This is my first time going to Nevada falls. I've done the Vernal Falls part of the trail multiple times. I loved making the entire loop. It was a beautiful hike that I can't wait to do again.

Great hike, but hot this weekend (Mid July). Bring lots of water. Plan to swim or bring a float to enjoy the beautiful lakes.

Great day hike. Took us about 6hrs to complete, with a lunch stop at one of the waterfalls. Note there’s currently a detour around the Sunset-Dool leg, so just factor in another mile or so.

So hard!!! A lot of climbing straight up rocks. But GORGEOUS and a great workout. Highly recommend.

Fun hike, lots of short switchbacks.
Tons of beautiful butterflies and some snow at the top.

This hike is awesome and makes you feel so accomplished but it is a little harder than “moderate”, especially on a hot day. The first half is entirely inclined and not mildly. Make sure to bring a LOT of water and food. You won’t pass any lakes so if you have dogs make sure to pack lots of extra water for them. It is a dog friendly trail though, and my active dog loved it. The view at the lookout is truly spectacular and makes the whole hike worth it. I’d say it took us around 4 hours to complete from the lookout trailhead.

Gorgeous, shady, sublimely quiet hike. We got on the trail around 12:30 and the parking lot was full, but most people were coming out as we were coming in. We didn’t pass many people on our way out. Early evening might be the best time to go. Don’t skip the loop at the bottom as it’s the reason for the entire hike. It’s full of huge redwoods, lush ferns, and old growth moss covered maple trees. Our kids thought it felt like a fairy garden (oh and our kids rocked this hike - ages 7 and 4).

Up up and away. Phenomenal views of the valley throughout most of the vertical hike. With a pack it was pretty grueling, but everyone made it with 3 liters of water each. Everyone was quick to refill at the top and chug once it was ready. The dip in the river was extremely rewarding. Well worth the effort for the views. A very busy trail with a lot of day hikers, but that’s the valley so nothing out of the ordinary there.

Guys!! The Views were AMAZING. It's a tough climb up (especially if you do the Cinder cone the day before with zero hours of sleep after a 10 hour drive
...haha) but very doable. It's worth it.

Did this trail as part of a backpacking overnight to Eagle Peak. This is a rough trail to do with packs because there is so much elevation gain in a relatively short time period, but the views are beautiful!! We started on the trail at 4pm (8pm sunset in July) and it was really nice to be in the shade for most of the way. Definitely would recommend this as an afternoon hike to avoid sun on the trail.

Parking was very difficult, as can be expected for Yosemite Valley in the summer.

Amazing trail

Gorgeous trails with views of the river. This is a great hike for a hot day because there are so many places to take a quick dip and cool off.

The reviews were confusing before I went. That's because there are two ways to get to the lake. Many ride the gondola to High Camp, which allows you to hike to Lake Shirley, w young children. If you do the actual climb from the bottom, (CCC alumni here) it is tough. Do not attempt if you are not in shape.
If you make it to Lake Shirley, you may as well keep going up to High Camp. It's 3.82 miles to High Camp from the trailhead at the bottom with close of an 2,000 elevation gain. Caught the last gondola ride before close. The gondola is dog friendly, Which was a huge plus. Definitely will do this again in the fall.

Beautiful hike; most of it is shaded which is nice on a hot day, steady elevation, easy parking and easy to follow. One thing though is there are no bathrooms so plan accordingly :)

Great view at the top, took the left trail then went back using the right trail.

Stellar scenery on the way up and fantastic views at the lookout. Can't wait to do this again.

Lots of climbing but pretty scenery throughout! I didn’t feel there was a big ‘pay-off’ moment at the top with a nice view so that’s why I’d rate this one a 4!

First time to Yosemite and First hiking trail...I loved it great work out..

Loved this hike! Very beautiful the first ten seconds you walk through a nice green area with water and awesome wildflowers!! We started our hike around 9 I would recommend a little earlier because it gets super hot but sine it’s so beautiful we pushed through. When you make it to the top the view is gorgeous you can see for miles and miles it’s really cool up there.

Not for faint hearted... I felt easy while hiking from Stanford ave may be because I regularly go to gym, carry water as per body requirements. This is workout hike and not scenic one.

Awesome 360 degrees views. Will be back!

This is a beautiful trail. I would say more moderate than hard. We powered through in under 4 hours, but good trail to stop for lunch by the falls and enjoy the scenery.

An incredibly beautiful hike! The wildflowers are blooming, waterfall flowing, and snow is gone. The first section of the hike to the waterfalls is very easy! The second section is quite challenging. A lot of elevation gain with steep hills. I recommend hiking poles. There are sections with loose rock and dirt. Well worth it when you get to the top! Give yourself time to acclimate to the high elevation. And btw the bathrooms at the parking are closed!

Great hike just to many people.

We took the bus up to the top and hiked down, amazing views along the way. It took us 5 hours because we stopped and took so many pictures. Great views of half dome and Yosemite Falls. Hike early in day to avoid heat....there is a nice breeze though.

Got to Skyline parking lot before 8am on a Sunday and it was already full so had to park along the street. Hike down Stream Trail and to the other parking lot was pretty easy, shaded and downhill, passing by campsites and redwoods. Headed back via French trail, which requires some uphill initially and then a few portions of up and downhill, nothing too strenuous. Overall a good hike, just get there early.

Beautiful hike
We crossed the river at the beginning and stayed on the side to avoid the people as it was pretty crowded

very difficult hike, rocks very brutal on feet, ankles, and knees! recommend hiking poles, ankles hiking boots. views are great! bring at least 2 liters of water, and snacks!

Finally did the hike today. Such amazing views and what a workout! All the sweat is paid off when you make it to the tower.
