrain.
Hiked on 20/10 with no snow, good footing.
Large crowds on the trail but very friendly people.

What an adventure! This trail was 9.6 miles to and from the hot springs so 19.2 miles round trip according to my iPhone health app. It was very muddy and there was lots of snow especially the higher up you go so make sure to bring reliable warming and waterproof gear. The trail was really easy to follow and the bridges were fun to cross (3 bridges total) but the altitude is something to watch out for going up. It’s true what everyone say the hike down is a cake walk. It took us 6-7 hours to get up and 4 hours to get down.

Really nice and amazing view

Amazing. As good as it gets!

Hiked this trail yesterday evening. Encountered a few slick areas, but very manageable, even without spikes. Took 2 hours there and back.

Well it was super icy today but it sure was easy if you have spikes on your shoes! Slippery for sure but if you’ve done it before you know to just keep pushing. If you haven’t done it before.. well, keep pushing! Beautiful fun tough work out. I always take the 1st and 2nd loop, i even took my parents from Texas in today and we finished it in 4 hours... beautiful in the snow if you ever wanna get it :)

Great hike. More challenging than I thought especially attempting it immediately upon arriving from the east coast. Well worth it once you get to the arch.

Great hike, but beware that it is very slippery and icy with the recent snow. I underestimated how slippery it would be on the way down and I fell several times. Definitely come prepared and watch the weather before you go!

There are many routes to the top! be aware when you finish the switch backs that run doing the creek there is a false summit. Go past the trail marker and you'll have to head down for a little bit before a short climb back up to reach the Arch.
