I hiked it today, I had crampons and honestly, I wouldn’t have felt comfortable at all without them. For the most part, you didn’t *need* them, but there are some very slippery, steep sections, and a few iced over stairs and whatnot - even the non steep slopes would have been tricky to manoeuvre. I saw a few people with just hiking boots, and they made it, but any people I saw without spikes were struggling (especially those in just runners...). Would definitely recommend spikes!
Also the road there was totally plowed - I know I was wondering about driving just with M + S, and it was totally fine

Uphill almost the entire way with very little breaks of flat or downhill portions but the view at the end is totally worth it! You don't necessarily need snowshoes as it was pretty hard pack- so long as you stayed to the trail- micro spikes would be fine to use to make the slog uphill easier. Very snowy and windy. Not sure what this hike is like without snow, but I would not categorize it as "hard" despite it being an uphill climb. Moderate, maybe, would have been sufficient. Don't forget to get your backcountry pass from the lower lodge in the parking lot. They are free but the park requires you to have it on you before starting the trail. Overall I would do this hike again.

Crampons needed. Trail was very icy but yielded a beautiful reward. The falls were frozen. Took about 3.5hrs to complete with a picture stop at the falls.

Great hike with a clear day and sunny.

Heavy slush throughout. Inconsistent footpath. Snowshoes not necessary but waterproof footwear a must.

Make me refreshed. Pack up for a short picnic too. You can enjoy those gorgeous views and mood.

It takes about 2 hours and has so beautiful ocean scenery.

Fantastic way to see Stanley Park and the Burrand Inlet. The trail is separated pretty well between bikers/roller bladers and walkers which makes it much easier to bike.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Make sure you see everything that you want to see as you go because the trail is one way for bikes. If you miss something, you will be left doing the trail again, walking back to what you missed, or figuring out how to get through the middle of the park back to what you missed. It would be nice if the attractions were better marked on the bike path.

A good winter hike. only small patches of snow on the flat valley bottom portion of the trail. lots of hikers. Moderate hike easy walking but a good distance 17km from parking lot.

Beautiful views from every part of the path!

Beautiful walk around Stanley Park.

Great hike and view

beautiful

Beautiful.

It’s perfect for a relaxing run. No need to rush. Just take it in and enjoy!

Beautiful view and lots of space at the top make the end of this climb so very worth it. Tough switch backs at the beginning and evens out after 20 minute or so. Took some novice hiker (Friends) and they did great. Definitely recommend!

This is not a hard trail, I would rate it as moderate.

Went on Remembrance Sunday. The first bit up to Cabin Lake is well maintained but steep. The path is icy in parts so be careful. I would recommend going via Black Mountain and Cabin Lake which I think is shorter plus Black Mountain has views of Howe Sound.

View is excellent!! Well worth the trip.

Steep uphill climb in the beginning was a great warmup to start off the trail. After that, the trail is easy and pleasant. Mildly trafficked on the Saturday afternoon we hiked. Spectacular view at the top

Amazing walk breathtaking views

PNW at it's best

A nice hike close to the city. Good variations and nice views from the dam.
