Nice moderate hike up to the top of the hill. Paved the entire way. Good views at the top. Shouldn’t take more than an hour if you’re in good shape.

Really nice walk - took my dog - a few mountain bikers and trail runners out there

I can’t believe 57 people gave this trail a 4-5 star rating! Half of the hike is butted up against Irvington road...so I guess the “beautiful views” are the houses and the cars??? The only reason I can see anyone recommending this trail
Is if you live down ajo or close by and you maybe want to do a little trail running. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF BETTER TRAILS IN TUCSON!!! If I want to hike somewhere just to see views of the city, I’ll walk up tummamoc or A mountain!!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TRAIL.

Nice views!

Well marked and beautiful views! Took my two dogs and they loved it. Only saw one other hiker and two mountain bikers.

It's not easy. But it is totally worth it.

Me encanto,se los recomiendo a los principiantes...

Easy trail for beginners, new Sarasota trail also that creates an extra little pathway. Beautiful views, can spot deer almost every hike!

This hill is deceiving. Starts gradually at the base with a paved road. Gradual climb turns into a steep and relentless incline. Halfway point has water and scenic lookout. Great workout, quick path.

This is one of my favorite hikes. The elevation gain is aggressive. The loose scree underfoot is treacherous. Navigation is difficult. Nearing the summit you will scramble up large loose rocks. The final ascent you will need to use your arms and legs with a feeling of exposure. Choosing the wrong path may end poorly. I recommend gloves, trekking poles, and GPS. My most recent summit was 9/30/2018 and monsoon rains have not been kind to this trail. It has severely eroded and knocked over many of the cairns. At this time I would not recommend this hike unless someone in your party is familiar with the route.

Straight up hill
Wasn’t that enjoyable, so steep the whole way!

WARNING—- attacked by bees 1.5 miles into trail!! There must be hives hanging off the side of the peak. Be very careful when at the lookout areas!!!!

Paved all the way up, very busy on the weekends (and most mornings) but plenty of space for everyone. It’s a steep uphill hike so it’s definitely a good workout. City views and not far from downtown/UofA.

good hike, horrible run! 23 minute uphill, 11 minute downhill.

I don't really have anything to share that others have not expressed already. Take plenty of water. My biggest piece of advice is to preplan your trip here! My brother and I hiked this as it sits right outside his neighborhood. The views are great and you will be rewarded for your efforts just plan ahead and familiarize yourself with the route beforehand otherwise you may/will get frustrated with the lack of directions. I would wear a good hiking shoe, he lent me a pair of his as I only had cross trainers and couldn't believe the difference it made.

Awesome workout, I enjoy watching planes takeoff and land while listening to Air Traffic Control on my phone. This hike restores my faith in humanity, seeing so many families out working out together and trying to get in shape. This hike is definitely not easy!

The views were great but the end of the trail isn’t very cute. I expected something else I guess

If you are looking fora work out, this is the hike you want. Summer get really hot in Tucson, so 630 to 730 is a good window to scape the Tucson hot weather. I loved it.

The best cardio workout you can get in an hour! Dawn is my favorite time as it's beautiful and you can beat the crowds. Tons of wildlife and I regularly see deer, javelina, coyotes and rabbits. It's paved but could be hard on your knees on the way down. Stunning views from the top! Totally recommend!

I don't mind the sights and sounds of the nearby city. Beautiful views that change a lot through the course of the hike. Lots of saguaro including young saguaro. Great views of downtown Tucson.

Started at 5:45 in the morning and the trail was busy. Not sure what hasn't already been said about the route. Definitely felt the burn on the way up and the downhill bothered one of my knees but I probably would have been ok if not for doing Mt. Lemmon yesterday. The trail signs gave me an excuse to stop and catch my breath. LOL. Crowds were a little much on the way down and I don't understand large groups that hog the path by walking side by side. But, all in all, was a good heart pumper before my drive home.

This was my first time walking up Tumamoc. The path is a paved access road for official vehicles only. There are a few steep areas that are a nice challenge. My girlfriend and I left at 7:50pm for the cooler temps and for views of the city lights.

There are a number of plaques along the paved road with information and facts about wildlife and scenery. At almost all of the switchbacks there is a bench with a view if you need a rest or want to take in the sights. There is a small lookout area facing the city at the top.

Highly recommend for sunset. The views are beautiful, it’s easy to find and follow, and it’s a good workout! My only complaint is that it’s pretty crowded - even in the summer!
