also great for horse riding.

One Wheel XR

Only did 2 1/2 miles but very beautiful and very shaded

Wear bug spray. I think I fed half the mosquito population of Palos on our walk!

My wife and our dog went there for a mid-morning hike.

A good find in southern Illinois! Pleasantly surprised.

This trail has been expanded to more then double the length in 2017. Should noted that horses are allowed too. It can entered off Jericho Rd or Granart Rd

It's a nice hike, I guesstimate the path is two thirds shaded. I disagree with the label "moderate", this is an easy hike and the hill on the northwest side can be avoided. Rated 3 stars because of the mosquitoes and it is muddy for days after rain. Sometimes I see people with stand up paddle boards and kayaks in the lake (be prepared to carry them from the parking lot to the launch area) - I personally have not done this but it's worth the mention.

For this area this is not an easy trail. Moderate and if you aren't paying close attention it's somewhat easy to get lost. history of the woods is interesting. stay on the marked trails.

Should not be labeled easy. Maybe for hiking. Biking is only for experienced bikers. Lots of ups and downs. Lots of Rocky/Sandy terrain with many visible roots in the middle of trail. Also pourly marked. Have fun!

the trails are like riding a roller coaster, fun trails to horseback ride but not safe trails to share with bikes. to many blind curves and hills, an accident waiting to happen with speeding bikes and horses.

I had fun riding my bike here. People are nice. I will be back.

Great running trail; it was quite difficult for me. Very challenging especially with all the inclines.

this park has always been my favorite in McHenry county since I was a little girl and my uncle took me up the kames. I usually go a few time a year. never disappoints

very nice place to run with dog

Nice area to unwind and enjoy nature. The trail is maintained but very slippery in winter. Nothing complicated or technical skills needed, just a good pair of hiking boots and some water.

I have hiked sections of this trail multiple times, and this is the first time I did the whole loop. Great trail.

Great for technical trail running - up, down, rocks, ruts, roots - love it.

Good hiking. Print trail map as it would be best to have one as some of the parking lots don't have any.

went there yesterday for the first time. Beautiful place. I didn't see any trail maps or markings at all which I didn't like, but really enjoyed the peacefulness of the place.

It was bit overgrown in places but it was a beautiful trail.

NOT an easy trail.. My dogs and I walked it however there is no way I would ride on it.. too many rocks and soft spots.

NOT for road biking. Large stones on down hill grades, areas of soft sand, trails unmarked. Great for adventurous mountain bikes, moderately agile hikers, but there is no way I would call this easy.

Enjoyed the beautiful hike with a few steep climbs. Looking forward to future walks here.

An easy trail if you stay on the main path but if you get on to some of the smaller trails that branch off of the main trail it can be quite difficult.

walked it in full sun, pleasant walk with my 4 lb kitten. He had a good time to, 4 months old. 4 dogs a kind the beach all well behaved, great day, nice folks scattered on the beaches that are a little hard to get to by car.

Trail has sandy parts and dirt/stone parts. Nice mix of sun and shade with benches located throughout for rest stops. A beautiful array of insects but surprisingly I didn't see or get bitten by a single mosquito. Nice variety of flowers in all areas. Public restrooms are located at both trailheads and there is access to the beach from Dunes trail. I loved both of these trails and will definitely be back!

Tried to do the 3 mile loop. Luckily this app kept me on the trail (and road) but unfortunately it was not wheelchair accessible.
