Beautiful and easy hike (if you go clockwise) in the woods , very peaceful and quiet before 10am. Great for families with kids as the incline is very mild.

Met a rattle snake that makes this trial special

Great outdoor activities

Get there early! I went on a holiday weekend and didn’t arrive until 1 pm, parking was full. Ended up being able to pay for a spot at a camping site thanks to the good graces of some campers but otherwise would’ve missed out on the park. This hike is nice trip through the redwoods with a rewarding desert like summit. Nice workout at a quick pace but not super challenging. Took me 2 hours.

Okay hike. Pretty steep with some shade here and there. Consistent incline throughout the whole thing.

Hubby and I went this morning!! Much more difficult than I expected, almost threw in the towel, but my competitiveness kept me going. The trail needs to be marked better the higher you go...had a blast, but should have taken my hiking boots..tennis shoes dont work!

Beautiful trail, nightmare parking. Get there early!

Had an awesome time on this hike, great lookouts, huge rocks and a waterfall(might be more water in the early months of the year). We took the short cut about 2 miles in to head on back which made the hike 3.5 miles and it took us about 2 hours just relaxing and exploring. Highly recommend!

Decent hike. Lots of inclines for a good workout. Saw some deer and butterflies, but not many views. Lots of shade though so good on a hot day.

Fun trail. Didn’t have my hiking boots, so bouldering was difficult. Areas of the trail require you to climb over rocks so be prepared.

Also parking in the parking lot is $8 cash. You can park on the side of the road but be warned that there is a ditch and I saw a car get stuck. Not hard to park, just be safe!

This is definitely a difficult loop. I would not recommend it to people who cannot handle slopes or the heat. The path is also not paved, and may require some climbing over large rocks and boulders. I finished it in close to 2.5 hours, but I stopped a lot for photos and to snack. The views are absolutely gorgeous!

The only con I have is that it's a very popular place, so parking can get difficult to find.

The hike is between easy to moderate. I went clockwise and found it enjoyable. The views of ocean and pine trees of rangers there are very blissful to see. Sometimes, the trail totally vanishes and all you have to do is to get past the boulder or rock covering it. Please carry bug repellent as there are lot of blood sucking insects and they will keep swarming you. Most of the time I could only only hear them. This trail would be very beautiful in raining season.

MOSQUITO CITY! Be prepared! Arrived 8:45a on a Sunday. Plenty of parking, but lots of people milling around. Once I got on the trail, only encountered a few groups, mostly near the trailhead. Was glad I did the loop clockwise, so I was going downhill on Meteor trail, which was by far the prettiest part of the hike. It’s a narrow ravine full of ferns and a few Redwood groves. Kind of a fairyland, made more magical by the fact that I was all alone there. Except for the mosquitos. The rest of the hike was pleasant.

Great hike with nice variety of views, rocks, and a stream. Took us 3hrs.

pretty consistent incline, but perfect for heartrate.

Gorgeous view, the trail itself is not that challenging but the trail signs are a bit confusing, grab a map at the trailhead

Great hike through some beautiful old growth redwood forest with some mixed chaparral as well. A little longer than advertised—I measured it on my GPS at 5.5 mi.

Love this trail and all surrounding. The area is my favorite, a perfect balance between nature features, challenging terrain, and beautiful forest.

Beautiful and moderate forest trail with plenty of nature features to check out.

My daughter and I rate this as one of our favorite trails. We do it often and the views are always spectacular.

Enjoyed the sanborn trail!

I highly enjoyed this trail when I lived in STL. I would drive 30 mins to come to this park almost weekly. The trail is nice and easy to navigate. The views are great and even better in the winter.

5.5m loop took me about 3 hrs. Average hiker here just to give you an idea. Do not worry about getting lost all trail fork had a trail signs and distance. During my hike in the am sometimes it gets foggy so did not see the views. Easy and fun.

Nice hike. Went from East to West so uphill was more intense, but the path is nice and the view from the top is brilliant. A camera doesn't do the redwoods along the way justice.

An almost perfect 4-5 mile loop, and such an easy/close drive from the peninsula. Had never thought to come over here. Great redwood trees and a really awesome view at the top!

Really good. No sunshine even in sunny day thats good for me. Good views

Good elevation, running through the red woods is always fun. First quarter mile a little trickier to navigate due to lack of signage and it being my first time on this route. Fog was rolling over the mountains today for a nice tree rain at the top. $6 parking fee if you want to park inside the park.
