Did this after Navajo Knobs so it was a bit busy in the afternoon hours even in early March. The trail itself isn't as scenic as many others in the park that go either through deep canyons or along tall rims. The natural bridge is nice but not as spectacular as others I've seen. Still a nice trail overall, a couple smaller arches along the trail. I suggest you go early to beat the heat and the crowds especially if you're going in the busier seasons.

HikingGreat!

Our group (ages 10-46) had a wonderful time. We chose to go out and back, but you can leave a car at one end and only hike one way. The landscape looks different going each way so we thought it felt like 2 hikes. There is lots of room to run, play, and explore. FYI: There are no toilets at the east entrance.

Hickman Bridge Trail is a great family hike. Children can easily handle the elevation gain and love playing on, in, and around the various rock formations. My youngest is 10, but we passed several families with 3-4 year olds.

HikingGreat!

LOVED IT! Really great for kids because there are a ton of “caves” to climb in or up. We parked off the side of 24 and did it “backwards” until we decided to turn around. Logged a little less than 3.5 miles total. Definitely suggest going off “trail” to explore the estuary? (What we decided was an old waterfall based on wear patterns in rock) It was on our left coming from 24 around 1.5 miles in with some rocks and brush to get over to reach the back. There is a big sandbox when you get all the way in though! Kids loved that, too. It’s amazing to be surrounded by such large rocks!

HikingGreat!

Enjoyed this very easy, mostly flat walk through the canyon. It would b super fun with kids because there are limitless options to explore nooks and crannies. Only downside, it felt more like a wide rocky road than a trail.

Fun trail! Short and sweet but still had some elevation to it. The bridge was cool to check out

great trail! hickman bridge is the symbol of the capitol reef NP. the near-entrance part has good view of the highway meandering the red rocks (similar feeling of that part of angels landing). the middle part has much sands in shoes, but is peaceful. the last part around the hickman bridge is the best and makes the hiking totally worth it - we got fun climbing and great photos, and we sat under the bridge for long time to enjoy it.

Beautiful & easy trail. Unbelievable how large and tall these rock walls tower over you. Would recommend. BRING WATER!

Pleasant easy stroll amid massive canyon cliffs. Lots of places to stop and have fun climbing. Amazing vistas around every turn. Colorful. Not crowded at all this Monday afternoon.

Easy out and back with good views of the geologic features of the park. Take a cup of coffee from dark sky coffee (drive through in Torrey) and enjoy the cool morning air.

Really cool hike through a canyon. It was pretty hot in the canyon and only a few places with shade. Bring plenty of water. Hike was 5.5 miles from parking lot to parking lot.

I liked the trail a lot! I’m sad I didn’t get verified & honestly didn’t follow the exact path that AllTrails suggested. It was sometimes kind of wonky. It also had me walk down the road to panorama viewpoint. So personally I think I would start there & walk up to explore goose point & sunset then walk back to your car at panorama. But either way! It so breathtaking & definitely good for beginners! I would wear hiking boots if you want to do some risqué exploring on the trail.

Fascinating formations! Colors come alive at sunset. Beautiful photo opportunities through rock formations. Go well before sunset - for a time, we were alone about 90 minutes before sunset and the light and colors were stunning.

HikingGreat!No shadeRockyScramble

This is a pleasant, flat stroll that's more than suitable for families and children. Highly recommend walking to the Narrows section for some of the most stunning views in Capitol Reef National Park! If you're worried about the distance, park at the access lot closest to the Narrows (off of Utah highway 24 east) and walk into the Narrows, then turn around as an out-and-back. There are bathrooms located about 0.2 miles past the turnaround point of the full 4.4 mile out-and-back trail at the shared trailhead for Cassidy Arch. If you're up for a challenge, connect this trail to Cassidy Arch and/or Frying Pan Loop for a challenging and long day hike.

Super cool quick trail! You can stand on the two bridges before getting up to Hickman, but once you get to Hickman - awesome view!! Saw lots of families :) Beginning has a warning for rock fall, so be an aware hiker.

Good short hike with a really nice rock bridge at the end. This is an out and back trail. The trail is very crowded.
