Very easy, well-marked trail. I hiked it with my 73 yr-old father, 8 yr-old daughter and our dog. Great for this, though be careful of alligators near the water with your dog. Also, parts of the trail aren't shaded and it can get hot, so bring water. Lots of places to stop and sit. A very nice easy hike. Main trail is marked red. Short trail is yellow. Don't miss the cypress forest boardwalk just off the main trail. It's really neat. You likely won't see another hiker.

Totally recommend!!

These trails feature a great mixture of flat and climbing. As this part of coastal Florida goes, it is not that terribly rooty or sandy. Lots of shade. Well maintained. Deer, dillo, squirrels, raccoons. Great for walking too.

Did this around Easter this year with a 3 year old strapped to my back. Nice and easy trail, but needed to forward ~6 inch deep tidal steam to compete our circuit.

Part of the circuit was still closed from a hurricane last year.

This is NOT a trail. It is a walk on a beach that is nowhere near the fort mentioned (7 miles away). If you go to St Simon Island, go see the fort and lighthouse, plus the novel downtown but, unless you want a 1/4 mike walk down a crowded public beach, pass on this supposed “trail”!

Loved this trail! This trail is a really nice mix of trees and beach. Literally, half the trail is flora/fauna and the other is the ocean. Watch out for large spider webs. Make sure you wear sun screen and bug spray.

I’ve done this one several times. It’s flat and has some cool views of the marshes.

A very nice trail. You'll go through a Maritime forest, to open fields, under heavy oaks, to sand dunes and a beautiful beach. Bring water and food. This is a very nice hike and family friendly.

Beautiful wide trails, nice river view at one end, didn’t go to the plantation but did the whole trail loop. Listed here as 2.9, but on site as 3.2 as well. Definitely would recommend!

This is mainly a bike trail with beautiful canopied and open areas. It can be a little hot in the open areas. There are two half mile trails off the pavement to the water front. Parking is $3. We took our dog so we couldn’t go on the shoreline.

Mostly shady, well cared for trails, lots of butterflies and birds, even 3 peacocks! Trail back to plantation could have been better marked as the trail to the water at the north end would require one to walk along the steep beach back to the plantation visitors center. Very well kept National park however! Well worth the time.

very nice and easy to follow. not sure why it's considered moderate though, I'd say it is easy. friendly folks along the trails also.

Great trail. Lots to explore.

This is great walk but I would rate it as Easy. The trail is well groomed, wide, an almost entirely level except for the optional hill at the end. Wonderful view of the marsh.

So much to explore. Amazing place no one knows about.

Apparently we missed 70% of the trail because the trailhead wasn’t visibly marked and the map provided by park service wasn’t much help either. We are avid hikers, for the record, and found this to be very confusing. We ended up walking on the beach for 2 miles and walking the 2 miles back to our vehicle on the bike path. This was very unpleasant. The beach was beautiful though, and extremely quiet. We found beautiful seashells and enjoyed this portion of our walk immensely.

Tons of mosquitos on this trail. They can get to the point of unbearable. Also don’t go on high tide as some of the trail might be submerged. This trail has potential but the mosquitos can be a serious problem.

decent local trail

When you are on the trail, stay to the right for easy trails. Stay to the left if you want mountain biking trails.

girls and I had a great time. youngest got to climb a tree that was in the water. part of the trial is still blocked. but it was March and we didn't have any bugs yet

A little bit of history and a wonderful nature hike! I didn’t think I would see so much here, beautiful little park. I saw it. woodpecker in the first 10 minutes of being here. Then there were alligators, turtles and fish swimming in the spring. Also saw a snake, anoles, heard and saw several types of song birds, an osprey, and a hawk. Wildflowers and trees were in bloom. The trails had a lot of tree roots sticking up, so watch for them. Overall the trails were real easy to navigate. Only one hill to go up, flat or sloping most of the rest of the hike. Bikers do use the Lime Sink Trail. Hardly anyone on the trails, made for a very peaceful hike!

I don’t think it was a moderate hike it was pretty easy but it was gorgeous!

We took my 60+ parents and our 9, 6 year old. We had a great time and were impressed with the elevation level for Florida. The only down side was the trail was right by the road taking away some of the illusion of being off in nature.

We drove up and parked. If you're not a pass holder, you'll need to get an envelope from the deposit box and leave $3. Tear off the stub and hang on your rearview mirror. I took one of my dogs on a Friday morning around 0930. We saw maybe 4 bikers. The paved trail is awesome. Lots of room for bikers to go around you. We walked about 2 miles and took a right and walked another .5 miles to the "beach side" where lots of downed trees are. It's sandy and very beautiful. People started flocking to the area around 11am. Clean, lots of trees and bushery. This will be a regular place to take my dogs for a nice and relaxing walk.

Good trail to walk

not very well marked once you get to the beach, but the driftwood area is very unique

Bring bug spray or you'll be keeping a quick pace.

there is a bench to sit on at the waterfront, perfect for a little break and a picnic lunch
