The Camino de San Salvador or El Camino del Salvador is a mountainous pilgrimage route, which takes you to the beautiful Cathedral of San Salvador, in Oviedo. It is also one of the many options to get to Camino de Santiago. Once in Oviedo, if you want to continue walking to Santiago de Compostela, you have the option to join the traditional Camino Francés route, or you can take the Camino Primitivo, which runs through the interior or the Camino del Norte, that runs along the coast. Legend has it that the remains of the Saint Apostle Santiago are buried there. Every spring and summer, many people follow its routes as a form of spiritual path or retreat for their spiritual growth.
