Loved the view inside the canyon! The falls were amazing!

The south side of the loop is the Tumalo Creek Trail portion of the loop and was the most scenic part of the hike up until you reach the falls. The north end is actually a road. If you want to hike through some alpine forest you can hike up past Tumalo Falls to Double Falls, but probably wouldn’t want to go much further without snowshoes. Spikes recommended if there is snow on the ground.

Perfect little walking trail.

Awesome hike! I did it in middle of October and there were no bugs and the weather was absolutely fabulous. Really beautiful loop and a great chance to walk right through a crazy obsidian field.

Beautiful hike up and back (overnight). Will be doing this one again.

We did the trail to the falls out and back. It's about 7 mile without much incline. The only incline is the last couple hundred yards to the falls, so it's a pretty easy hike. It was very icy for the first mile and hard pack after that. We had spikes but there were other people who were hugging the snowy edges to keep on their feet. I personally wouldn't go without spikes until it snows again, just to slick. All and all a beautiful hike, the scenery is fantastic.

Worth every step!

We couldn’t make it to the trailhead by 1 mile because the snow was too thick. 4WD required. We will try again!

Did this one in August. View at the top was incredible.

Counterclockwise is definitely the way to go. I'd much rather start the trip with the burned forest section and end on a beautiful note than vice versa. If you go clockwise you also have to start with an immediate straight up hill. Gorgeous trip though either way.

Terrific hike. Great view from the ridge a little past the lake.

No good trail markings, typical Oregon. ended up on the skyliner trail which was an awesome 6.5 mile run. Head back tomorrow with a map and run the falls loop

I snowshoed this trail in march and it was so fun! Flat, and accessible. Some were mountain biking it.

on Green Lakes Trail

As spectacular as everyone says. Passed no more than 15 or so people in both directions with long stretches of solitude including at the lake itself. Conditions: Cascade Lakes Highway clear (from Bend) except for one snowy/icy hill just west of Mount Bachelor. Trail clear for first mile or so, packed snow for the next two (not slippery), some icy hills in the final stretch -- enough that I put on traction for the trip down. Tentative road closure date is 11/19 so enjoy this trail now!

What an awesome hike. Did some fishing also and we caught a trout and a salmon. Pretty easy hike for some beautiful views.

This hike was incredibly beautiful. Watching all the rock climbers along the way is an added bonus. I highly recommend doing Misery Ridge, and know I will definitely do it again. There's pretty good elevation change and stairs, so I wouldn't do it if you have bad knees! Overall LOVED it.

Best hike I’ve ever been on. Went in August on a really hot Smokey day and it was cool. Walked next to a creek almost the entire way and took a dip in the lake at the top.

I've hiked this trail twice so far. Both times I went clockwise and not the ccw most recommend. I prefer getting the elevation done the first day, camp around green lakes then hike the rest in the morning.

Went hear last November looking for hikes without snow in the bend area! This was was a great little hike in a canyon!

I really like this trail. Just the right amount of challenge and spectacular views!! It was a little brisk when we started. The wind picked up a little too. Definitely pack layers. You’ll see a sign saying “end of the trail” but there is another 2 1/2 miles of trail to explore. Gorgeous back there with some steeper inclines. Worth the extra time. Broken Top seems to be in reach when you go all the way back.

Great views at the top. Good reminder for us to get back in shape!

Great hike, really not hard tho. Took us 2hrs 30mins up, the first 5.5 miles are very easy and almost flat, from there on you hike up the ridge towards the lake, still very doable. The lake is gorgeous, just don't drink/swim, there is 5 elk carcasses in the water and 8 more on the ice.

Amazing day for a Fall hike! 70 degrees You could not ask for a better hike this time of year.

Absolutely beautiful trail. Didn’t make it all the way to the lake, but lovely by the creek all along the way. Gently sloping, not very technical.

Very well maintained trail with lots of picturesque scenery, including the river, waterfalls, forest, open space with obsidian boulders and of course - lakes and Mountain View’s. Went over Labor Day weekend, lots of other hikers but not crowded. The hike in was 2 hours. We took a 30 minute break to snack and take in the scenery then hiked out, which took 1.5 hours. Would recommend.

gets crowded, but great payoff

Beautiful this time of year, just be careful in some spots where the dirt is pretty loose.

Hard for me to completely rate this trail fairly. Started out hiking at 11p so it was pitch black. Very cold that night and to make matters worse once we got to the lakes the wind decided to get crazy. If I was to guess sustained 15mph with gusts all night up to 40. Powerful enough to have branches fall on our tent. In the morning the lakes were pretty but again very very cold mostly due to the wind. We did a loop with soda creek trail back to the trail head and decided to forgo no name lake that night given how windy it was the previous night at a lower elevation. The lakes were definitely pretty and so was the western side of broken top and the eastern end of sisters. Great overall trail system in this region no doubt.
