Beautiful trail. Not crowded for Tuesday hike. We took our dogs and it seems like everyone else we saw on the trail did the same.

This is a short hike with a great, refreshing reward at the end. Beautiful! We will hike this one again.

I’ve never been disappointed with my time on this trail. It can get busy and parking is difficult @ times. Don’t let it scare you; be patient - it’s worth the wait!

Nice hike with nice falls. We added busby falls to the loop just to play in the water more

I’ve been coming here since I was a kid 28 years now this is the nicest park there is. Always a ton of wildlife out I’m glad they have the rules they have there it keeps things nice. Parking is difficult if you go on the weekends but besides that no complaints.

This trail has strict rules. No running very little view of the lake the first half. So many people was just very disappointed. The park was nice just limited. Won’t go back

I have walked this trail dozens of times in the last few years as it is only minutes from my home. I enjoy the seclusion and landscape. It has been overgrown this summer and the trail does not appear to be maintained with the frequency it was two years ago. Any reference to trash is referring to items discarded on the property decades ago. While not a perfect spot, I would definitely recommend it to locals.

Lack of trail markings can make it a little confusing. The waterfalls are great and it’s a very easy little loop.

We came with our four kids, ages 2, 4, 6, and 8. We decided to go counterclockwise which I think was the right move. We already got the payoff of seeing the falls before we had to climb up the stairs, so we had no choice. :) We had the youngest boy in an Ergo, but the older girls all handled the trail—and the stairs—just fine. The trail was clearly-marked, but it did help to have downloaded the map from AllTrails just to be sure we were on the right path.

The falls were incredible, some of the best we’ve seen around. We really loved that the pools are wade-able, and you don’t have to decide you want to go swimming in the cold to get close. Combine that with a really wide, really beautiful cascading waterfall, this one is near the top of our list.

Great trails and mostly shaded which is great in TN heat! Plan ahead - no bathrooms.

Nice little camp ground/ hiking and picnicking area.

easy walk and beautiful scene

Used to walk this trail every day. Very easy with a paved path. Had many animal experiences here.

Great, easy trail that is paved through forested land, rock formations, wildlife and great views of the lake.

Very nice paved trail. Nice scenery, and open for walking, running, biking, and for dogs too!

Found some very upset buzzards in the cave.

great elevation. it is winding. it is narrow so can't walk side by side with a friend. saw some frogs. leads to a circle of wooden benches.

Such a great trail!

Definitely a cool trail with beautiful scenery. We found 2 caves but one was not very accessible. We couldn’t find them at first but the advice someone else had posted about staying on the river side (to the left) at the split after you have walked along the river for a while. Then start looking on your right for a trail shortly after the split. It leads you into the woods away from the cliff and to the first cave. Totally worth it but we ran out of time and had to stop exploring.

Pretty easy hike. We took our 3 boys: 5, 6 years and a 5 month old in a baby carrier. The down slope wasn’t bad as long as you take it slow. We will definitely be back!

Hike in was easy until you start dropping down to the falls, it had rained day before so it was a little slick in spots, had to watch where you were stepping for sure. The rain had made the falls run really full, it was beautiful! Hike out was super easy!

Loved this loop and this whole state park today!! I went with my two dogs and we had a blast exploring the park, the river, and all of the waterfalls. The loop gives options for how hard you want the hike to be. You can scoot your way up and down the hillside to get in the water, or you can walk around on more of the flat terrain. Absolutely want to go again!

very nice trails with many side trails along the water. beautiful water falls. the backbone ridge trail was more challenging terrain and provided some interesting views.

Absolutely gorgeous waterfall, the hike wasn’t bad other than a bit slippery after the rain we’ve had. Looking forward to going back during the Fall & winter.

I've been on this trail several times and never been disappointed. I usually do the paved lake trail from the visitor center to the trail, and the nature is simply beautiful. Nowhere else in Nashville can you clearly see such biodiversity.

it was an overcast day just after a rain storm. the trail was not crowded and very easy for the family. the waterfall was specracular.

My husband and I did this loop and the south lake trail today less than two hours. Very nice. Bring walking poles and knee support if you have knee issues. Parking is limited btw.

Really liked this little lake loop, want to take my boyfriend here for a picnic.
