Great Hike. Not suitable to bring pets or your children coz theres a lot of boulder climbing, steep trails and also we got lost a little bit coz theres no signs anywhere. Advisable to start in the morning when theres plenty of sunlight. It was raining today and it made a great waterfall. Just be careful coming up there coz it gets foggy during this time. Advisable to bring walking sticks too. Going back is harder than we thought it would be. Overall, amazing experience.

I do recommend if you are in the area & have time you want to visit.
unofficial trail head.
I have used the longer of the two trails.
Trails were good, but I wouldn't use a passenger car. I found areas that had some deeper loose sand that would stop a car, & 1 or 2 areas that would need a higher clearance vehicle. A stock 4wd works fine.
The views are great & found some nice photo opportunities.
The activity level was steady flow of around 20-30 people.
The area is clean thanks to all who visit that are respectful of our outdoor points of interest.
I did not see any restroom or porta potties so plan ahead.
Have fun!

on Eagle Rock via the PCT

Did this trail today, a beautiful clear Sunday. What an awesome hike! Arrived around 11am and there were about 20-30 cars already parked along the sides of the road. It definitely wasn't crowded though. We've been wanting to hike on the PCT "someday" and this is a great hike to accomplish that on. Well marked & maintained trail. Beautiful scenery that changes from a tree-canopied creekside path for the first mile and half or so, to rolling grass fields until you arrive at Eagle Rock. On the hike back we saw a couple groups of people on horseback. It seemed to go much quicker on the way back. Roughly 3hrs round trip including about 20min taking pix at Eagle Rock. We stopped at Lake Henshaw (like 10min away on the road back) to eat and it hit the spot! Great service and generous portions. Definitely recommended!

Best hike I have been on if I'm going with a water destination in mind. It's beautiful, fun, and a great workout. Going down is a piece of cake, opposed to coming back up. I wouldn't recommend going when the weather is over 100 degrees, because the hike back up to the top can be very exasperating. If you make the hike in weather that's hotter then you would like for a hike, I can't tell you enough times to hydrate, hydrate, and hydrate some more. I've been to this particular location about 5 or 6 times. Early winter isn't tooo bad, but the water crossing is extremely cold around that time of year, but it's so worth it. In any weather it's worth it. I will continue to go again & again, at all times of the year. Great hike to hang out at for the day.

Beeeeauuutiful. At the first juncture stay on the right then at the second one follow the tall brown arrow sign. The views at the top really hit your soul.

This was my first time doing this trail and It wasn’t that bad. It took me about 2 hours to do it.. The views were amazing!! I saw the sunset on my way down and couldn’t stop taking pictures. I highly recommend this trail.

Was a nice hike. Takes you 30 minutes to get out there (downhill) and an hour to get back (uphill). Like the gatekeeper said, “It’s so easy a 10 year old could find it.” Although I HIGHLY don’t recommend taking your kids. After getting used to the nudists it was an enjoyable hang out spot. Everyone was friendly and we all had a blast. The springs were hot and it was nice to take a dip in the cold water down below. There was also a little swing that people were using to jump into the creek. All in all, make sure to be prepared because the hike is steep, brings lots of water, and a no judgement mentality. Just have fun! Happy hiking!~

Had a fun hike with the family and dog. Amazing views to the ocean

Great hike. Just watch out for the loose rocks on the way down.

it was a great hike well worth the trip. some things to be careful of is the drive there turn in to a dirt road and it could flood out during the rainy time. also on the trail it self there are two ways you can go, you can go straight down a loose dirt clif or you can stay left and do a easier trail it's easy to miss.

In my opinion, this hike should be rated as moderate. I did it during the rain with no problem. The views are awesome.

Definitely worth the drive! Very nice people on the way up and down! I honestly was sliding on my butt for a lot of the way down. Make sure to bring plenty of water! The photos on the website don't do service to what it feels like to be there. Definitely the hardest hike I've done but I did all of it! I went from 12:30-4:30 during March and it was perfect!

moderate? maybe I'm just getting old. but i loved it

Amazing views! Short trail with steps but worth the hike. Get there early to avoid the crowds.
No flip flops, slippery at times if you get down to the water.

Can’t believe this is in San Diego. A must do!!!

Fun hike, amazing views. This trail map does not take you to the cave. We finally found the cave and it was another 1\2 mile from where this trail ends on the map. (32.63490, -116.09223) is the coordinates for the cave.

Hiking was Amazing. Lots of water at fall and Beautiful weather.if you drive up, there is snow on mountain toward crystal lake.

My family and I loved this trail. Will most definitely do it again.

Tried to do an overnight trip here, but the rain and wind sent us packing to the car and down to Alpine for some burgers and beer. My fellow hikers and I didn't bring enough cold weather gear and trying to stay warm in wet jeans wasn't working out for them. The trail wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Its pretty well defined about 70% of the time, so you need to stay focused. The Manzanitas that line the trail throughout the hike are cool, some were completely covered in the bright red bark. When the fog did clear the views were exceptional. We were able to snap a few pics and then the fog and rain came back with a vengeance. There's a good spot off the trail to set up camp about 3/4 of a mile from the peak, there is also appears a good spot further down at the Los Pinos trail junction. Will definitely be coming back when the weather clears up for another try at an overnighter.

Water is flowing decently right now. The weather was great, 50 and overcast with a stiff breeze, a light mist, and heavy clouds around the top of surrounding mountains. I brought two medium size dogs and they loved it also. definable a must do in the area if it's rainy season.

Great hike today out to Eagle Rock. It was cool and drizzly, especially in the open areas. Directions on this app were spot on. Took about 2.5 hours at a leisurely pace. Beautiful changes in scenery and topography. Pretty easy hike.

Just got through today, raining during midday has made rocks very slippery but well worth the challenge, waterfall was a great place for some scenic photos.

Love this trail....is the water flowing? I want to hike here tomorrow. Haven't been s since may/July when there was actually water flowing ..anyone been there the past couple days???

Can people please indicate if the falls were flowing when they hike 3 Sisters? Thanks

This is a fun hike to go on. I would suggest going early in the morning.Be prepared for some climbing (over log a and rocks). The waterfall at the end is soooo worth it.
Note: apparently the Grey car that used to be parked by the entrance is now gone (donated). The location is marker 34. Happy hiking!!!!

We started off horsemill rd and did the 1.5 mile loop, then continued uphill for another 4 miles. great hike! awesome views well maintained trail.

Great trail, beautiful views, fun to climb down the cliffs into the tide pools and check out the caves. There were many visitors and many children of all ages also climbing down. Family friendly, and adult friendly as well.
