the red line shown in map is a paddle trail. I actually work at the outfitter located at the beginning and because of this app I have had people show up thinking they can hike this path. Awesome paddle, my favorite but it is not a hiking trail.

Didn’t make the loop. They were doing a controlled burn so we doubled back. Ended up walking about 10 km. At the end (also the beginning) we went for a swim in the Wekiwa Springs. Gin clear water.

This place is way overrated. It shows up as the most popular trail in FL when I search, but I can think of no less than 5 way better. It's alright, just basically a jaunt through the woods.

My family had a very pleasant walk. We saw a lot of wildlife and enjoyed the surrounding woodland views.

overgrown trail. costs $3 to park. only good for horseback.

Sure did that one. Smokin’ the way to go. Make your own way!

It is challenging yet very satisfying. You see many different looks at the Florida landscape during your hike. The trail is well-maintained with adequate rest arias and position identifiers.

Very nice hike, probably about as good as you can get in Florida.

Bring bug repellent! If you go early or late to avoid the heat, the bugs are vicious. Biting flies and mosquitoes. Aside from that, it's a beautiful hike. One of the, real Florida, type of nature trails. Mostly shaded. We didn't have time to do the whole loop, but we'll be going back for sure.

Used it as a backpacking training hike. Great for hiking a wide variety of terrain. Not the prettiest hike, but a nice morning, nonetheless.

Nice way to introduce yourself to Florida’s state parks. There wasn’t a ton of wildlife but definitely some and it wasn’t too busy when I went in February.

Had a nice time! Saw a skink on the white trail, and several birds I’m sure enthusiasts would enjoy as well.

BSA Troop 43 from Tavares completed a 15 miles hike today. We took the main trail starting with waypoint 1 at Wekiwa Spring. We follow the trail until reaching Waypoint 19. There was lot of muddy spots along the river and beyond. We crossed into the main/bicycle trail and followed it to waypoint 10 where we crossed into Volksmarch trail. There are several small sinkholes in the area with a huge one that was pretty deep. We continue our hike all the way to the starting point. Through our hike we saw few wild turkeys and some tortoises but, for the most part wildlife was absent through most of the trails. Waypoint 1 was a little tricky to find since there was not much signs in the parking area indicating how to get to it. In general, it was a good hike but, you need to be prepared for it with plenty of water and snacks for energy.

Fun hike! I actually would say it is easy/moderate due to soft sand, tree roots, and sloping path. Beautiful Florida landscapes and most of the trail all you hear is nature, very peaceful.

Easy trail. Park is still cleaning debris from storms but trails are clear and well marked.

It was very nice. We came out to camp cozy and loved where it was at. No one bothered us. For Florida camping it was pretty primitive. They have a bear box and a non-potable water facet. The bear box was my favorit! After the hike in water and snacks awaited us with an awesome note etc! It was so cool so we decided to keep it going

Hiked the 12.6 white trail loop. At marker 19a-d it was overgrown with alot of trees down. Difficult to find markers and path was blocked at multiple areas. Would rate that portion of the trail as difficult. Otherwise a great hike with lots to see.

A very nice leisurely stroll. Would recommend if you're visiting the area and want to experience some of the nature.

Watch your step and keep an eye out for lizards!

The 5 mile orange blaze trail was awesome. Really wanted to do the 13 mile white but it wasn't as clearly marked/overgrown

Beautiful and well kept trail. I will be returning at least once a week. There are different loops you can take other than the 6.4 mile loop. The one I just took was 13+ miles (white trail).

Easy flat sandy trail with changes from palm scrub to pine tree terrain. We saw a box turtle on the path. Make sure to bring your swimsuit to cool off at the spring at the end.

My first time here and loving it. So much to do. Will be bringing the whole family back. Right now just walking on the boardwalk with my son who is 3 months old. So looking for more stroller friendly places. But will come back and do the full trail soon.

Our favorite part was finding a park that made the whole family feel welcome by allowing the family pet as well. What better incentive to help us all stay active and enjoy nature. It also gives me a chance to teach my grandchildren responsible considerate and kind dog ownership.

Enjoyable Florida hike through several Florida ecosystems. It's nice to hike through dry scrubs and wetlands all in one short hike.
