Summited Mount Temple on Aug 21 and Aug 28 (2020). When I summited on Aug 21, 2020, fog and clouds had blanketed the summit resulting in poor visibility hence there were no views to be enjoyed that day. This left me unsatisfied and I decided then and there to summit once again as soon as possible on a clear day to enjoy the beautiful views everyone talked about. Summited again on Aug 28, 2020. The sky was clear, the visibility on the summit was great and the 360 degree views of the surrounding region were spectacular. About the hike - Bring a helmet to avoid getting hit by rocks falling from above. Bring at least 3L of water as I had to share mine with some hikers on the summit. Overall, I really enjoyed summiting Mt Temple. Instagram - Follow / DM me @realasifzeb. We can do a collab on a hike/scramble in the near future.

Did this back in the summer; started a wee bit too early in the dark and missed the narrow gully, so swung wide and had to cross the ridge a bit over to it. Lovely view though from above and was well worth it. Descended down the correct narrow gully right to the tower with relative ease. Recommend helmets and good hiking boots. Poles are a tad useless for this one

Did this in July 2018. Great, straightforward scramble. Other than rockfall in the chimney area from other scramblers, no difficulties. Wake up early to get parking at Moraine Lake in high season!

Pretty sweet. Completed Oct 3. 2020 for sunrise, the trail was completely dry, only one other group attempting it that I ran into

Great views for effort required, although I wouldn’t recommend this for beginners. Lots of scrambling and rocks/ boulders that could be dangerous to yourself / others. We were lucky there was one other couple coming down as we reached the top, wouldn’t do this climb if several groups are around. Recommend helmets & poles! Enjoy the scree on the way down :)

Rock climbingGreat!RockyScramble

This is hands down one of my favourite trails! I enjoyed going down just as much as going up! At the begging it starts of with bigger rock and then slowly gets smaller. Once you reach the valley stick to your left because the rock wall was very handy on the way up. Don’t recommend for beginner hikers lots of scrambling and rock climbing involved

HikingGreat!Snow

What a wonderful climb! I was worried about snow and clouds and cold and parking, but everything turned out great. Parked by 7:30, took some sunrise photos of the lake, and took an hour and a half to get up to the pass. At that point I ended up hiking up through the clouds for an hour but was treated to spectacular views of the valley of 10 peaks poking through the clouds. There was some snow in the last 300-400m vertical, but nothing very tricky.

HikingGreat!ScrambleSnow

Arrived to the parking lot for 6:40 am with a few spots still available. It probably filled up by 7:00 am however. We watched the sunrise, and began hiking around 8:00 am. Larch Valley was beautiful! We generally followed the Climber's Guide to Mt. Temple as provided by Parks Canada. This did involve a little bit of trail finding, and searching for rocks with orange flagging tape. The second rock band requires a brief climb, which is do-able but the sketchiest part of the scramble, and should not be done by the faint of heart. There was some packed snow around the peak, but this was no issue as the terrain was fairly flat. The rest of the trail was dry. The peak was also very very windy, dress accordingly. The hike was completed in 9 hours, including breaks for food and admiring nature.

HikingGreat!RockyScramble

Tower of Babel is a MUST DO when in the Lake Louise area! Extremely rewarding hike with phenomenal 360° views of Moraine Lake, Consolation Lakes and Larch Valley! This is all purely scramble so previous experience is needed–would not recommend for beginners as it can be a little overwhelming. Completed this hike on Sunday, September 27! Started at 12pm and summited in 1.5 hours. We stayed to the right of the gulley going up because it was more hands on and scree skiied down. So so fun!! Helmets weren’t needed because we were the only group climbing at the time, but I would recommend them regardless and to keep lots of distance from other hikers in case of rock fall as the scramble is full of loose rock and shale. Ended up spending over 2 hours on the summit! Loved the rocks resembling a living room set up (couch, tv, table). Would do this hike again in a heart beat! Will be coming back for sunrise.
