Leash your dogs. Clearly some people need to read the signs or need help reading. It’s not just about others on trail it’s also about the significant amount of drop offs and lack of depth perception they have with cliffs. Do better folks. LNT and pack it out.
Easy hike, beautiful and the bridge is amazing!
This one was absolute hell. If you don't have boots with good traction or trekking poles with spikes I DO NOT recommend hiking all the way to the summit for the next week or two. You can make it up to before the last 0.5 miles before the trail becomes very unsafe. The last .25 miles are still packed with a foot of snow and ice. By the time I reached the summit, there was also a full-on blizzard. Otherwise a fantastic trail, but certainly for more able-bodied and experienced hikers.
awesome hike ! 2/21/21 roads had some down trees but we're easily able to get around .. the trailhead is open for cars to drive up to.. someone cleared it within the last review . if you've got a beefy truck you might not fit under a thinner tree you have to drive under , but other than that it was great . muddy to be expected . worth it tho .
great hike. beautiful waterfall.
awesome
A great hike! Super muddy trail this time of year, but very rewarding. Gorgeous trail, gorgeous views, gorgeous beach.
Trail is maintained super well. Parking lot was mostly empty when we arrived, and almost full when we finished. Only accessible from rt18 right now, but that road is in good condition (the fallen trees from the recent storm have all been cleared)
Trail is not closed. It is still accessible from 18 but not from 101. It’s amazing go do it.
Road closed due to landslide 2.5 miles below trailhead. No signage in place lower down the mountain to indicate trail was not accessible.
2/17/21- The forest road getting here had a lot of downed trees and power lines. Could not park at the TH because of fallen trees on the road to it. The trail had some fallen trees that were easy to get over or around. The falls were great.
This was tough given the inclement weather. I did it in proper hiking boots but had I known what I was in for I would’ve brought spikes or skipped it. Very very slippery and treacherous towards the summit as the snow has iced over. Take extra care on the descent. Don’t bring your dog if you plan on getting to the summit, there are a lot of (2000ft) drop offs
Fun trail! Not too steep but gets the blood pumping. It is most definitely muddy. Like mud bogs muddy! I would hate to do this trail in the rain as the mud would probably get very slippery. I also did not bring the dog on this trail yesterday and I’m so glad I didn’t. I would have had a very muddy car! Waterproof hiking boots are a must!
Sunny, clear and cold. Trail was great with packed snow for only the final .25 miles to the summit. Ascended in trail runners and donned spikes for the snowy part of the descent. Downhill is always harder when it’s slippery.
Muddy. Muddy, but incredibly beautiful. Do not wear new shoes, or shoes that you wish to keep clean if you want to hike right now. That said, the mud and bogginess made me feel like a kid, willing to see how muddy I could become.
