This was a great “break up the drive” loop we took with our kids while driving down the 199. It is kid-friendly, lots of parking, with great views of the ocean.

Rigorous, especially for kids. But worth the walk for the views and the adventure. Parts of the trail are slippery and the way back is a climb, but we all enjoyed it.

this is a great little hike to see the ocean hand if it's not foggy the river. steep up and down for less than a mile. but when you get to the Overlook the stairs to climb up are in very bad shape. regardless well worth the hike.

Fun easy trail. Great views, especially at sunset.

Great for if you would like some lovely coastal views and don’t have a ton of time to explore.

Drove up here with my wife and did this 4 years ago and saw all the salmon fishermen on the spit and went and bought a license and tackle. Took home 3 salmon 25 lbs or so each in 2 hrs of fishing.....
Laws have changed so much since that it will never happen again again in my lifetime ...
So bad already the ocean here was closed for salmon this year.

This was a nice little walk in the woods. We ended up here by accident while looking for Damnation Creek Trail (which we never found :-( ). There were nice views and a beach access where we rested and watched surfers. There are facilities, which is nice, and may be a reason to choose this trail for a picnic spot.

Super easy little walk. If you are passing by and stopping at the beach go ahead and knock it out, otherwise don't seek this one out if you are looking for a hike.

Found this a couple of years ago showing my wife the Yurok's salmon netting during the peak of the season. There were also whale watching volunteers at the parking lot as well. Interesting high views of the river and ocean.

Two years ago we found this and a hundred or so people fishing the spit for salmon. Went there 4 times in the next 2 weeks to catch a total of 10.... It was a great find. The amount of seals and sea lions chasing fish was unreal.

It's been decades since I've done this one. I fished the lagoon with my Dad back when they planted rainbow trout there. Long before this site existed....

From the Lagoon Creek picnic area parking lot, the Yurok Loop trail passes through coastal forest, which includes spruce trees, but not redwoods, to reach bluffs that overlook False Klamath Cove and the Pacific Ocean. The trail then passes through the forest again to return to the parking lot.

At the southern end of the loop the trail meets the Coastal Trail. About 0.75 miles further south, the Coastal Trail meets a trail leading to Hidden Beach. Hidden Beach is a small sand beach that provides views of wave-cut cliffs and sea stacks.

The trail is lightly used and so is overgrown in spots. Hidden Beach is remote and secluded, so hikers should pay close attention to tides and waves.

This is a great trail to reach Hidden Beach. Goes through a variety of vegetation with a few slight ups and downs. Part of the trail goes along the coast along with some wooded sections as well.

Really nice for a 1 mile loop. Going counterclockwise you get nice views of the ocean in all directions before it splits off either east to continue the loop or south on the Coastal Trail a short ways to "Hidden Beach", which is also nice. The east side of the loop follows the lagoon through some low forest.
