super nice hike. moderate and cool view. smells like herbal tea
Awesome
It was cool
Hiked last week (early Jan) on our way into Capitol Reef NP. Great, easy hike that was the perfect introduction to the park.
This is a don’t miss hike. Be sure to explore the small bridges you can clime on, over and in and the tank in the wash on the way in. Lots of critter caves too and big horn sheep. Nice vista views to go along with a little scrambling. Fun for all levels of abilities. Love all the black lava rocks, they are very concentrated on the ridge. Icy in spots but they covered with sand to make it easygoing. Thank you NPS.
What a payout for such a short hike in! The natural bridge is beautiful and can be seen from both sides. Footing was a little slick after a few inches of snow the night before but nothing beyond sturdy boots was necessary. This hike is a must for this park.
Did this hike 1/9/2021 around 10am and it was a little slick in some places but overall very nice and beautiful trail. We loved it so much the bridge is amazing!
The hike culminates with the best 360 degree view I’ve ever experienced. Snow and ice is present but not enough to require crampons. Saw only two other hikers all day.
Hiked on 12/28. Started about 10:30am and left about 12:15pm. It was snowing heavily. We wore spikes - more snowy than icy, spikes were helpful. Decently challenging hike uphill to the bridge. Nice view, quick hike, cold and snowy. It was our first park and first hike out of the 5 and a nice way to start our trip.
Beautiful bridge and overlook, little bit slippery but worth it
loved this one. beautiful hike all throughout the journey. a little slick in some places. would recommend shoe chains. oh so beautiful. ---whimpy average hiker
Really cool arch with a little lip around it and natural bridges on the way. Short and sweet hike
Ice on a lot of the trail. Spikes aren’t necessary, but will help if you want extra stability. The weather was great and there weren’t a lot of people on the trail.
We enjoyed this route, and going under and through the bridge!
It was a beautiful hike with fresh snow on the trail. There was some ice which was slippery. Got great pictures of the Fremont River near the parking lot.
Decent trail. Views at the top are nice. I preferred the payoff at Cassidy Arch.
Awesome trail in winter. Some slick spots near the top. Parking lot was packed on a 25 degree day in December so be aware this place must usually be very crowded.
Easily the most scenic view in Capitol Reef especially in winter when I went. The view of Pectols Pyramid when you get to the top is unreal.
