I arrived around 10am on a cold but sunny Saturday in January and the hike was wonderful. I only saw two other people the entire time I was there and they were just heading in as I was heading out. The waterfalls in the winter are amazing, and the lookout was quite nice as well.

Did this trail on a 2 degree day in January. Beautiful hike. Challenging up and downhill and the stairs to the lookout are a good workout. Would love to back in the early fall. It took us 2:45. Though it wasn't icy we wore icers and were glad to have the extra traction on the well trodden snow.

This is the hike that I compare all others to...difficult but several summit views of glorious lakes and fields and forests! Bring lots of water and snacks...will take several hours to complete!

One of the best !

Freshly fallen snow, giant pines, and gorgeous water. I felt safe walking through with my krampons but it may have been a bit slick with some swampy and snowy areas had we not had the proper gear.

Hiked this trail with my dog on October 29. Entire hike took about 45 minutes. Overall short but scenic - little boardwalks, lookouts, and varying paths make the trail really interesting to travel and photograph. The only tricky parts of the trail were the very beginning, where the trail was steep and muddy (watch your step!), and the last ten minutes, where the trail was almost completely muddy puddles that could not be avoided. If you're going to do this hike, a pair of waterproof boots is a must! I would recommend this trail if you want a short hike with lots to see.

This one works you! I did this solo on the first snow fall of the season in late October making for some very slippery sections. I did it in about 4 hours but it took everything out of me. In my opinion it has the best views in the park, so totally worth the effort.

Did the trail in the snow and it was a beautiful trail! Definitely one of the harder ones I've done so far. I would recommend this trail to anybody who is able to finish the whole 10km loop.

Fantastic views and waterfall, however the trail was quite muddy and hilly making it a little harder then expected. Would definitely visit again.

Awesome hike at the end of fall season!

Took 3.5 hours with a few food stops. Trail was not too hard, a little wet in areas (it rained the day before). The blue trail markers sometimes are hard to follow so we had to back track 2 times. The views were nice, mostly mountain top and lakes. I recommend arriving early to get a good parking spot, and wearing good hiking shoes.

Walk and learn

The view when you reach to the top is breathtaking. Must have a good shoes. Definitely coming back next fall early in the morning when sunrise strikes

Went today and the colors were fantastic... Went clockwise and the views were nicer on the east side as there are more trees and no lake.
Took us about 4h but we had plenty of little stops. Would say hike is moderate as there is not a lot elevation gain.

Gorgeous views. A bit challenging but totally worth it. Took about 3 hours with minimum stops just to enjoy the view.

Great trail, saw 2 moose!!! Don't walk too fast and check around to see wildlife...

Another great trail. During the fall colour season it would be recommended to start early. The earlier you go the more "privacy" you will have. Not too much fun if you are sharing the vistas with a ton of other people. Weekdays are also better.
Hiking shoes and good physical state would be required for the cache lake lookout.
Enjoy

This one is a great hike Year round! Short one but well worth it. Check out the artificial tree at the trail head.
Great for children as well. Lots to look at.

I do enjoy this trail. However I find it a little boring in sections. About 4 hours at moderate speed. Lovely vistas about 1/2 way.
Good footwear is an absolute must in this trail as the rocks can be slippery. Do take plenty of water as well!
Know your limitations on this one as it can be lengthy.

My favourite trail. Short and sweet.

So I did this hike back on March 10, 2018 with my dog. It is an absolutely stunning trail, with several waterfalls. I would highly recommend it, and would definitely do it again! The entire thing took me about 3.5 hours, including a few breaks.
Advice for winter: this trail was CRAZY icy. I love to hike in solitude, and I went first thing in the morning in winter, so it was totally isolated with nobody else around. But there are several inclines along the trail that, with the snow having melted and re-frozen, were basically giant slides. Luckily nobody was around to watch me grabbing on to tree limbs for support! If you take this trail in the winter, be prepared for ice!

A short climb reveals breathtaking views of the Barron Canyon. Most of the short hike is along the clifftop with lots of spots to sit for awhile and enjoy the view!

Ok. Beautiful forest scenery, but misnamed, as there isn’t much in the way of rapids. Or whisky ;) More mosquitos than a typical wooded hike.

Great trail for a day hike with beautiful scenery.
must have: good hiking boots, comfortable backpack, plenty of water and food. My hiking boots were good but not THAT good, near the end of the 10km my feet were a little tender.
I definitely recommend this trail as a Medium in difficulty.
