October 9
Cool hike, great views of the canyone and walking right above it on the path and grates. Very icy though, high fall risk, crampons suggested. The only problem with this hike being the amount of people there (high) and the amount of people falling and basically scrambling not to fall because of the ice.

5 starts for the lake itself but too crowded for my liking.

Lovely hike but you will want micro spikes especially for the trek up to the upper Falls. So many people slipping and sliding without them. Parking was no problem at 9:30 in a Thursday. Not crowded at all. But bring spikes!

Easy hike. Current snowy/icy conditions add a little more difficulty to get up to upper falls. Not as crowded due to overcast weather and trail conditions.

Did this hike on Sept 29, 2018. Absolutely beautiful and relatively easy if you watch your step after the tea house, it gets a bit icy. We had to turn around after seeing an avalanche. Keep an eye out for trail reports if doing this in October.

So muddy and hard for walk when it covered by snow but the scenery is very beautiful

Love ❤️ Mountain! Challenging up but the views make it worth every step. There was a marker (red square on a cliff) that could be easily missed and then you could end up going the wrong way and getting cliffed out.
Really enjoyed the “multiple summits” ;)
The trail is a loop that offers great views the entire time.

Great trail! Just very very icy. Only could make it up because of railings. If you don’t have spikes, very difficult with snow/ice. Otherwise would be very easy. Can’t wait to come back and do again.

Hiked to the tea house in snow pack. Poles + Yaktrax on hiking boots made it manageable. Tea house closed however it was beautiful to sit and enjoy our home made hot tea from our thermos. Icicles (some falling) on the upper path; witnessed an avalanche on the lower Victoria glacier, Another group saw a bear w/ 2 cubs.

Very snow covered / muddy. Arbour workers had drove machinery along the path so it was clear enough to hike their tracks in just boots. Beautiful fall colours, open water and beautiful snow coverage on the trees. Would definitely recommend for an easy, scenic, short hike.

Very pretty view of Peyto Lake right after the snow storm. Please wear the proper gear as we saw people slipping all over the place. Take the trek up to the left to view beautiful snow covered forests.

did it last weekend of Sept. totally covered in snow and a bit slippery whem scramble starts. highly would recommend spikes.

Excellent hike. Could have used our spikes up top as a small amount of snow made it pretty slippery.

I did it in the second week of September. Beautiful mountain and a good challenge ! You have to be in a good shape if you want to go at the edge ! But it’s so beautiful , you have to do it! We meet maximum 10 persons during the trail , very quiet!

The view is a 5 star, but the crowd is a 1. It's a steep incline up and today when we went it was a little slick from snowfall. The view was beautiful and it's short walk to get to. However, the tourist were rude and it was elbow to elbow on the lookout. The best views are if you escape the crowd just a little going beyond the lookout platforms to the right and take photos with no one rushing you and even better views...this will require a slight adventure but nothing that was difficult to do.

Wonderful moderate hike. Some snow and ice currently at the top section before the teahouse. Can do without crampons or spikes but they do help with footing if you have them. definitely recommend the short jaunt to the lookout. Fairly busy. Was not crowded but saw lots of traffic.

Amazing views. Not an easy one. Carry a lot water as it can take a few hours to do the entire loop

These canyon trails are just magnificent! Such an amazing walk. Make sure you go up close to the falls!!

Heavily trafficed is an overstatement! It is basically a narrow paved trail the entire way where you are weaving in and out of tourists walking at turtle pace like they do not have the entire Canadian Rockies to explore! Once you actually get to the lookout, you cannot get a single good picture because someone else is always there. I don't think I need to see this lake again, but was glad I braved the crowd to at least see it once in person.

Hiked today up to the Teahouse and out to the Overlook which is worth the extra effort. The morning started out with cloud coverage obstructing some of the views, but around noon we were able to see the peaks. I would suggest good shoes because the terrain can be a little rocky(this may seem obvious to some but many were wearing terrible shoes). There are a few steep inclines, but you can go slower if you need. I would say you need to be somewhat physically fit/capable to do this hike but you do not need to be an expert hiker to complete it.

Steep but short trail to a lovely waterfall. Not busy.

Not a hike I’d do again. Fairly easy to get up, not a lot to see.

Hiked both sets of falls. hiked up to the ink pots , they were pretty cool.

Beautiful, easy for the whole family.

Ok if you like big crowds , smelling other people’s breath and fighting your way past hundreds of people taking selfies in the most inconvenient spots. Not worth the drive for the canyon or falls walk but the drive thru bow valley parkway affords you pretty colours in the fall . That is all.

Great hike to upper falls. Overcast and misting rain. Here at 8:30 and alone most of the way up. Heavier traffic on return.

Short, Steep hike up the road from where the cars parked. Buses were allowed all the way up. Crazy, pushy tourists crowded onto the icy trail from the buses to the view of Peyto Lake.

As Bryan said, it's do able on a weekday. I got there at 4 PM, got a bit lost by walking around on the wrong side of the road and then made it to the correct trailhead. I was all done by 7:15 and that included a break at the top and a few small breaks coming up

so beautiful and grand when we are in the midst of the mountains and lakes, the golden larch reflections on the lake is picture perfect !

Lovely hike that I was able to do on a weekday. Only person on the path for the entire duration. This is an excellent hike for a first-time solo trip. Not overly challenging but still gets the heart rate up while providing some nice views. 1.5 hours in, 1 hour out.
