Best ever hike. We almost turned back when reaching one of the waterfall, but at the end we made it :-) (with 8 & 10 years old).

Jolie balade dans difficulté. Comptez une heure A/R. Quelques passages un peu glissants sur quelques slickrocks (il pleuvait un peu) mais rien de méchant. Peu de monde sur le parcours. Très beaux paysages.

Short but sweet hike and wow! Evolving views all the way to the end. The bridge is impressive as are the rest of the geological features. We arrived early enough to avoid the heat and were happy for it. Not many on the trail by 8am.

Beautiful views the entire way and access to water virtually whole time courtesy of a stream running alongside the trail. At least 3/4 of the trail is sand so took little longer than usual. Not much tree coverage so expect to be exposed to the elements. But the falls are oh so pretty! Refreshing dip on a hot day.

So much fun for both young and old! If you don’t want to of can do the whole hike, start at the VC and work your way back to the third waterfall. From there you can determine if you want to go a little further. VC has a detailed map.

The bridge is amazing. The rocks along the trail are also featured.

I hiked this trail in the morning alone. The shadow made the scene be kind if mysterious. Great experience!

Relatively easy and beautiful!

Stunning and not that hard. A great place to sit and rest and enjoy the views midway through - good picnic spot.

It was hot going but the water was cold. Was a great hike.

Hiked this two summers ago. We parked one car at the visitors center for when we were done to ferry us back to our starting point at Chimney Rock. Once we reached the Sulphur stream , we walked the entire remaining hike in the river . There is a large tree at about the halfway point that makes for a great lunch stop. We did it with a 3 yr old and she walked all but the last mile or so. Beautiful !

5h To climb and come back with breaks
for take picture. trail and hiking easy . but the afternoon the temperature it.s very hot in summer...

Did this on 25Jul18. (5th time I've done this) Waited out a thunderstorm and the trail had puddles in some spots. A portion of the trail close to the falls was washed out and there are a couple of rocks to hop on in the river, to get across. Also falls were fuller than I've ever seen them. Roaring, really. Amazing as always hike.

I reccomend doing the loop. Its a moderate hike, but if you are already fatigued can feel like an eternity getting up to the bride. Someone left a toy buddy on a rock, gave me quite a laugh.

Trail is relatively easy with very little elevation gain, but be prepared for sandy trails. Can be very hot and sunny at midday. Falls are gorgeous and a great place for a wade to cool down!

Awesome well worth it

Hiked July 9th. Yep, the sand was a butt-kicker, and the 102F heat didn't help matters with very little shade on the trail. That said, highly recommended trail. It turned out to be 6 miles round trip. Payoff at the end is so worth it. Plenty of space at the falls to lay on a towel. The pool at the falls started to shade around 1pm, and by 2:30 was fully shaded.

This drive is AMAZING! It is unforgettable and I would highly recommend it!

To start get the map for “Cathedral Loop” at Capital Reef’s visitor center. It is a guide for this entire drive and it explains the geology, ecology and history you will want to have to get the most from the trip.

We went in an unmodified Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4x4 and made the whole trip fine in 4 wheel drive. The mucky parts were no issue as long as you don’t stop in them. There were very few mucky parts actually but do check the weather before heading in and do start with the drive through the river because if you can’t make that part you don’t want to leave it for the end and have to turn around and go back 64 miles!!!

What you see in the park does not even compare to what you will see in this loop. We saw 4 vehicles the whole day! We started at 9am at the Visitors Center to zero our trip counter and followed our guide book. We finished at 5:12 PM. Storms are typical in the afternoon so again check that out and carry extra water and food.

Again this trip is totally worth it. I worry now that I will never top this drive! It is that good!

Loved this hike. It feels long when it's got in the summer, there's not a lot of shade. The places we found shade were really humid. This was a pretty easy hike. There is hiking through some sand and up rocks, but it wasn't bad. Definitely bring yourself a lot of water if you are planning on going in the summer, without cloud cover. If you bring kids, there are frequent access spots to the creek so they can cool off. There are fun places for them to explore and climb around on.
At marker 8, there are pictographs- when you see the bench.
So worth it once you finally get to the end of the trail- the waterfall is beautiful, water is cold. Kids can play/slide on the rocks to the right. The water is deep enough to swim in closer to the falls. Feels long, but it's definitely worth it!

Go in the late afternoon to walk in the shade, and enjoy the colors. We went after 6pm. Amazing!!! We went the weekend after 4th of July and the temp was nice. Still hot, but the shade was great! BRING CASH!!!! $5 PARKING FEE IN CASH! Honor system.

Wundeful hike, but someone seems to have destroyed the cairns on the first part of the trail!!!
We started at 8 am and had the trail nearly for ourselves.

Loved it! So refreshing.

Great for a night hike!

NO SHADE. While only 6 miles and 500ft of gain, it makes you work for every inch. Sandy paths and jagged rocks.

But totally worth it. Take a lunch. Sit by the falls. The pond is deep enough I couldn’t stand up and I’m nearly 6fy.

If you don't mind some bumpy, dusty, remote dirt roads and you have a high clearance vehicle this is a good alternative to a hike, And when you get to the Cathedral Valley, i think that you'll be amazed by the formations.

Started at 9 am it took us 3 hours rt. Sandy trail which made the hike a little harder. Well worth the prize at the end of. the trail. What an amazing waterfall.

All I can say is amazing!!

I first hiked here in college with a group of friends about 12 years ago in 100+ degree weather. The falls were even more beautiful this week than I remembered them. The trail was harder than I remembered it. The sand makes it tough to walk and even a 85 degree day is still tough to hike in here. Stop often, bring as much water as you can carry, bring food, a towel to wet in the steam along the way to keep cool, and enjoy the hike. Check out the petroglyphs at marker 8.
