Great trail! I hiked it in early June and the traffic was already fairly heavy but the views are worth it. If you slip the fairy ride and take the trail around the lake you will be much more likely to encounter bear and moose as I did as the moose ponds trail is connected to this trail.

Really great hike. Stopped by in October 2018 after I ran the Columbia Gorge Half Marathon. Hiked to the Falls with my Mom. The trail follows the creek for most of the way to the falls. It was a great opportunity to test out different settings on my camera. Some parts are rocky and slippery; bring good shoes.

The stairs are difficult but worth it.

Added on after hiking Mt Storm King and it was a pretty lackluster waterfall compared to others in the area. Trail was crowded due to being an easier hike.

My dog and I hiked this gorgeous trail today. Super easy, well maintained, awesome suspension bridge across the creek and adjacent to falls, beautiful falls.

This is my new favorite - had a little bit of everything - Hiked this Sunday, Nov 11, 2018, So many things to do. I believe the waterfall is one of the best I have seen in the Ga Mountains. Weather was perfect: sunny and 40 degrees. Wore jacket on way down and stowed it on the way up. Met some really nice people. As others said the bridge was destroyed but not hard using the fallen trees to cross. There is a sign about the route being closed due to the bridge. Please ignore that and enjoy yourself. Last point, if your vehicle does not have the clearance needed to cross a small creek you will need to walk a pretty good distance to start this hike. Not sure how far - someone else would know the distance. I drove the hike in a 2015 F250 Lariat - plenty of clearance.

Not much hiking but plenty of relaxing. Good vibes (and not many people on a sunny November day). Will be back in the summer to swim.

Amazing hike! Can’t wait to come back in summer to splash in the creek.

I underestimated the difficulty of this trail and busted both my knees doing it all in a one day hike with no trekking poles. I however don’t regret the majestic reward for completing it.

Easily my favorite hike in North Georgia. Can’t wait to come back in winter and sit under the falls.

Great hike along a river with plenty of smaller falls on the way. There was a downed tree on the trail when I went (11/09/18) about 1.6 miles in. It gets rocky in some parts, but overall fairly easy.

Great place to hike! Restrooms available. Lots of water scenes, waterfalls, and forrest to explore. Flat and easy marked trails. Dog friendly as well.

Definitely difficult terrain, especially the last portion near the river. Fallen leaves cover slippery mud, tree roots and rocks. I wish I had a walking stick! Trail isn’t marked well in some areas. However, it might be our age? We were passed a few times by younger hikers that were almost skipping down the trail!

Very busy trail, but super cool waterfall and bridge. Go when no one else is there (weekday).

Very easy long hike with a beautiful bridge and view at the halfway point. Cool mine town place also. long drive to get there though from salem area.

I snowshoed this trail in march and it was so fun! Flat, and accessible. Some were mountain biking it.

Amazing views. Idk about that 2.2 miles though. The loop took us awhile and we move at a decent pace.

Basically, the right side is a trail and the left is a road. Look up some good directions online. Get there early. The rock slide isn't marked so you have to watch for it.

Waterfall in The beginning of November is like a sink dribbling water lol good exercise though.

The stairs are difficult but the beautiful waterfalls below are more than worth the effort!!

Great hike if you want to wonder why the hell you aren’t back to your car yet for a couple miles. Rocks near the bottom are super slick and could make for a sore buttocks so be careful. Decent views. Easy in, hard out.

This was an excellent hike for all levels. It’s starts out with a gradual upgrade as you walk through the forest. Gorgeous views starting out. The trail does a switch back that heads off to the right that quickly became quite a bit steeper. The switchbacks made it doable. Our 10 year old daughter wasn’t thrilled about how long it was taking. She did get tired. We gave the option to turn around. Other hikers let us know we were about 15 minutes from the waterfall and cave. She then got determined to make it to the falls. We finally made it and the views were spectacular. The waterfall is trickling off of the mountain right now. Our daughter was super proud of herself for making it to the top. She climbed up a level and enjoyed sitting under the water. It was a great hike for exercise and ended with really gorgeous views. It’s always nice to be able to hike to water. We would definitely do it again. Without kids, you would get a killer workout in if that’s what you’re going for. Make sure to layer your clothing this time of year. When we left Vegas it was about 10-12 degrees warmer. It was cool up at the waterfall as the wind picked up a bit. The Temperature felt amazing as long as you could add or take off a layer. For those that may not be as stable on their feet, walking sticks would be nice. Not necessary, but helpful.

Hit it on 11/4/18. The weather was beautiful and the falls are just the finale of a series of great sights and sounds. Some of the rocks are rough for very young and inexperienced hikers. Definitely a great day hike or one-night outing!

It was a pretty hike, but very crowded. The switchbacks are in pretty bad shape from erosion from people taking “short cuts”. We witnessed many people trying to be “adventurous” bypassing the switchbacks. Not only was it kicking rocks down on people, but also tearing up the earth. Show some respect. STAY ON THE TRAIL!

The stairs are tough but the reward is worth it! Beautiful falls. Be aware the stairs are metal and hard on little dogs’ paws - I wound up carrying mine part of the way.

Awesome trail! Steps were a good workout. Beautiful views of the falls. Not that crowded of a trail. Very rocky in some places so watch your step!
