Follow the blue blazes of the Tuscarora Trail. After an uphill saunter, you will be rewarded with several panaramic views.

Great trail, well maintained but may be muddy at the start. The parking lot is small so get there early & you’ll be awarded not only a parking spot but solitude on the rocks. We think this hike is probably best in winter as you get many more views than you would with leaves on the trees.

Still very muddy, and saw a black bear near the entrance!

Love this trail. Its my bestie and I’s favorite spot. Lots of photo ops on this one. I highly recommend the ridge too, don’t stop & enjoy the views.

Clearly marked trail, nice incline, beautiful view, and easy to find! Great afternoon hike.

Did this hike December 30. Lots of recent rain and much of the lower elevation portion was super muddy. No big deal but of note. Few small stream crossings. Even with recent rain they were easily passable with careful footing.
This was a delightful hike! Quiet on the Saturday that we went. Views were terrific- especially on the eastern portion. Waterfall is awesome. Great spots for lunch with a view of the falls. Trail is well marked. Blue blazes to yellow blazes to blue.

some fantastic views, but extremely rocky and uncomfortable hike. fire road is kind of a drag too. not sorry I did it, but not one I plan to repeat.

The main trail was very muddy but the views at the top along the ridge were great.

An excellent late afternoon hike with an amazing view.

Great hike, the first part offers a nice set of switchbacks t get to the ridge. The view Friday from Big Schloss is awesome.

I definitely recommend this trail if you are in area. the first half mile or so is a steep incline but after that it's smooth sailing. great views of both Virginia and West Virginia. I only saw one or two other groups while on my hike. the parking lot was easy to find and there were restrooms (no sink though)

Short, steep, rocky hike on the edge of the park. Good view from the top.

Did this trail a few days after snowfall in SNP. Skyline Drive was closed so needed a good access point into the park. This was it.

Snow. Lots of it. I should’ve brought my spikes, but didn’t think nearly the entire trail would be snow. I’d say 95% of the trail was snow. The rest was mud.

I did this route counterclockwise. I’m a fairly in-shape hiker and am glad I did it that way. Grabbed more gradual elevation gain in the forest (felt like the forest went on forever) and was rewarded by a decent vista and view of the falls.

Not sure I’d do this one again. Might be better in the spring/summer.

The views are amazing, you can drive pretty much all the way to the top if you just want to do a quick half hour hike

I loved this trail! Beautiful rock formations and seen a timber rattler! Unbeatable views! Didn't seem like 4 miles at all.

Great quick hike. It was a chilly day but very clear and sunny, perfect day out. I saw 25 or more people but had nice bits of quiet time. The campsites were half full.

So worth the climb up. Walk passed the Big Schloss cut off and go about a half mile more to look back at it.

Awesome hike today! Lovely weather, amazing views.. a bit crowded on the trail, but I suppose that's to be expected on one of the last warm weekend days of the year! Went up to the top and ate our sandwiches sitting on the cliff and enjoying the silence...ahhh

If you’re going to climb it’s sweet

Went on this hike last month. Don’t be mistaken by the first nice view. Make your way to the ridge line for great views. Good for a day when you need a good hike, but don’t have all day!

Went on this hike last May and loved it. First hike in the States after seven years overseas. Great rock formations and views from the top. Recommend going as early as possible to avoid crowd and experience the hike in at best viewing time.

Great hike. However going counter clockwise thru the loop, after the first overlook (1.5 miles) there are several rock piles across the trail and rocks off and on for the next mile or two. Be sure to wear the proper shoes and take care. The overlooks are quite spectacular. I was however disappointed at Signal Knob overlook looking west as the small Maple trees have grown to block a lot of the view that was so breathtaking just a couple of years ago. I hope the trail maintenance crew in that area can trim those back as the view really has been compromised. Saw 4 solo's and 3 pairs of hikers all day. Temps in the 50's and cloudy.

Good day hike. We went to the right/CCW. After a short down hill there’s a steady ~3 mike uphill climb. Back 1/3 had a steep decline but it was on the short side. Awesome view of Shenandoah at the larger waterfall. Pretty muddy given all the recent rain. Tree cover along entire trail. About 5-6 stream closing that were easy but fun.

Hiked this with a buddy and his dog. It was a nice drive out there. You hike about a mile out to the loop. We went left or clockwise and it was pretty muddy from rain the previous day. The first 2 miles of crossing creeks was a warm up for the real creek crossings and then the haul up a biggg hill. There were some campers at the first view of the waterfall. Looked beautiful and would camp there. The next mile and half were diff camping/view points with breath taking views. The last 5-6 miles was calming and very cool to walk thru. Made a rock tower in the little creek/dam/island area a mile from the start was awesome to chill in after a long hike.

on Eagle Rock

Eagle Rock trail has a great view. If you continue to follow the blue blazed trail it'll continue for many miles. The trail becomes a continuous, sparse rock field. It gets tough, the footing is unstable under years of pine needles, Tree leaves hide rocks ... I wouldn't go passed the Eagle Rock vista again because the trail gets boring.

No water sources!

No vistas, but the creek was really pretty (you had to cross it several times.) Some trees were down and the trail was obscured in parts. The yellow markers were easy to find though. Not too strenuous, pretty chill.

Great hike and nice views along the hike. The campsite is about 1 mile in and the first overlook about 1.5 miles. Then the ridgeline rocks are at about 2 miles in and go for another quarter mile. We turned around at 2.2 miles and thoroughly enjoyed the views at the top. It is very rocky terrain however I would not classify this as Hard or Expert. Steep in some places but easy going overall. The tree canopy blocks a lot of the views east, we plan to come back in the winter for more views.

Went on a foggy day and didn't have the best view from the top, but the trail was excellent and clearly blazed. First 3/4 mile is steep but it levels off nicely from there with several great vistas along the way to the top. Road leading to the wolf gap recreational parking lot is fully paved and easily driven.
