Great hike! Killer switchbacks but so worth it with views at top.

Great workout, lots of fun places to explore on this rock. Lots of traffic but get there early. Found my own personal lookout spot and even a cave

Not for the inexperienced hiker! Be aware there are several water crossings and be prepared to get boots and more wet! This hike is beautiful and a lot of fun! BTW not sure how all trails comes up with 5.6 miles...we measured 6.5 around the loop!

By far one of my favs. Easy trail, but still interesting. Great views at the top

Love love loved it! Last hike we did before we leave for home. Glad we waited to do it last. Was not difficult at all.

Awesome trail, little traffic and awesome views at the top.

I did this hike today and it was very nice. The view is so beautiful at the end! The hike isn’t too strenuous and I would rate it moderate to hard at the very end. Be careful with yellow jackets (there was a nest), I got stung and ended up with a severe allergic reaction and a rescue team had to come get me. So if you’re allergic, take your pen/meds with you!

First thing to note is that this is a different trail than looking glass falls which several people seemed confused about. The only water fall is a very small one near the start. The trail is not steep but the 3 miles out is entirely uphill. The view at the top is definitely worth it though!

Lovely views, lovely hike. The climb is never steep, just steady and moderate. We hiked up for sunset and soaked in our first Eastern sights of the Milky Way along with a hand-full of meteors from the Perseid shower. Other than a few passers-by, we had the place to ourselves.

Great workout. Not a scenic “hike”.

Loved the scenic trail and the destination is breathtaking! Hike is very strenuous but worth it in the end!

Moderately difficult trail mainly due to wash out along the trail. Views at the end were great. Hiked early on a Saturday morning and only saw 2 other groups. Very limited parking at the trail head (maybe 4-5 spots). Trail forks near the end, stay left. Enjoyed the hike but will explore other trails in the area next time

Hard work but the view makes it worth it! Lots of water on the trail causing frequent mud puddles.

Why does the description say it's located in Hawaii? Isn't it in North Carolina?

This trail is fantastic. Easy walk up with a few points of interest and the view at the end is breathtaking. No wonder the trailhead is ALWAYS packed.

Great hike with fantastic views at the top. A very popular trail so expect lots of company and to be parking on the side of the road since the parking lot will most likely be full. The trail is very well maintained. I would describe it as a moderate hike since all of the switchbacks make the ascent very managable.

Very nice trail for a great view at the top.
Would say it’s more of a moderate trail than hard.
Would recommend proper hiking shoes due to exposed roots, noticed some people having footing issues with running/gym shoes. I would do the trail again .

The view at Haw Creek is worth it! It’s beautiful. Nice hike, I will say the first half is uphill. But it’s great. The highway is buzzing through most of it but I just put in my iPod and thought.

The main trailhead is still closed so we parked between mile 301 & 302, overall it was a good hike with decent views at the top

Great hike! Gradual uphill all the way up with pretty foliage. Just a pretty and enjoyable trail. I would say it’s more on the moderate side than difficult. Heavily trafficked with lots of dogs too — but it is a Saturday in summer. Went early (started around 9:30) and it wasn’t too bad traffic wise on the way up. The view is definitely worth it with a nice, mostly easy trek down. Would definitely do this one again.

Hiked this trail today. After parking on Globe Road, walk up the Jeep road thru the gate that does not say Keep Out. About a quarter mile in the trail breaks off to left between two trees marked with white paint. About a half mile down trail you have to cross stream above a pretty cascade. Too deep to cross this time of year without getting feet wet so we turned back.

A good workout and mostly uphill.

Fun hike! Not as hard as a lot of the reviews said. We even saw some elderly folk making their way back down. It is a decent workout and definitely worth the hike! The view and rock face is one of the best the area has to offer! A must see!

Trailhead is closed but trail is open. Official Park detour is to park at Boulderstone lot between mm 302 and mm303. From there the hike is back along Tanahwa trail 2.5m to intercept Scout Trail (most of this is within earshot of parkway) so this way will tack on 5m to round trip. Met another hiker on way down who said shorter detour trail that starts from 221. Besides detour issue our hike on Scout Trail was nice cool work out for early July morning as we were in and out of clouds after 2m mark of trail. Had clouds at Callaway peak so limited views but still nice.

Great Hike, would definitely do durning the hot summer months. So many creek crossings and small spots to swim!! I never really got hot and I started about 1 pm. Technically I’d rate a 6, the first mile is the hardest. Toughness I’d rate a 5 due to low elevation gains. Keep in mind I’m in great shape, logged 45 miles of trail in June and so far 28 in July so someone who maybe doesn’t hike as much might find it difficult. Plenty of beautiful fonta and flora in July. You can get a sense of the hike on my YouTube channel HikingFumbles. Happy Trails!!

(from kid's point of view) We didn't do the whole trail, but not our favorite. a road crossing and walking alongside the BRP - kind of nervewracking with 2 dogs and 3 young kids. Road noise and lots of invasive plants (English Ivy, Wisteria) which might improve as you got further in.

One of my favorite hikes. Strenuous but not too long. Fantastic payoff at the top. Excellent half day outing.

Really good trail for an out and back that isn’t too easy. Good amount of challenge for a great payoff at the top. Took my wife and I (and carrying my 15mo old) an hour and 40min to the top and an hour and 15min down. Great spot for a quicker morning hike.

Easy/Moderate hike to incredible view.
