Such a beautiful park with awesome trails. Found deer in a couple of different locations. One of my favorite places to hike.

Great trail. Has some heavy wooded areas and slightly prairie as well. Trail follows different drainages in and out of various draws in the park. Half of the trail is multiple use so watch out for horses. A great fall hike. This is a state park so an entrance fee is required.

Very nice out and back. Some pretty good little hills, but nothing crazy. Beautiful fall hike.

Hiking

Great trail. Well marked and maintained. Lots of wildlife and bald eagles were active today as well. There were a fair amount of people in the park but if you go during the week there would not be be a crowd. It is worth noting the lower section in the flood plain will change path each year and will not follow original trail since it is cut differently each year. Great path

HikingGreat!

Really nice clean trails. There are many different loops to check out, with views of the prairie, river and some woods. There was a TON of people, with the close proximity to Sioux Falls. I prefer a little more solitude but it is still a beautiful park.

HikingBugsGreat!

This is an awesome place to hike! There are a few steep hills, but overall it's fairly easy. The woods are beautiful and the trail was mostly clean and nicely maintained. It's definitely buggy so don't forget insect repellent. I hiked through in August but would definitely like to come through again in the fall when the foliage changes.

Backpacking

Great hike. I went out from the campground with a full pack and was able to hike about two hours before getting back to set up camp. It provides a great opportunity for a shake down backpaking trip or a first backpacking trip.
