Good rock formation at the end, be warned that best lighting for photos would be before noon as the setting sun fall behinds the rocks.

Quite beautiful and not very challenging. There are a few vistas worth checking out.

Meh. Hard to follow and not much in there in terms of sights that you won't see from the road.

The reflection of the cliffs in the water is gorgeous. And the trees are nice towards the end.

Very pleasant short hike! The pictographs are a nice reward at the end

Great geological area so don’t go off the wash with your 4 X 4. There are all kinds of delicate things if you look for them.

Really easy short outdoor walk. Takes no time

Really easy trail to follow; beautiful destination

Takes you to a beautiful oasis. At some points, it was kind of hard to follow the trail because it looks like there are trails everywhere, but it’s easy to find your way back.

If you are coming from Cottonwood visitor center, when you see the trailhead for Skull Rock, the Skull Rock can actually be seen from the road, without even doing the loop trail. As mentioned in the comments below, a good portion of the trail is just walking on a paved road through campsites, so keep that in mind. Other than that, it was a fairly easy trail.

Love this trail !

Such a good hike! I recommend doing this hike in the fall spring or winter. Sometime after it rains so the falls are running! Bring a bottle of water per person for the hike back up!

Tough but not too. Spectacular views and biomes. Wow!

Easy hike, family friendly except for the wind. Amazing formation!

We had some difficulty figuring out exactly where the canyon began, so it could be more clearly marked, but overall very cool. We went when it was pretty hot out still. I don't recommend it but we managed! Not a difficult hot but definitely gets hot out there.

Great hike! The falls were really flowing with the recent rainfall. The way down is a bit narrow next to the canyon, but overall manageable to navigate. The only real downside is the drive in particularly with people who are carsick. We had a great time. Perfect spot to go right after heavy rain. We also brought two dogs along on leashes with no issues. parking lot was closed due to government shutdown.

Such a fun easy hike and a close little drive in you live in Oceanside/San Diego Drive! Narrow rocks are quite beautiful and a nice getaway from the city!

The Water Falls are flowing good today. It's not all that bad of a hike Going to the fall was mostly down hill. Going back up wasn't all that bad. The view of the mountains were very nice. The drive to the Trail head was interesting. Drive slow is all I'm going to say. lol

Great hike. Probably my favorite day hike in SD county. The water falls were eally flowing today. It's a great winter hike, very exposed and bring lots of water. I recommend good hiking shoes because it gets very slippery at the falls. We saw lots of people falling in trainers.

I would recommend this trail this season. As everything is green and a cool weather for taking the trails. Some wind at bottop and mostly at top. Great for camping activities and meditation. Definitely will come back.

Great easy/moderate. With the new path the hike isn't as hard as it used to be but still remember that there is hardly any shade. Make sure to take lots of water and don't hike it in the middle of the day!
The parking lot is also closed due to the government shutdown.

Beautiful trail. Fairly easy to find but I accidentally took a private road coming back. Easy parking, clean bathrooms, great views!

I've been using AllTrails for years and I have never seen a review like Emmanuel Paraskiv's. It appears that he made poor decisions, but that doesn't mean the trail deserves one star. He also refers to himself as an "avid hiker," which I have a hard time believing.

Crowded, nice walk and views. Some trails not shown on the maps are not open to the public and they’re fun to explore.

Went up there today Jan. 19th. Road is closed due to snow. Also, make sure you don’t park on the side of the road because there were sheriffs out giving tickets and towing cars.

scramble

Take a left at the fork. There is bit of a scramble going down. Beautiful out! The falls was streaming but not as much as we hoped even after 4 days of rain. Still worth it!

There are a lot of dead and dying trees so be aware qhen youre hiking. The rain and storms have dropped quite a bit across the trail, but its not unpassable at all. One of the drainages had quite a bit of water in it from the recent storms, and everything was really wet, so it was really pretty and enjoyable.

Parking lot was closed probably due to washout

Took my scout troop and everyone loved it. Good variety of geology, outstanding views, and just challenging enough
