Amazing view along the way

Definitely do this one counter clockwise, I got my elevation gain done early in the hike and the descent was much more beautiful than if I had done it in reverse. Pretty heavily exposed hike though I didn't have amazing views due to some late spring fog/clouds. It's worth it definitely to detour to the beach which only adds a short amount to this steadily moderate hike. Be prepared to do at least one water crossing very early in the hike and to bring a lot of water. There was one place I could have refilled but I suspect in the warmer months that source dries up.

Gorgeous views on a clear day, but equally worth the trek in the fog. Definitely take the clockwise route (uphill first) to get the best views on the way down. The hidden beach with purple sand is also worth a stop!

Long, steep climb, but the views are worth it at the top! Parts of the trail have been washed out recently - passable, but you have to pick your away across some tricky bits. The top third of the trail is also not very well cleared. I recommend long pants and sleeves.

Great loop trail in redwoods. Not too steep, gently uphill and very nice downhill along the creek. Beautiful forest scenery! Note: you are always in the forest, it actually was chilly today and there was barely any sun reaching the trail. There is a landslide towards the end on the downhill part but easily manageable if you pay attention.

Did this trail after the rain and had some pretty stunning misty views. Went counter clockwise and really enjoyed, I found it to be a nice ascent with a gentle decline after finishing the steep and narrow segment. Saw three condors in flight at he highest points (prior to the picnic trail fork) which was spectacular. Made frequent stops and still finished in 4 hours. Probably one of my favorite hikes.

Beautiful hike with great views, a passage in the forest for some shade and a perfect steady uphill slope.
Would recommend to anyone. Took 3h up and down at a fast pace.

Amazing views at the top of both the ocean and the mountain tops. End of November and the temperature was absolutely perfect. We went up pretty fast in 1h45 and down in about 1h15 half running half walking.

For parking, it’s either right at the trailhead for $10 or on highway 1 for free with about a 1 mile walk to the trailhead.

Enjoy!

Beautifully Brutal.

Arrived later in the day (around 2pm) as the early birds were starting to leave so I scored a parking spot at Bear Gulch. The ranger at headquarters recommended doing this loop clockwise since that makes most of the steep & narrow parts be ascents (nicer on the knees) -- I listened to her and it was a pretty easy hike! Took me 2h15 to complete -- I only stopped a couple of times for water & picture taking. Lovely rainbow views on the high peaks trail thanks to light rain. Considering it was a holiday Saturday, not many others on the trail until I got to the condor overlook.

Love the area and its history.

Great hike. Spectacular views. Take this loop counter clockwise and add Bear Gulch caves/reservoir to get the full Pinnacles experience. Don't forget to look up often for condors. This should be "moderate" instead of "hard" as far as Alltrails ratings go. Expect 4-6hrs total time.

A very good workout with spectacular views at the top. 2 hours up and 1.5 hours down. 2 litres of water each. A gradual gradient all the way up with views all the way, as you wind around the hills. The upper third is narrow and rough in places but as for any heights concerns, ok ! Lunch at the top was very nice. Good phone reception too ! Highly recommend.

We walked this trail, including Bear Gulch Cave/Reservoir trails and it totalled 18.5kms. A beautiful day out. It took 6 hrs but we stopped for 30 minutes for lunch and 15 minutes watching Condors and several minutes chatting, so 5 hrs walking time say. This park is so different after Yosemite and Sequoia but still beautiful! We drank 2 litres each but it was November and 22C as a high. The tight narrow part was no problem for my wife, who hates steep drop offs. A very good trail with cut steps and hand rails.
Highly recommend.

Stunning walk. Views amazing.

Great hike. Did it in CCW direction and took the spur at the end to the reservoir. Tried to do caves on way back to car but chickened out. I’m 6’4” and claustrophobic. Thankfully there was an obvious bypass trail close by to go around caves!

Really beautiful trail that follows the water for the majority of the way. The route that I recorded took a horse trail to connector trail, then over to the main trail. Part of it it washed out so you’ll have to scale some fallen trees for about 50 feet. Other than that I would definitely recommend!’

I agree....this not a moderate hike. Excellent workout.

Nice trail, up and down 4hours with stops. Lot of sun! Would recommend a night stay at the top

I love this trail I've dont it twice now, I can say that once you get to a the false you'll see the peak to the right, the trail is hidden by brush and the way up to the peak step and footing is tricky. I was able to finish within 6 hours. bring at least 2L of water, technu, and some snacks,l. but boy are you in for a beautiful view.

A lovely hike. We came in mid-June and, originally, thought that we'd do the whole loop, continuing along the High Peaks Trail. By around noon, however, the hot weather started to get to us, so we decided to call it a day and hike down through the Condor Gulch instead.
For how short this loop is, it really does offer an outstanding taste of what Pinnacles are all about - lovely views most of the way and we even saw 4 condors - one soaring overhead and three sitting in a gulch in the Condor Gulch.
Highly recommended!

Great little unique trail. Pack enough water. And be prepared to scramble on rocks through narrow trail.

Really awesome trail! Well maintained and not as strenuous as expected. I stopped multiple times for ten plus minutes and still made the loop in less than five hours. Great trail!

Very good trail. Awesome views and narrow trail section that makes you pay attention to your footing. Makes you feel like your rock climbing to a point. Overall the trail is smooth and not too steep. Usually crowded during peak times. I would stay away in the summer it gets way too hot. Best in spring when the flowers are plentiful. Be sure to stop along the way and soak up the views.

Did this hike in the direction shown on All Trails and I thought it was nice for this time of year (Oct). Not too hot in Condor and i liked the direction we took up the steps and down the switchbacks. Views were amazing. Fun times with the carved steps and rails with my 5-year old. Saw two tarantulas and three condors. Nice day.

Moderate hike with very beautiful views. Go through the bear Gulch caves for bonus experience. It is not shown in this all trails map.

Beautiful trail. Allows opportunity to walk over streams on large fallen trees. A workout but accessible for a wider variety of hiking and fitness levels.
