Honestly I don't see what all the hype is about. Actually Its amazing. Well worth it, bring a helmet, a head lamp, trekking poles, gloves, and water. Its insanely slippery and easy to take a fall. Be prepared and bring a change of clothes.

We went today and it was beautiful! The cave is very steep, slick and muddy, so have a waking stick and good shoes to keep from falling!

Wow! Very short hike to inside of the cave. And once inside the cave, the view is amazing and surreal. Make sure to go between noon and 1pm to get the sunlight beam into the cave. Inside is slippery so wear hiking shoes, helmet with light, and hiking poles. You will not be disappointed.

this trail didn't seem very promising. However, we we're completely wrong. At the end it's worth the 45 min trail hike.

Hiked in on June 6 after a brief shower. Trail is fairly well clear, but lots of mud and slippery rocks - make sure you wear proper boots and carry poles. Even though it is a very short hike, the rock scrambles and slippery rocks hiking down into the entrance can be challenging. Very pretty wildflowers and wild hydrangeas blooming. We were there at about lunchtime and the sun rays were landing perfectly on the middle outcropping - perfect time for pictures! A good head lamp allowed us to get some interesting views and pictures of the rock formations. Definitely worth the trip and will be coming back again! Take care of this gem and make sure you leave no trace.

Great short trail but some good elevation changes. Well worth obtaining the permit and hiking. Definitely wear boots and make sure you have a good flashlight for the cave! don't forget your helmet!

So great. Stunning. Do the right thing and get a free permit online first. Make a donation if you can. Easy hike with 4 kids. Lots of water Mar 26.

Great trail and an amazing view at the end. Not difficult but a little challenging in a few spots. Beautiful views from inside the cave. Our first time but it definitely won’t be the last!

Amazing trip! Going back soon! The hike to the cave is moderate. A few steep places. It is very easy to walk right in the mouth of the cave. Standing in the cave admiring the waterfall and sunlight ranks up there with Grand Canyon level awe! Lots of places to climb around and explore, or sit down and entree scenery. My blog post, and 4K videos of the cave, waterfall, and entire trail GoPro time warp at HikingAlabama.com. You can see how easy it is to walk right in the mouth of the cave.

Great trail and beautiful view. Be cautious going down into the cave, it’s super slippery and you can easily fall and die if you’re not careful

Amazing hike and beautiful cave. If it’s been raining make sure to prepare for a muddy hike and slippery rocks. I’d recommend wearing waterproof pants/top if you really want to delve into the waterfalls. Once you enter you see the main one to the right but if you follow the flow of water it’ll lead you to another one. If you’re feeling adventurous you can climb up into it and explore a little more - headlamp def needed for this though. Note: you get a free permit thru SCCI.org. The first time I went I didn’t get the gate code with the permit, luckily others were there, so make sure you get a gate code.

Great short hike. Well worth the drive and effort of securing a permit. It was rainy and muddy and has some steep inclines on slippery rocks to get to cave. If going when rainy and/or muddy, make sure u have hiking boots r shoes not just tennis shoes. You will need the grip. BEAUTIFUL cave! it was just incredible inside! The descend down into the cave wasn't bad at all, just need to take your time and be careful. Definitely well worth it!!

This is a fun trail and the end point is spectacular! Short 15 minute hike to the cave, but gets steep in some places. Not over crowded. The cave itself is a must see.
