Beautiful trails and waterfalls, great for a family hike. My kids spent a few hours splashing around in the river. What a fun day!

Loved it. Lots of gnats. Extra protein or breathe out of your nose!

Stunning walk. Views amazing.

Awesome! Still had water at both Vernal and Nevada Falls. We took the entire route listed but didn’t take the “shortcuts” on the recorded map (short stairs to curb the corners on the switchbacks) and our route total walking from the Half Dome Campgrounds was over 10 miles! The stairs at Vernal Falls were tough but the stairs to the top of Nevada were tougher. Single ledge “more natural stairs” were definitely more unnerving than the Vernal Falls portion. Total flights of stairs recorded were 180! What a great way to spend a Sunday morning!

Great hike. I recommend starting around 8 to beat most of the crowds. We went on Nov 11 and it was COLD in the morning so bring layers. This hike is not challenging if you are in shape but there are a lot of stairs around the two falls which can make it difficult.

Nice easy to moderate hike with lovely views. A little busy on a Sunday but it was also a holiday weekend. Try to go early! No smoke from fires when we went today (11/11/2018)

Warning: if you’re out of shape. Beginner hiker. Please be prepared. Allow yourself and your group plenty of time to reach the lakes. This trail is hard for beginners like myself before it starts getting dark. I started off the trail at 630am. It took my group almost 5 and a half hours to get to the first lake. The second lake is just a short hike away. Maybe 10-15mins after the first lake. The views are amazing! Well worth the pain coming up and going down. It took 3 and a half hours to get back to the parking lot from the second lake.

Beautiful trail the entire way!

Fantastic walk. Good path. Stellar views.

Good. Some parts were super easy, a few right before Nevada falls were steep and technical for the average person.

We started by the fire station trailhead- that way gives you a steep climb to start the trail. Going the other direction is a longer, steady climb.

Phone gps trackers put the total hike at about 7.2 miles.

Trail pretty well maintained and easy to follow- we never found ourselves wondering which trail to follow.

There is a nice outcrop with a good view of Stinson beach- maybe around 1.5 miles in.

Nice changes between forests, grass hills, and then along a creek on the Dipsea trail portion.

All in all, a good hike.

Remember to dress in layers..

Great hike but it is really long. Once you are down to the lake it seems like it will never end. I took two kids and we made it!

Great hike

The Ranger suggested we come in from Redwood Creek to access this trail and it was spectacular! I highly suggest this route. You’ll start at the Tall Trees trailhead but take the Emerald Ridge Trail down to Redwood Creek. From there you’ll head north up the creek for about 1.7 miles. There is no established trail which made this extra exciting with only minimal risk. It’s absolutely gorgeous down there, but you will have to cross the creek in several places with water up to mid-calf (it was early November when we did it). Our trekking poles came in very handy and I suggest bringing an extra pair of socks! Just extraordinary scenery and solitude. You’ll have to find the trail that cuts you into Tall Trees loop…we used All Trails to show us where we were and so it was easy to see when we were close to the loop. The loop itself is beautiful of course, and then we exited via the Tall Trees Trail. Highly, highly recommend this route as the creek was just beautiful. Don’t forget your permit before you go.

Did the upper falls and Yosemite point hike In one go. I found the hike to the falls to be moderate at best, totally doable but don’t underestimate. Bring enough water and start no later than 9am.

Probably one of the most gratifying hikes in Yosemite because of the panoramic views on Glacier point, and stunning views of the valley at every hairpin. In terms of difficulty this is a solid hard. There are steep switchbacks on the way up and slippery gravel on the descent. We took 3 hours up and about 2 down. Started at 930 and back at 430. Had a blast!

Loved this trail, went during the off season and was able to have the trail to ourselves. Easy walk, beautiful views. Took us 1 hour and 15 minutes to get to the furthest lake and around 3 hours (with side hikes) to complete. You can get this trail done in 2 hours if you go straight there and back.

Climb is up to the lakes only then a cool little loop to see all 5 lakes and all downhill from there. Just pace yourself up, and this will be a very nice outing-loop the lakes- and down. As others stated, follow your map on the app around the lakes. Not super defined, but not hard to adjust and figure out either. Have fun!

I walk slowly and totally spend 3 1/2 hours. The view is really amazing. Only one thing bother me is- crossing the river. Water still is so much. My shoes get wet. On my way back, I try to take off my shoes/socks and cross by my bare foots. The water is freezing cold! ! however, it is still a great experience.

Great trail, hard work. Wife was absolutely spent after we got down - stairs prior to both falls, but especially Nevada were a killer. Great view all the way. Saw deer, Mumma Bear and 2 baby bears!

Beautiful hike. Lots of signs and markers. Well maintained trail. Lots of uphill but not too steep. Rock climbing opportunity if you are interested. Would highly recommend. We hiked about 8.5 miles overall but that included exploring the rocks and doing a Little Rock climbing.

It was a wonderful hiking. The best part is after the California tunnel, where the crowds stop hiking. We saw many dears on the way back, around 6pm.

Yosemite's oldest trail (and it shows). The granite can be slippery at times, and even if it was bone dry, we witnessed many stumbles.
At this time of the year, there wasn't any water, so... instead of Yosemite Falls, it was more like Yosemite Walls. Nevertheless, it is a breathtaking (figuratively and literally) hike. It's worth going the extra mile and hiking from Yosemite Overlook to Yosemite Point. The round trip departing from the Yosemite Lodge bus stop and back was 8.2 miles with a 3,386 elevation gain. Worth every step.

I’ve done this loop dozens of times and it’s always nice. Wonderful views of the Bay! The section to the south is far less traveled. The peak can be a bit windy and/or chilly, so bring a light jacket if you plan on hanging out.

Awesome hike!!! Tons of switchbacks with great rewarding views from glacier point. Ended up being over 9miles 4.6 each way. Hit it early!!

This hike was CAKE with an amazing view over the valley. Two water falls. Hit it early and make sure to go up vernal then Nevada and John Muir Trail on the return.

Best and most rewarding hike I've ever done. Train for this hike.... I'm 36 and in shape, and this kicked my a**. Last visit was OCT 2017. Been twice and plan on going back.

A fabulous trail, once again. It’s a strenuous uphill at the start with a mild dip in the middle then back upwards, continuously. The views are great but at no time was the heights a concern to me. There was a bit of traffic coming down. 2 hrs 10 minutes up and 1 hour 35 minutes down. Down was easier than expected. Lunch at the top was amazing.
Take water ! 2.5 litres per person and that’s for November with great weather, that we had.
Highly recommend.

Definitely a hard trail with little shade and the sun coming down on your skin. Arrived at the entrance at 6:30 am and it was the best decision because by 8 am the sun was beaming. Beautiful views with a great feeling of accomplishment afterwards. I Recommend getting there super early no later than 7 if you want to avoid the sun and enjoy the sunrise

this was an easy well maintained trail. Enjoyed lunch while cooling off in one of the many fresh water holes
