THE STAIRS!!! If you wanna save your knees take a walking stick at least. The elevation gain is no joke. Well I’m at 240 5’11”. Took around 4 hours with break included. Man the views are something else the ocean, hillside, streams, falls. Make sure you know where to turn as there are a few forks in the road.

WARNING! It’s actually 8.4 miles, not 6.7! But one of the most beautiful hikes ever, rolling green hills and quiet forest / creeks and stunning ocean views. Bring lots of water and wear good boots!

Lovely trail- I’d imagine it would be pretty muddy in some parts after a rainy day so be aware. It was perfect mid February hike though- the hills are beautifully lush right now unlike the summer when it’s yellow and dry. Not too challenging- there’s a good amount of ups and downs and never felt too strenuous.

This was such a beautiful trail, honestly one of the best trails I’ve hiked on. It had redwoods, the beach, and gorgeous rolling hills. Definitely recommended picking up a map at the ranger station before starting since the trail changes names along the way. Would recommend stopping for lunch at the beach. Overall would definitely hike this trail again!

Moderate trail with steep elevation gains. Recommend hiking boots and taking a break at Stinson beach for a fish taco.

FANTASTIC hike!! We started off at Bootjack Campground instead of stinson beach to avoid the farther drive and parking on the beach. went counterclockwise on this loop. This hike has everything -- great views, damp forest (great for finding some cool mushrooms!!), and of course the beach! Come planning to take your time so you can really take everything in.

My family and I really enjoyed the lush scenery and the steep hills. Great workout! I must say, the cows were nice to see, but I’ve never been so close to them without a fence between us. It was also nice to be on a trail that was not heavily trafficked for the majority of our hike. We arrived at 8 AM and there was hardly anyone on the trail until the end our hike. The only downfall to this lovely hike is the abundance of horse dung on the trail. Other than that, great hike, highly recommend and will be back!

The water was great. We went all the way to the lake. The way was a challenge since there are 514 stairs to climb. there are 14 waterfall and 2 real bridge to cross. We can heard the sound of water along the creek. We start at 9:00 the parking lot almost pack. It was very chilly and windy and start to warm up later on. since it is weekend so crowded with people.

An amazing trail! Took Matt David -> Pantoll -> Steep Ravine -> Dipsea. NOT 6.7 MILES. IT IS 8.3 miles. Just an FYI! Be ready for a lot of incline :) ALSO, lots of muddy areas so def wear some hiking boots!

Beautiful trail with a great mix of terrain, from forest to rocky climbs along the mountainside with views stretching to the ocean. Bathrooms open at the main parking lot. Recommend wearing proper shoes with good tread.

Beautiful hike! Make sure to get there early because parking can be a little tight. We commuted from SJ so it took us about 1 hour and 40 to get there. It’s only slippery if you don’t wear the right shoes OR you’re not watching where you step. It’s mostly uphill for the first 2ish miles or so. PLEASE make sure to wear a mask. Lots of people hiking so be courteous as you walk along the same trail.

What a nice hike! There are several views of mini falls that you can stop and enjoy the scenery at. There is a considerable amount of steep areas, including parts with many uneven steep stairs and some rock scrambling. Others have said this is a pretty slippery hike, but I didn’t find that to be true wearing shoes meant for trails. Most people we saw were in Nike running/training shoes, so take that with a grain of salt, though it was muddy in several areas. If you’re uncomfortable passing people in narrow areas due to CV19, this isn’t a hike for you at the moment. I just noticed that that while the distance (4.8 miles) is correct, the other feature of this app that shows the incline/decline along the trail is incorrect and only shows 2.8 miles total. Most of the hiking to the picnic area marked is uphill. I’ll report this so maybe this comment will become irrelevant :) Parking can be hard for larger vehicles/trucks, so be prepared to arrive early (before 9) if that describes you. There’s mostly roadside parking, and if you don’t like climbing back up to your car after a hike, I’d estimate that there are less than 50 spaces before the road starts going uphill so try not to arrive late.
