When down to see the waterfalls from the Do not pass sign. It is slippery just need to be careful and stay low and go slow :) but you do need to able to hold yourself up with the ropes and trees and able to balance yourself.
Nature is very generous there are tons of trees, veins, roots to hold on to. I managed to go down and up without getting muddy. I didn’t even get mud on my hand.

Seeing this Water falls close by is amazing! It’s so worth the little slipperiness:)

*But it will be very hard to do if you are wearing slippers or sandals.

beautiful hike! Not strenuous at all, with lots of great scenery. took my husband and I about 3hrs round trip as we stopped ap many time to get amazing photos. highly recommend microspikes if you're going this time of year (december), especially as you get closer to the falls and at the falls if you want to get a closer look.
only reason I'm not giving a 5 out 5 is because there were several people with dogs not on leashes. Please be courteous of other hikers (especially those who actually have their dogs on leashes). I love dogs but dont love being jumped on when I'm trying to enjoy my hike.

Super fun trail run. Big beautiful old growth trees and well groomed pathways. Perfect family or relaxing trails. Make sure to take the detour to the Crescent Lake Lodge!

The elevation gain when you’re starting so high up unexpectedly kicked my butt, made the switchbacks a bit more uncomfortable since it added strain to monotony, but the end of the trail was quite worth it. I did this back in July, and despite the cooler weather up in Mt Charleston, laying on the rocks was amazing. The water was little but so ice cold, it was wonderful. Beautiful scenes

started on the Tennessee side today. the trek down is marked really well until you reach Alabama. be aware that the trail markers change.

Visited today (12/8) and several “do not pass” signs and a tall fence line the road. Did not attempt but could see several others that had managed to climb down.

Nice easy walk to two beautiful waterfalls. If you catch it right the sun makes a rainbow just by the falls. Went on 3rd December and trail was a little icy and slippy so be careful. Was very quite as well only us along the trail.

Great hike, very scenic. Not too challenging. The falls at the top are beautiful.

Lovely hike. Went up on dec 2nd. Spikes highly recommended for the final 3rd to the falls.

Drought was the best

Lovely waterfalls! Pretty nice for yoga

Awesome hike! Very challenging, but the payoff is fantastic.

This is a great hike, but be prepared to hike the majority in water...went 2 octobers ago, and the weather was fairly warm but that water was freezing. spent some of the hike waist deep, but still worth it. only saw 2 other people the entire time. there is no GPS or cell service, so make sure you aren't alone. wear good hiking shoes so you have grip while shoes are wet.

I have done this trail with my 8,7,5 year old . My friend took his 1 year old .

Not an easy trail to do with kids , a bit dangerous at the beginning it is very steep for about 100 feet.
Then it’s not that bad

Gorgeous falls!

Beautiful waterfall!

Don’t do it 20+ weeks pregnant on a 90 degree day lol

Cool waterfall and small canyon at the end. The first part of the trail isn't too exciting, but the fall colors are pretty. Took us 3.5 hours including 20-30 min at the falls

We loved the reward of this hike! Went there early in the morning so we were the only two people there. Seriously beautiful views of the waterfall from the bottom of it and the mandatory rainbow was there too. Be carefull on your way down though and stick to the trail where there’s ropes to help you descent. The trail start after the green fence on your left handside going away from the parking lot. Dont climb any fences, people get hurt and they might close off the whole thing then.

be prepared to go up alot of steps. beautiful falls . crazy busy

Beautiful vistas and great trails.

I absolutely love this trail!! The only problem with this trail that I have encountered, is that many folks don't leash their dogs. This makes it challenging for a dog on a leash. If one dog is on leash and the other isn't, this can create big issues between the two..Please leash your pup's, even if they are super sweet.

Easy fun trail

let's just say it lives up to its name(MJ). Great hike with a waterfall at the end. the waterfall wasn't quite in season. I would definitely hike again in season.

This is a nice, easy trail with a great view of the waterfall!

This is an easy kid and pet friendly hike

Love this trail! It’s really great from the East trailhead at lake Yonah damn. It’s a little more difficult and much less traveled!

It was icy on some parts of the trail, but nothing that required micro spikes. They will probably be needed within the next couple weeks. You will need spikes if you want to go behind the falls though.
