Ummm, after looking at the map here it looks we weren't even on the real trail?? That makes sense now. My friend read about this in a photography book, it said there are 3 waterfalls, we only saw two.

Hidden! The entrance is not marked at all. We parked at the kayak launch site at the bottom of Seneca and walked up the road on the hill side (East) to get to the trail.
Some large trees fell recently (I'm assuming?) that blocked the path to the middle waterfall. There is a beautiful waterfall right away if you go down and to the left immediately after the trail head. Seems very rarely traveled, very overgrown trail.

Very nice/easy flat hike. Beautiful waterfall. Very tall. One of the prettiest.

beautiful hike, poorly marked and maintained trails

A nice easy walk with a spectacular view of Taughannock Falls. Lots of people coming & going but never too crowded to get nice photos. The gorge is as spectacular as the actual falls.

Easy hike to a beautiful waterfall. you can get close enough to feel the most off the falls.

Great and Easy hike! Beautiful waterfall :)

Easy out and back to a beautiful waterfall.

Hiked this trail while visiting NY from Baltimore with my husband and 9 y/o son. We all loved the terrain - very different from what we are used to hiking. We hiked up the creek until we got to the bridge and hiked back down on the steep dirt trail. We absolutely loved climbing the waterfalls. I definitely recommend this one! Wear waterproof shoes with a good grip and take bug spray!

Did this one with my husband and 9y/o while visiting NY from Baltimore. Great little hike. We loved hiking through the stream. Trekking up the waterfalls was a great change from the hikes we usually do! We did not do the climb after we went behind the waterfall. It was very slippery and didn’t think it was safe for the kid to attempt it.

Quick walk down to the base of this waterfall. Great view.

The address took us to a place on the road, there was noting there :(

Easy trail out and back 3/4 of a mile. Glorious waterfall at the end. (I should add the waterfall is only glorious if there’s been considerable rain lately)We did walk in the water for a bit but it is super slippery so we got out and back on the trail. We also spent sometime at the beach across the street which was crowded but the water was so refreshing that we didn’t care.

Beautiful hike I went beyond the top falls probably 6 more above the last is equally as tall I went 1/4 of the way up looks like you could reach the top climbing carefully takes about an hour

went on this hike with the wife, dog and a 4 year old. the trail was not to technical but you have to watch out for the bogs. Some of the roots and rocks were slippery. Had a nice lunch by the falls!! I would like to try the whole loop next time.

went all the way up. amazing

My Route: Took the right trail up to the top of the gorge, looped around and back down. so the gully was on our left at all times. THEN walked the water into the gully, up the rope and back down.

My Review: 9/10. Map at the parking lot is confusing and trails are not marked other than blue. It's also difficult to start as it's straight up immediately. However, the water/creek trail is beautiful and there are many photo ops. Also, minimal garbage along trails!

My Advice: Your feet & butt will get wet, plan accordingly. If you have difficulty climbing over logs, rocks, etc. this isn't for you. Don't forget to stop and look up from time to time. The feeling of being g wrapped up in a gully is awe-inspiring.

Over grown, narrow trail and bug spray is needed for mosquitoes. However it is vey pretty once you get to the water. Took our dogs and they enjoyed it!

incredible place.

Really enjoyed hiking this trail! Definitely want to check it out again in the fall!

Easy out and back trail. We went in the evening after a light rain. Not many people, and doing the trail in the evening gave it a very different feel. The falls are beautiful.

We went to the overlook point n saw and we were not thrilled and then we drove to the gorge trail head, We started the hike and its less than a mile once we reached the falls it was surely a great feeling. We went after heavy rains so we could see decent amount of water but if you go in mid summer I doubt if you can hardly enjoy the falls. The gorge trail head is right next to Cayuga so we spent some time there as well, worth a visit!!

Its in the downtown of Ithaca... And its not much of a hike just 5mins walk from the road but its worth a stop. The falls is scenic.

Not so much of a hike but a quick walk to a sweet waterfall and a nice swim if you’d like

Walked the trail first. It was a workout. Went as far as the meadow at the top and came back down. Then walked the creek bed & up to multiple waterfalls. Did not go too far as the water became too deep. It was beautiful & challenging.
Bug spray is a must!
